I found a great way to store the pawns

I would still like to see boxes made to store these pawns from Paizo.

I think the best way to go about this would be to have an insert made to fit inside Bestiary Box to utilize the packaging of the pawns as a storage container.

I found the baseball card sleeves to be too large for my Large pawns. The business card sleeves work better. I haven't been able to find a satisfactory solution for the Huge ones.

I don't want boxes for my pawns...I'd much rather have sleeves so I can keep them in a binder. What I've got works okay for that so far but I still don't have anything I like for my Smalls and Huges. I didn't want to order the slide sleeves because they seem kind of pricy but I might have to do that next.

I agree the slide sleeves are a little pricey at $10.62, but they hold so much and you are getting 25 sheets in the package. The Business card sleeves are like $2.18, but you only get 10 sheets.

The math works out to about 42 cents per page or 3 cents a pocket for the slide sheets.

On the other hand you are paying 22 cents a page or 3 cents a pocket for the business card sheets. If you stuff them full of 3 mediums, then it's essentially less than a cent per pocket.

I rounded up for all my calculations.

They also have a bulk package for the slide sheets if you want to save about $10. They are 100 sheets for $30.75.

This brings the slide sheets down to 31 cents a page or 2 cents a pocket.

It will take a while to go through all 100 pages though. The bestiary box, the rise of the runelords pawns, and the bestiary box only went through maybe 10 sheets at the most. That includes both larges and smalls using those pages. If you have a subscription to the pawns, then it may not be a bad idea to stock up.

I went ahead and ordered one of the 25 sheet packaged slide sleeves. Hopefully that'll last me for a while, even with my subscription. I also got the photo sleeves you posted, since they look pretty good for the Huge pawns. Thanks for posting the pictures of your binder! That was very helpful for making the decision.

I got some "2x2 pockets storage" $3.95 for 10 shipped (I only needed 2) on eBay. Also got 10 5x7 2 pocket pages for the same price, which I converted to 4-pocket pages by adding staples down the middle. The seller I used was my_fatbelly.

Basically you can fit 3 medium sized pawns in one business card slot and one large sized monster will fit in sideways. I know a few people were asking for good ways to store these and I think this works great. I keep the PCs separate and have the monsters alphabetized to easily find them. I imagine any business card holder sheet would work, but I have only tried the one linked.

I have all my Beginner Box pawns in 6 sheets, but if I wanted to I could probably get it down to 3 or 4 sheets by combining monsters in the same business card sleeve. I like to keep my monsters separated for whatever reason.

For the pawns I've got out for the current adventure I use a Really Useful Box.

One of the compartments holds several small or medium pawns mounted on 1" bases, and is also large enough to hold large pawns if they are laid flat.

The boxes are available in most of the large office supply store chains, but the interior trays are a bit harder to find - I get mine from Orchard Supply Hardware. You can fit two trays in a 4L box, or four trays in the 9L size.

My slide sheets arrived yesterday. They seem to work okay but I'm a little worried about some of the pawns slipping free if I pick up the binder the wrong way. The pawns slide around in the pockets pretty freely. I'm glad I didn't order too many of them, because I think it's an imperfect solution.

What I want now is a sheet organized similarly that can be sealed easily. Maybe I should just start using ziplock bags.

I did that at first. It is a worse solution. I find the business card sleeves to be the best.

Check out coin holder pages. Different sizes and most I've seen have a flap to keep the coins in. I'm waiting on some that according to measurements should be perfect size for small pawns.

I found the easiest solution to making sure you don't pick up the binder upside down. I used binder that have the pocket on the cover. I printed out the cover of the Bestiary box and walla, can't miss which side is the top. :)

I found this guy's method on YouTube. I really like it, especially since I can still use the pretty box! I decided to redo mine in this method, though all of the unique BB and RotRL pawns are not mixed in with the others, but in their own line.

I picked up the slide sheets and the pawns fit nicely but loose. All was good until my dog trotted across the table knocking the box and sleeves to the floor.

So I think I am going to take the labeled zip lock baggie suggestions.

I don't like the boxed suggestion of the YouTube video as you are always pawing through the collection to find what you want, and take too many and they all fall down and mix up.

Scrapbooking suppliers/stores have great storage stuff for things like the pawns. I think Creative Memories even has some protectors that have multiple sizes in one sheet so you could put the huge pawns in half and the smaller pawns on the other half if you don't need one whole sheet for just huge pawns. That is what I use!

Also, some brands of these used for scrapbooking have flaps that cover them so you don't have to worry about them falling out, spills, kids or dogs, lol!

I followed the advice of the OP, and bought the business card sleeves. They work perfectly! For anyone who doesn't have a tight fit - you might check to see if you bought used, or if you got the right part number. I went ahead and ordered a second pack (@ < $3, it's hard to beat), and I look forward to storing my customs and the Paizo-issued minatures safely! :D

Update: I have the Bestiary Box, now, to add to the task of storing the PFBB tokens and the (plethora of) BB monsters.

One pack of the card holders (10 sheets w/ 10 sleeves per sheet) is 2x as much as needed for just the PFBB. For the Bestiary Box, the sheer number of tokens demands another 20 sheets. For those keeping track, that's 2.5 boxes of sheets (25 sheets in all). Since I only had two boxes (20 sheets), I culled out some of the less likely "large" monsters. I did include all of the small/tiny/etc monsters, sticking them behind a medium-sized token in near-alphabetical position.

