Endless Ammunition enhancement: Why only bows and crossbows again?

Any logical reason why firearms were excluded ?

There's the pistol of infinite sky... which is theoratically a +5 endless ammunition pistol.

Care to explain why they made a specific firearm but not the ability to apply endless ammunition to firearms ?

too "broken" perhaps?

Designers usually don't just put restrictions in for no reason.

Reasons: (pick one or a few)

1) Fluff reasons
2) Superiority of bows/crossbows is normal by designers (look at new Falcon bracers or something that boosts crossbow/bows to 19-20/x3)
3) They forgot them
4) Unmentioned reason

Silver Crusade

I would imagine its to keep Fireamrms more exclusive. In the 'Emerging Guns' campaign a single bullet costs a gold. The feat Gunsmithing reduces it to 10 bullets per gold, making them the same cost as Bolts. Arrows are still 20/gold. Also, you can't recover bullets, so that makes them twice as expensive again.

I personally see no reason 'not' to make it available to players, its a +2 enchantment which could be better used (bane & keen, holy, etc), espeacilly as the ability specifies its normal ammuntion (ofcourse enchanced by any other magics the weapon holds) but its not going to give you infinite admantite bullets or alchemical cartridges.

It'd cost someone 8,000g to get it. They'd have to fire their weapon 8,000 times to make it worth it (or 80,000 if they have Gunsmithing), not worth it IMO.

*EDIT* even if they or a fellow crafter cut the costs in half you're looking at 4,000/40,000 firings to just break even.

Does the Endless Ammunition enhancement apply to slings?

No.

Using a firearm is even more expensive than you think (unless I misunderstand the rules) as each shot requires a dose of Black powder each of which costs 10gp

You can also use Gunsmithing to make black powder, though I think it comes out to 1 gp per dose.

It's even more expensive if you want to actually use rapid shot or your iteratives. Alchemical cartridges are 12 gold each, and Gunsmithing only reduces the cost to make them by half. At six gold per shot, combat can get expensive quickly.
