My first reaction was, "wow this is gorgeous." The model and texture quality varied a lot but the way was all rendered was beautiful.

Don't know if bug reporting is something GW cares about at this point, but I get a lot of 'snow', whites static, with trees in my field of view and with some things in the dungeon.

With the trees, if they dominated the field of view the static looked to be on the trees texture. If it was just one tree on the side of my field of view the static was on the rock texture. Couldn't really identify anything about the dungeon static other than it was rare and only happened in small areas.

I don't really think bug reports on the tech demo port are worth their time. The added overhead of the different browsers is making a mess of things far more then if it was a stand alone client. It's only 100MB of data and I can feel the pluggin struggling on Safari on OSX 10.6.8 to load some areas. Even with 6 GB of RAM, 2 quad core 3.2 Ghz intel processors, and a 5870 ATI Radaeon. Then again there are times Flash struggles as well. It's the nature of browser plugins vs actual optimized clients.

What's really cool about this is it gives them the option of throwing out chunks of specific things they want people to look at without needing to build a such a dedicated client. For example the Combat Pit when its focused on raw numbers and timing and less on graphics/animations could be a place where a single source file being interperated by Unity browsers plug-ins would be logical.

Wow took me a while but I finally found the hidden goblin! Is there just the one?

@TheDarklord - funny, but unfair. :) There are no Goblins in the Environment. :)

I feel the same way. My thoughts were if they are going to take any code directly from the tech demo for the final product. It is just a little less testing they will have to do in the long run if they are reusing any of the code.

@Ryan Dancey, wow the tech guys didn't even tell you where they hid it? ;-)

Its cool and I like the idea, but I dearly hope that the makers of Pathfiner online change the lag in the game. The Enviroment Demo was very laggy and I could barelly play.Thank You Pathfinder for making this game anyways. Im a huge fan of the boardgames!

It wasn't meant to represent the game as it will be in any way. It's more of a bonus Easter egg. Just something for people to look at and as a way to show how easy it is to work with the Unity system.

Also keep in mind they will have a dedicated client rather than running over a browser so you should see a lot of improvement just in that.

how on earth do you get this started? i've installed the unity web player on both a mac and a pc, tried to visit the kickstarter page with safari and chrome on a mac, and ie, and chrome on a pc, and the "click here" thing is always just a IMG tag in html that does nothing when I click there.

So... how on earth do I launch this thing?

@Lawful Evil GM - I strongly suspect you have some kind of malware/spyware blocker software installed or some other high-security setting that is preventing your browser from loading the required plug-in.

Try Firefox or IE. I got it to run using an older ver of Firefox, but had to restart my browser before the app would play.

Well, my only virus proctection is "Micrsoft Security Essentials" in windows, and nothing on the mac. Windows is using the windows firewall as per normal, but that shouldnt be effecting browsers, just IP connections, but I've tried opening that up too, and my mac is wide open.

I've now tried Firefox from a default install, and still nothing happens. So... what exact steps did other people take? Did they manually install the unity web player like I did?

Soved, I eventually google fu'd my way to this url: https://goblinworks.com/experience

and everything works there, but never did get a link to this from anywhere on the kick starter page

@Lawful Evil GM - that I can't explain. Just checked the link on the KS page and it works fine. Weird.

Lyon, the guild leader of Pax's Lotro division noted the beauty of the outside enviroment just as soon as he signed in, even at this early stage. Good job GW :)

I ran it with no problems on a mac running windows 7 using Safari... I havn't tried it using mac OS, I'm itching to play already!

Non full screen it's gorgeous, but full screen pretty pixilated, still impressive though, keep in mind my full screen is the iMac largest size (massive resolution)? Mouse was wierd in browser, but I'm sure this will get worked out. Great to see what they did with so little resources

I think that could be due to the static resolution doesn't scale up on fullscreen. Kind of wish there was an option to change that, but hey, I still enjoyed it.
