In PFS scenarios, why are skill check DCs the same for different tiers?

It seems that, based on the limited number of scenarios I have looked at, the DCs never change whether you are playing up or down. Since many faction missions are dependent on the ability to execute a specific skill check, it seems that the skill check DCs would be a little more level appropriate. Has this already been kicked around? Under consideration for change in season 4? If it's repetitive to a previous thread, I apologize in advance.

This has bothered a lot of people, as I understand it.

In Season 4, however, my understanding is that you won't have faction missions in the way you're used to. Instead, each faction will have a general goal and it's up to each player to find opportunities to further those goals. Doing so will get you your faction prestige point, subject to GM discretion.

I'm fuzzy on the details, but that's what I've got off the top of my head.

Sometimes the DCs do change, I believe. For instance, I think the skill checks in Pallid Plague are relatively easy at the low tier and fairly tough at the higher tiers.

EDIT: Oh, I see you're specifically referring to faction missions, not just skill checks in general.

Many times, if a DC is the same for all tiers, it is because the DC is set by something that doesnt change in the tier itself. For example, if the story has to do with you possibly falling in the water and you have to make a Swim check, the water isnt likely going to be choppier and harder to swim through just cause you are playing in the high tier (unless it's written by Hitchcock).

I guess I was focusing on skill DCs in general, and pointed out that they are often important to faction mission, which adds a little bit extra desire to make that skill check.

Some DCs are static, based on the Core Rules of the game. Thus, having them scale with tier would require actually changing the environment, which requires a bigger chunk of the word count, etc.

Looking at you, chase scene in God's Market Gamble.

I agree that if there's multiple tiers, there should be multiple DCs based on those tiers. Especially if, for example, the scenario has 6 sub-tiers. Just sayin'..
