The Arena Outer Tower of Ezra and Gorik

google online between 10-13 EST

As you both talk arguing the semantics of servants you are both rocked by an impact against the side of the tower. Dust and twisted metal blast out of the archway from the small towers you came from as they are torn apart by the tentacles.

As you stare in amazement at the destruction more tentacles wrap around the windows and roof of the tower. they are grabbing and pulling trying to find purchase.

What do you do?

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Initiative If Needed: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Readies Sword & Shield

"I have a horrible feeling..."

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Gorik looks around, getting to his feet and pulling his bow free.

"Agreed. I doubt it would be wise to tarry here long," he says, then looks over to Ezra. "Well, are you ready to continue this battle, then? I doubt there's much else to be done."

Initiative as well: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Of course you get Initiative...

"Of course going for your Bow." she says as she dons her helm.

I will start with my shield equipped and my sword sheathed. NOTE: Readying a Sword refers to both drawing or prepping to draw the blade.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

I kind of assumed you had already drawn it, as I didn't think we'd actually be going into combat that fast. But okay. I'm also unsure where we were positioned? I'm just gonna move from the fountain.

Swift action for Wings of Air, Move action to G12, about 10 feet off the ground, while drawing my bow. Otherwise, just gonna end my turn.

"Hmph, I see you're still unhappy with my fighting style," he says. "That's a shame, but I'm not terribly inclined to change it, so I suggest you adapt."

Also, dunno how long we were taking a break? Fickle Winds would be lasting for 11 minutes, so if it was a short break, it may still be on? Dunno.

The Necropolis - Day - Late Morning - Tomb Day One

it was a short break. the "old one" didn't let you waste more than 2-3 minutes. but the problem is if you took it down to talk then you'll have to recast it. There is no easy way to talk if you have a howling wind blasting between you both.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Oof, I don't particularly want to run through all my spells for the day, and that is the highest level I can cast. But yeah, I guess I would have to have taken it down in that case.

Edit: In which case, I suppose I should have cast it on my turn, but ah well.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Sorry my computer posted before I was finished updating my actions. Will edit this post with what I was going to post.

"Meh, It is mostly annoying to fight a Man who fights like a Little Girl. Seems like that is all I fight here recently."

Starting at M11.

Actions:
Move: Release my Shield for the Animated Property
Free: Draw bow from GoS
Standard: Fire a Single Arrow at Gorik to test if Fickle Winds is still up.

Attacks:
1st: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (6) + 19 = 25
Damage:
1st: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

BTW: How are you getting +8 Armour?

END OF TURN

The Necropolis - Day - Late Morning - Tomb Day One

@Ezra the whirlwind that sweeps arrows away would be very obvious and noisy.

Ok then...

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

+8 Armor is Air Barrier Revelation. Available 11 hours a day.

Shoot, I have 26 AC? I started writing this thinking I had 25 and got hit. Well.

Gorik grunts as the arrow flies by, just barely veering off course and missing him. "Much as your insults are entertaining, I'm not terribly in the mood for them," he says, while gesturing with his free hand, before a vile red light begins to glow from it.

Darting forward, he lands next Ezra. "Perhaps this will interest you more," he says, then reaches forward.

Standard action for Fleshworm Infestation, Move Action to M12, next to Ezra, and Free action to deliver the touch attack, from casting in the same round.

Touch Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Edit: If that hits, here's the reference. Basically, on your turn for the next 11 rounds, you need a DC 19 Fort Save. Failure means 1d6 damage, 2 points of Dex damage, and you're staggered for the round. Success means no damage, but you are sickened for the round (-2 on... several things Edit 2: attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.)

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

FORT Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Spell Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Starting at M11.

Actions:
Free: Store Bow.
Free: Retrieve Shield.
Standard: Shieldbash.

Attack:
Shieldbash/Bull Rush: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17
Damage:
Shield Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

END OF TURN

EDIT: Sonnova leave it to me to fail EVERY, SINGLE ROLL!

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Gorik flaps his wings once to move back, simultaneously twisting to avoid an attack. With some distance between them again, he pulls out an arrow and fires.

Using acrobatics to avoid an AoO, DC is equal to your CMD, if I fail, you can attack (assuming the shield threatens).

Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (9) + 26 = 35

Move action to K17, and standard to shoot with deadly aim.

Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Fleshworm Infestation(9/11 Rounds Remaining):
FORT Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Starting at M11.
Move: Move to O13 while drawing my sword.
Move: Move to Q14.

