Read this last night. Loved it. Great script and art. Seemed to capture the essence of the characters. Loved the guest stars. I will not give spoilers so everyone can enjoy it. Can't wait for the second issue.

Where is this comic?
http://paizo.com/pathfinder/comics. Also at your favorite comic shop.

The 8th Dwarf |

8th Dwarf: Kyra is one of the main characters in the comic, and will be a major part of events moving forward.
Thank you.
Erik and Vic the time you guys dedicate to your customers is one of the things that make Paizo such an excellent company.
The comic looks very good on the iPad and I am looking forward to the next issue.

Art style grows on you so I'm fine with it now. Having another comic besides Drizzt stuff is rather nice too. I do still hope to see Seltyiel make an appearance (as does my wife for more obvious reasons) but as it stands its not so bad. Valeros MIGHT grow on me so here's hoping for that but I worry he's too much the frat boy type.

We don't have final delivery dates for number 2, but we're told it's running late. We should see solicitation info for #3 soon.
My mistake; we already had #3 listed; it's #4 that we're expecting.
I've just posted most of the covers for #2; we're just missing the paizo.com exclusive and the Tyler Walpole standard cover (which was originally announced as a Dave Dorman cover).

The Block Knight |

Just noticed this thread. I posted my comments regarding the first issue elsewhere in another thread but I suppose this will be the go-to thread to discuss the comic going forward? Or will there eventually be a specific thread or sub-forum for such discussion?
Anyway, I'll re-post here what I said in the other thread:
I really enjoyed the first issue for the most part. I've been reading comics for as long as I've been into gaming (a little over 20 years) and aside from a few nitpicks it was pretty decent over all. I'm looking forward to the next one. From a technical comics standpoint, well done.
From a Golarion setting standpoint, however, I have a bigger bone to pick. Everything was well portrayed for the most part, especially the characters, except for The Rusty Dragon. I don't know, maybe it's just me and perhaps my personal vision of The Rusty Dragon in Sandpoint is waaaay off but. . . the inside of this tavern seems more like something I'd expect in Kaer Maga. The artist's interpretation just doesn't jive for me; mysterious figures in the background wearing bizarre masks, giant brutish thugs with muscles that would make Rob Liefeld proud (they're practically giants), and just general all-around craziness that just doesn't really fit with my idea of such a bucolic town.
I'm really looking forward to more issues and my opinions on the comic so far are mostly positive. My nitpicking is mostly minor at this point.
Cheers,
Tony

To be fair it does say that the Rusty Dragon is the go to place for adventurers going to or passing through sandpoint I think the comic was trying to show that with bunch of exotic somewhat out there characters (Might have gotten more than a wee bit carried away admitadly.)

Overall, I loved it. Great 1st issue!
As a Pathfinder GM, I loved seeing the iconics, the story set in Varisia, and the RPG elements at the end of the issue.
As a comics fan, this was a great intro comic that had a better blend of action & character development than most superhero team books are able to pull off in an intro issue.
My nitpick - sometimes Valeros' armor seemed Dragon Age-ish in that it seemed too large/exaggerated.
My only gripe - What spell did Seoni cast in the tavern? Because it sure didn't seem to match up with anything on her character write-up. And no, I don't care that it's a comic book. If it's going to be based on a RPG, it better adhere to the rules/laws of that universe. With 3 casters in the party, they can't fall into the usual (lazy) comic-book-magic trope of "he/she can cast whatever the plot dictates".
Eagerly awaiting issue #2!

I'm glad you enjoyed issue #1 and hope it keeps hitting the mark for you as the series continues.
Seoni cast the 0-level spell Daze on the brute in the tavern so he took no actions against her.
I'm writing to the stats and the Paizo gang are double-checking things as well to make sure it's do-able within the confines of the rules. :)

Gah! Thanks.
Damn cantrips! I always overlook them. (hangs head in shame)
Thanks again.

No worries. I wanted to make sure you knew we're on top of things. I'm a lifelong tabletop gamer and having the chance to work on this series is a real thrill for me. We're determined to do it right. :)

I just finished the 3rd installment of the Pathfinder Comic and am happy to report that I love the series. The story is fun and the artwork a fun brain tickle. One of the [many] reasons I'm going to continue my subscription is the additional content information at the back of each issue. This adds a lot for me; new things to do, see, and play with in Varisia. As another poster said, this could really help Pathfinder newcomers.
One thing I would LOVE to see - a DETAILED map of the area the characters are in. I have many of the maps for this area but can't find some of the locations (e.g., Shank Wood). A two-page spread would make me as happy as a clam in the sand where no one is digging! If what I just read on the forum is true, and this story arc is 6-issues, it would be a great piece of chewy content for the final issue in the arc. Would it not? Maybe one version with the paths traveled by the characters? Oh, I know, I've gone too far. I beg for your forgiveness.
Keep up the great work on the comic, team!

Huerta's art style isn't exactly to my taste, but I can look past that and concentrate on the characterisation and other material.
(Poor ol' Ezren just can't catch a break, either. I wonder what Seoni's scowl was meant to be saying to him, though: perhaps, "Why do you bother? You should know better by now." or just plain "Give it a rest, willya!")One thing I would LOVE to see - a DETAILED map of the area the characters are in. FWIW, Shank's Wood appears on the map of the Sandpoint hinterlands in the Rise of the Runelords AP, the Anniversary Edition, and the associated map-folio. It's along the Lost Coast Road, due east of the Old Light and Ravenroost; west of Pauper's Graves, the Nettlewood, and Thistletop; south of the Three Cormorants and their promontary; and north of Tickwood, the Turandarok River, and Devil's Platter. ;)

Loving this series so far. I find the story and characterizations of the iconics perfect. While the art isn't my typical cup of tea, I don't dislike it. I don't know if it's intentional or not or if the style is used in all of the artist's work, but for me, it brings a sense that Golarion is a dark, dangerous place. While Paizo art is often very pretty, the less-than-pretty facial expressions of some of the characters shows that combat isn't pretty -- at all.
It reminds me of the first time I played Dragon Age: Origins and after the first battle, the next dialogue scene has everyone talking while covered in blood spatter...
I'm also loving the RPG content included in each comic. Keep 'em coming!

It has been a little disappointing, but hopefully nothing to worry about:
Dynamite have shown some covers of the next issue.
This shows a couple of cool covers for #6.
Presumably #5 is around there too somewhere.

A few thoughts ...
The setting content is fantastic and a big draw for me. The art-style is growing on me. The story is good.
My biggest critique is that the characters are being portrayed in a sort of over the top archetypical way. I would much rather more subtlety when it comes to the characterization. This may be a factor of the whole genre of comics, I'm not sure. With that said, I do like that it seems some character elements are beginning to come to the fore in the last couple issues.
