Sure it's probably sexist, but in such a light hearted / tongue-in-cheek way that I find it odd that there is so much vitriol that has been launched at it.

Same here Jinx; I certainly find it worth watching.
And while my calling it homo-erotic earlier might have been overstating the case, there are some bits where it uses gender related imagery to do other stuff. For instance, after the Magic-user gets poisoned by the purple gas, the fighter starts dragging him around in the iconic caveman/cavewoman pose, and there's a shot where a bunch of cavewoman types point and laugh at them. It's a 9 minute film, so it can't make very nuanced statements, but that bit certainly isn't typical.
And before anyone says I'm ruining it for myself by over-thinking it, I'm a brainy type. this is how I enjoy it.