END OF TURN

Edit: I put O14 instead of Q14 sorry. If Gorik wants to change his Move he can.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Hanging still in the air, Gorik calls out, "Just waiting for the worms to do their job, or were you planning on actually fighting?"

He also makes a few brief motions with his hand, golden light sparking across his skin for a moment, before flying through the air to reposition.

Standard action to cast Divine Favor. Move action to O9.

Edit: Note, he's not particularly far off the ground, hovering like 5-10 probably.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Gorik I accidentally put the wrong Letter on my last move if you wish you can change your Move. I will edit this post once you give your answer.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Hmm, doesn't make a huge difference, but I'll go to S11 then.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Fleshworm Infestation(8/11 Rounds Remaining):
FORT Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

Starting at Q14.
Move: Move to S12.
Standard: Doublestrike against Gorik.

Attacks:

Sword: 1d20 + 19 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 19 - 2 = 21
Shieldbash/Bull Rush: 1d20 + 18 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 18 - 2 = 17

Damage:

Sword: 1d8 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 2 = 12
Shieldbash: 1d6 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 - 2 = 9

END OF TURN

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Dodging back, Gorik avoids the blows, before twisting away, to gain some distance, and firing once more.

Move with acrobatics to P11, then standard to shoot, using deadly aim.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (16) + 26 = 42

Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (10) + 18 = 28
Damage: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21

Also, you took 2 points of Dex damage, if I recall? Not sure what that makes your AC now, but it's something.

Edit: Divine Favor 9/10

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Doesn't effect me enough to decrease AC. Only decreases my Ranged Attack and such. And you don't even need to roll your Acrobatics.

Fleshworm Infestation(7/11 Rounds Remaining):
FORT Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

Starting at S12.
Move: Move to P12.
Standard: Doublestrike against Gorik.

Attacks:

Sword: 1d20 + 19 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 19 - 2 = 18
Shieldbash/Bull Rush: 1d20 + 18 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 18 - 2 = 25

Damage:

Sword: 1d8 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 2 = 11
Shieldbash/Bull Rush: 1d6 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 2 = 8

END OF TURN

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Oh? Did I read ability damage wrong, or do you just have too heavy armor to make full use of your Dex? And are you sure? I know it's a high bonus to acrobatics, but it goes against your CMD. Is it not possible to fail on that?

Barely dodging another blow, Gorik cursed under his breath. Darting around the woman, he flew over the fountain, nocking back an arrow and loosing it once more.

Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
Damage: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21

I wonder if I should stop using deadly aim. I'd like to do some damage at least, and I think I would have last turn if I hadn't used it :/

Edit: And this turn too, I bet! Bah!
Edit 2: Whoops, sorry move to M12. Still close to the ground though.
Edit 3: Divine Favor 8/10

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Now would his movement activate my Follow Up and Strike?

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Hmm... looking at them, I would think not since it wasn't a 5-foot step (since I do not want to get into a full attack war with you >_>; ).

I could be wrong though.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

The thing is if it didn't then Follow Up & Strike is worthless. As no one can take a 10-foot 5-foot Step. Plus with my luck I will fail my save.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Yeah, I thought that seemed kind of odd. It seems like it could be more for positioning though. Rather than taking a single 5-foot step to follow your foe, you can move 10 feet to get into a better position on them, maybe to pin them against a wall or something?

That seems like a possibility for what follow up is for, but like I said, I don't really know.

Hmm... I never thought of that...

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

How do you get a d20 for damage? Also I have a 19 DEX normal I have a MAX DEX of 3.

Fleshworm Infestation(6/11 Rounds Remaining):
FORT Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31

Starting at P12.
Move to N12.
Standard: Doublestrike against Gorik.

Attacks:

Sword: 1d20 + 19 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 19 - 2 = 19
Shieldbash/Bull Rush: 1d20 + 18 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 18 - 2 = 33

Damage:

Sword: 1d8 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 8 - 2 = 13
Shieldbash/Bull Rush: 1d6 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 2 = 11

You take 11 damage. and move to K12 (with me following to L12) do to Bull Rush.

END OF TURN

You have lost 5 HP (16 after my attack) I have lost a Net Total of 31.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Oops, yeah that should definitely be a d8. My bad. Good thing it didn't hit anyway, I suppose, but yeah, definitely not a d20 on the damage die. I won't bother editing it now, but if I do that again, especially on something that hits, let me know.

