[LPJ Design] Iconics coming for Way of the Wicked and the upcoming Throne of Night Adventure Paths

Product Discussion

Good news for all you fans of Fire Mountain Games adventure paths; Way of the Wicked and the upcoming Throne of Night; Gary McBride he has allowed LPJ Design to create Adventure Path Iconics version of both of these adventure paths. If you have seen our Adventure Path Iconics: Path of Jade this will give you a good example of what we will be doing with the iconics. Since Way of the Wicked and Throne of Night has such a fan base I would like to hear from the fan base on what they would like to see for Adventure Path Iconics: Path of Wicked and for Adventure Path Iconics: Path of Night in the type of iconic characters they feel would fit? Please let us know. Thanks once again for your interest and support.

Antipaladin,

Evil Cleric (perhaps Undeath domain)
Evil Sorcerer (perhaps infernal bloodline)

...just to name a few.

These three plus a mad scientist-y Alchemist.

I agree with all options given by both Orthos and Banesfinger, though I would also add a rogue on his way to the assassin PrC.

Aren't antipaladins required to be Chaotic Evil? As I recall, WotW strongly recommends against playing Chaotic- or Good-aligned characters.

Machinesmith.

Honestly, an evil gadgeteer/clockworker.

(Of course, I may be biased).

I've always been fond of evil druids, personally. Also, non-necromancer evil wizards. Evil enchanters are under-utilized.

How about a repressed summoner whose eidolon is the personification of his dark impulses made flesh?

An evil bard. Evil bards make surprisingly good manipulators.

True, but WotW allows for them to be Lawful Evil rather than Chaotic Evil.

Silver Crusade

Definitely agree with the evil enchanter.

Evil oracle would be nifty imo, though cleric seems a better option.

Inquisitor.

Definitely an antipaladin.

I've got a soft spot for the LE monk. Goes back to 1e days, that one.

In regards to Way of the Wicked, I have several suggestions for characters. An evil Calisan or Ghevet Druid with a good bit of fire and necromancy spells would be awesome, especially if the character practiced visceromancy and burns captured enemies within wickerman effigies. A Cynean Blackblade Magus with obsidian 'flesh' interlaced with glowing orange fissures who is addicted to power and driven by the fiendish blades whispers. A Dalrean Rogue with a taste for blood who always leaves flowers on the corpses of it's victims and will advance into the Assassin prestige class. A bit cliché obviously, but cool nonetheless. There are a few other ideas I have for characters, but I'm waiting for feedback on these before submitting the rest of them.

In regards to Throne of Night, I must ask, are you making a double size PDF, since you can choose to play as either Drow or Dwarves?

No idea for the rest, but it seems clear that one of the iconics for WotW must be that dark lady on the cover of all numbers except 2. She could be a Lord of Darkness, the archetype for LE antipaladins. Some others characters are shown on other pictures that can be the base for other iconics, but that seems the clearest one.

For Throne of Night, seems too soon to give idea... at least for us fans/costumers. The people of Fire Mountain sure can say a lot more.

Hm, I must have missed that part. What book and page is that on?

Right now I am thinking we will do three dwarf iconics, three drow iconics and two NeoExodus race based iconics, most likely with them being a Dalrean and Cavian. For those who don't know Dalrean are a race of sentient, mobile plants. If a treant is a thinking tree, a dalrean is a thinking flower, and indeed, the spellcasters of this race are noted for their astonishing floral ‘spellbuds.’ Dalrean, who live exceedingly long lives, are closely tied to the natural cycles of Exodus. Creatures of myth, whispered in legend, lost in the mists of history – and now returned for reasons unknown to any but themselves. Such are the cavians, a race of humanoid rodents noted for their incredible psionic abilities.

Dark Archive

Well off the top of my head for way of the wicked maybe basing one or two on the evil characters seen on the cover of most the volumes of that Ap?

Dark Archive

How about making an Inquisitor using Rite Publishing's Purifiers of the Burning Pentagram variant? Its hellfire is wicked.

Super Genius Games Hellfire magic is also pretty wicked. A cleric using the Exalted Hellfire domain is just asking to be used. Their Hellion also works well in this game.

The Malefactor by TPK games should be an obvious choice for this.

As for the Drow, Super Genius Games Shadow Assassin class seems an excellent fit for the campaign.

For the Dwarves, Little Red Goblin Games Elementalist using earth magic would be pretty rockin'.

Knot of Thorns (Book 1) Free Preview, Paths of Wickedness, page 25, section under Step 3-Pick Your Class, 2nd paragraph.

And the antipaladin will be present. There may be an inquisitor that bears a resemblance to a certain dark lady as well...

Not sure if this has already been done up and ready to go, but an infernal bound witch from Knotty-Works' The Witch.

An evil general or other high ranking military official who has been kicked out of the military. A fighter or cavalier would do well.

The evil ones are already here.

For these series we normally only use material strictly out of the Core Rulebook and the races from the NeoExodus Campaign Setting. And since the material from the core rulebook is OGL and the races of NeoExodus are available to be seen at D20pfsrd.com we make it that you don't need purchase any additional material to use this product in your adventure paths or home games.
