In a campaign I'm running, I happen to have the perfect opportunity to work this particular module into the narrative. However, one thing I'm not sure will go over well with my party is the group being able to pick exactly one item (which would probably have to be part of a Macguffin my party's been questing for). So I'm considering doing a bit of handwaving and letting them each get something. What would be an appropriate value of item to divide up among a group of players?
Or is there enough stuff in the module (particularly with Huyanwo's hoard) that I could just make the Macguffin the sole reward and they won't be shafted on loot?

The stipulation that the winning party can select only one item can certainly be changed if that works better for your campaign. As long as you as the GM are ok with each PC getting a fairly powerful item of their choice, then that's cool. Ultimately, you're in control of how much loot your players get, so I'd work with them to make the reward feel as epic as possible, whether that means one big McGuffin the whole party wants to get (like the Pathfinder Society did with the Hao Jin Tapestry in the metaplot of the Pathfinder Society Organized Play campaign's Year of the Ruby Phoenix) or several smaller items that fit the characters' specific needs.