Not sure if this is smart, but Standard for Bestow Curse, casting defensively, needing a 21 check. If I fail you get an attack of opportunity.

Casting Defensively: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36

And that was a crit. Wonderful. Touch attack to deliver it, and if I crit fail right after...

Touch attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17

Okay, I think that hits? DC 18 Will save, at a -2 penalty from sickened. After that, I'm going to fly up towards the ceiling, if you want an acrobatics check? If the curse hits, you'll have a -4 penalty to all attack rolls, saves, ability checks and skill checks... permanently... though I did bring scrolls of remove curse, in case I hit anyone with that.

Gritting his teeth, Gorik weathers the attack, before making quick motions with his free hand and muttering to himself. His hand glows with a ghostly blue light, before he reaches out, transferring it to Ezra, before darting up towards the ceiling in a whirl of wings.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Don't you also have to check for Vigorous Motion & for taking damage?

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

I don't think so. I was stationary for the casting, and if I'm not hit during the actual casting, damage from before shouldn't matter.

Casting defensively is just to avoid an AoO, but I don't think any other factors were in play there. Then again, I'm not perfectly familiar with all of the situations where concentration checks come in, so I could be wrong.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

From what I understand since you tried casting before my next turn you have to check for those factors. I could be wrong.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Moved to the arena discussion.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Fleshworm Infestation(5/11 Rounds Remaining):
FORT Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

Bestow Curse Will save: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 7 - 2 = 24

Starting at L12.
Move: Sheathe Sword
Move: Animate Shield
Free: Retrieve Bow
Free: 5-Foot Step to K12

Dammit, that's why I hate using [save] negates! Give me a partial any day >_<

Anywho, so, you stepped to directly under me? Well, 5-foot step (5-foot flap?) to J13, still at ceiling height, and Full attack, without using deadly aim, since I would like to get some freakin damage in :/

Attack: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (1) + 21 = 22, 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 27
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15, 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

...Neither of those hit, do they? Yeesh. Divine Favor 6/10 I think. Forgot to track it for a round.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

You can't go to J13. Diagonals count as 10 feet in this arena.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Whoops, correct, I guess. I forgot about that, though honestly, with the lack of obstacles in the air, I kinda just picked one.

K13 it is, then.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Likewise, full attack! Archery full attacks, I am willing to trade on, methinks.

Attack: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26, 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14, 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Gorik lets out a grunt as two arrows slam home, before chuckling. "So, you do know how to use a sissy little girl bow, huh?" he says, before loosing two arrows back.

Full attacking once more.

1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24

Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Gorik spits in disgust. What the hell am I doing, he thinks to himself, shaking his head.

I figured we'd get some crits if we just kept shooting :P

Alright, one more full attack to see if I've got any luck on this, if not, things are gonna get... intense.

Attack: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (18) + 21 = 39
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17

Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Hmm... I'm not entirely placated by this, but it helps.

Also, Divine Favor 3/10. Gettin' low :(

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

I have used 9 Arrows. You have used 11 Arrows.

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Are you sure? I thought I tallied them up correctly, but I might have been off. Did you include the ones from the other thread, before our break?

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Mine I already have subtracted. I don't know about yours sorry.

2 Hits! you take 22 Damage! & yes I am cheating myself out of another round of shooting.
END OF TURN

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

Damn, at 34 health. All right, puttin' on my serious face.

Gorik lets out an angry yell as two more arrows found their mark. "Alright, I'm getting tired of this crap!" he yells.

Lifting a hand high, golden light coalesces on it before he throws it forward, sending a beam of light shooting down.

Standard action for Searing Light, requiring a ranged touch attack.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28

So, quite confident that hits. Also, I'm going to assume that you are probably not an undead creature, or an undead that is particularly vulnerable to light? :P

Damage: 5d8 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 7, 2) = 18

18 damage, and Gorik is moving behind a pillar for cover. Move action to G16. I'm kind of going to hope that is suitable cover, cuz I have trouble telling.

Female Human Fighter(Two-Weapon Warrior) 11

Fleshworm Infestation(1/11 Rounds Remaining): Fort save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

END OF TURN

Male Half-Orc Oracle 11

P4? That's a bizarre place to go to... I expected you to be on my ass, trying to secure the kill :P

Since I'll need to do it anyway if I win, move action to pull out a wand of CLW, and standard to activate it.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Woot for a high recovery. I was worried I was gonna get 2.