I have no solution for the Huge-size or larger tokens. For now, I'll let them rattle around in the box.

Even with the small/tiny/etc tokens, this solution still works really well, but requires a large binder. I'm using a 3" ring, and that's barely sufficient.

I would be interested in Paizo providing an "official" storage solution or tip or off-hand suggestion!

Plano Tackle boxes are good too. I got the entire bestiary box into 2 Plano 2-3750 storage containers. That includes all tokens and all bases. I have found that these work good for staring pieces for most any games

I started storing my Bestiary Box pawn in a 3-ring binder.

I have finish my medium pawn. I used BCW Pro 20-Pocket Tobacco Page. One medium pawn per pocket. The pawns short but they fit very well side to side. I will try and post a picture.

I used business cards holder for the large.

What do people use for the small pawns?

I put my pawns into the business card sheets, but its a bit of a hassle to flip all the pages. Because some pawns slide out as I turn the pages. Therefor I don't use the pawns very much. I would like to ultimately store them sideways alphabetical by creature type and just be able to flip through them. Scanning the name's.

I have been looking for a storage solution to do this but the Plano boxes are too small for the large pawns.

A parts chest with drawers in it would work great. I could label the drawers, but I can't find a store nearby with a good selection of them.

Not all plano boxed are too small for the large pawns. I got the bestiary (and bases) into two 3750 boxes and each of the other two set into a single 3750 box for each.

I just took a medium, large, and huge sized pawn with me to wal-mart and bought 2 tacklebox inserts (dont remember the brand/model number ill post those here when i get home). The ones I bought are divided in half with the uppersection divided up for the medium and the other half open for the large and huge sized pawns.

It took 2 boxes to fit all of the currently released pawns sorted alphabetlicy (RotRL, Beast. box, and beginner box) though I think three would be better so i could seperate the large pawns better.

I was just considering taking the pawn sheets and gluing a sheet of carboard to one side with a finger sized hole through which to pop the pawns out. That should give them some stability and make them easily removable still.

That's what I was going to do as well.

That way the original box can be used and if they are kept in numerical order on the sheet it would be easy finding the pawns you need.

For those looking for a no-cost way to do this, check on this guy's video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0w8nrxAo7I Makes the storage a snap. It's worked really well for me. I just xeroxed the numerical chart on the back of the box, and use it to reference the pawn number in-game.

Update! So I got my holders yesterday. The "coupon holders" are perfect for huge pawns. The only downside is that the pawns had the tendency to move and if someone were to turn it upside down, out would pour everything. Today I bought a half inch roll of double sides scotch tape and put a small amount inside the top of each slot. It worked perfect. They are beautifully laid out, alphabetical, and easy to find in a pinch. I put up to 3 pawns in 1 pouch. Ie I have 5 treats so there are 2 in one pouch and 3 in the other.

The coin holders for the small worked much the same. I found that I could put two pawns per pouch, and as I bought 2 Beastiary 1 boxes, this worked perfectly. It is very symmetrical and clean. Because of the same issue I was having with the huge pawns and them sliding out I used the double sided tape here too. To test I turned my 4" 3-ring binder over and shook. Not one fell out.

As it stands I have a binder for huge, large, medium and small monsters. 1 for each. And I am afraid to tackle the NPC codex as it has a great amount of variability and I want to keep all those in the set together. I'll most likely end up using just business card holders and double sided tape for small pawns. It is a fun way to show off creatures!

I bought coin holding pages, and they only work for Medium (and smaller) tokens, and then I have to tape the tops to keep the tokens from sliding out (especially cardstock-printed ones rather than official ones).

For the NPC Codex Box, I just use the original box.

I just realized there is a downside to this when it comes to specially-named pawns: since many the AP pawn sets include named NPCs, and since the NPC Codex Box names all the pawns according to their description in the Codex (i.e., "Death Priest," "Contract Killer," etc.), it is important to be able to visually scan the pictures to get what I'm looking for.

So I'm considering the Plano boxes because it's so much easier to take the pawns in and out, but only for the Beginner Box and Bestiary sets since they're easier to navigate when alphabetized. And then I'll stick with a business-card binder for NPCs. (And I'm thinking of subdividing those into Male Human, Female Human, Male Other Humanoid, Female Other Humanoid, Monstrous NPCs.)

I put my BB pawns in a plastic "craft/hobby box" which I picked up for about £2 in my local Home Bargains store (UK).

It's flat, semi-translucent plastic box with lots of little dividers in it, each section perfectly sized for pawns. There's even room for the plastic stands and dice too.

You can pick these up very cheap in craft shops (for storing buttons and beads) and DIY stores (for different sizes of screws, nails etc).

I lucked out by finding one that fits EXACTLY inside the BB box itself! If I can find a link to the exact make and model, I'll post it here.

So, I set out to do the same thing for my Pathfinder Pawns.

I used one plastic bin and one original bestiary box. Together they fit all of the following sets:

2x PF Pawns Beastiary 1
1x PF Pawns Beastiary 2
1x PF Pawns Skulls and Shackles
1x PF Pawns Rise of the Runelords

I'm not the OP, but you can get foam board from most art, craft, and office supply stores (and online). Check the framing and presentation sections, as it's often used as a backing for large prints and photos.

Heavyweight chipboard (similar to/the same stuff as the pawns) could also work, though it'd cost more.

If you're cutting a lot of foam or foam-core boards, you'll want a sharp knife or fresh box cutter blade. It dulls blades pretty fast.
