A character just lost his burrow speed when he lost is template. The character was ten feet underground.

Is there any hope? We are at table right now.

If he left a tunnel behind him, he can crawl back out that way. If not, I'd let him successfully break out of the ground with a DC 20 Strength check. It might be totally unrealistic in real life, but it's certainly cinematic.

Without a tunnel back, he would have to hold his breath as if he were underwater.

If there's a druid in the party, now might be a good time to summon a small earth elemental to retrieve the wayward character.

Does the burrow ability leave a tunnel? I never thought so?
