Sir Lucius is walking along through the Caldera, hunting for Galtraxis when suddenly the landscape ripples in front of him and changes before his eyes. Some sort of massive illusion was apparently cast over the landscape, its dismissal allows him to see a huge burnt area of volcanic rock, with a colossal red dragon sitting in the still bubbling bed of lava in the center. It grins at him toothily, "Hello."

Initiative:

1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34

Please indicate any buffs you had running prior to the combat in your first post. Be very detailed in your OOC description of your actions. That means use the coordinates, tell me what kind of action each thing you're doing costs, etc.

Begin Round 1

For flavor, I took away some of his resources, such as I suspect he's used his food and water along with some of his Lay on Hands to remove the exhaustion both him and his horse have been experiencing during their long journey to this point. Also, he left the horse at the last town he passed through so as to keep it alive.

The only spell he had up currently was Bloodsworn Retribution. Sorry, I forgot to reflect that in his hit points. I'll do so now.

Current Hit Points - 199/224 (25 sacrificed to Bloodsworn Retribution when he took the oath to slay Galtraxis for a +5 to his rolls.)

The reality of his situation falling fully upon his shoulders as the world shifts before him, Sir Lucius would fall into a familiar stance after clicking his boots softly togther. Raising his bow swiftly to the ready, he would whisper to it in elven, as if it were the lover that had given it to him, designating this dragon to be the enemy that he sought after.

"Swift defeat to my enemies"

Then, with a rage born from the atrocities this very beast had performed, he would roar at the dragon as he started loosing arrow after arrow upon it.

"Let this end now you foul beast!"

Free Action to activate his Boots of Speed to grant himself Haste.

Free Action to activate his Oathbow making it a +5 Composite Longbow (Str +2).

Swift Action to declare Smite upon Galtraxis.

Full-Round Action to Attack Galtraxis. He seems to fall within the first range increment of his bow thanks to the Distance enchantment placed upon his arrows.

I do believe that is enough to take him down. If not, he does still have a hero point to spend.

Sir Lucius's seven dragon slaying arrows are all in the air before the first one hits. Decades of training have made Lucius an archer nigh worthy of godhood. All the missiles fly true, thunking into the great wyrm's forehead to form the outline of the longbow symbol of Erastil. The creature's head quivers for a half-instant before exploding outwards in a burst of boiling lava-like blood and organs and shards of glittering obsidian bone.

The dragon falls to the ground, defeated.

Good job. But how low can you go?

I do believe he was bleeding out. Though Sir Lucius would have seen to that soon enough.

With a tear rolling down his cheek in remembrance of those lost to the dragon, Sir Lucius would utter a soft prayer to Erastil asking that he look after his beloved until he could meet with her once more.

Once finished, he would place his bow softly inside the enchanted quiver that lay upon his hip before starting to make his way back the way he came while pondering all the while about what other duties Erastil might have for him before he would be granted the rest he desired more than ever...
