Making deites

Homebrew and House Rules

I apologize for my bad spelling but I'm making a few deities for my campaign but I'm not 100% on the criteriar required to make a well put together god/ religion if someone could explain how they have made them or give me an example or template I'd be very greatful thank you

I did a quick search and found this thread - it may help: Pantheon Design.

Additionally, I'm assuming you own the books, so with that in mind, look at the deities listed in the books - they're a decent "template" for use with design.

Dark Archive

5 domains including those for alignment, 5 subdomains and 1 favored weapon.

Silver Crusade

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You will need:

an alignment
a set of concerns they cover (harvest, death, trade, sleep, etc.)
5 domains that match their areas of interest
a favored weapon
who their worshipers are
what their role in the multiverse is
how their faith is viewed by other faiths
a few important things the god has done/supported
a holy symbol (such as a flaming sword or a flayed rat)
what the faith expects of its followers (critical if you want the PCs to care)

You can use the readouts on the various gods of Golarion in the Inner Sea World Guide as examples to get the feel of it.
