Alternate Animal Companion

I was wanting to take a different animal companion possibly a magical beast as an animal companion. After much research i haven't found any restrictions as to which animals you can and cannot pick, specifically for a society character. If anyone could refer me to where the rules are located at it would be much appreciated.

The rules are located in the Core Rulebook and the PFS FAQ. You cannot take a magical beast as an animal companion, according to the core rules.

The lists are pretty much spelled out in the relevant class rules.So yeah the restrictions are there, also there are further relevant bits in the Campaign Guide.

There is no archetype which will give you magical beasts as animal companions at all.

Well, you can however have a HUGE Flying Triceratops with wings by taking Paladin Archetype to level 12, and one level of Mammoth Rider. Heck you can even have the chance to see an Elephants Fly =)... then take a class of wizard so you can have a raven to sing about it!
