Built on 10 points using the Advanced Race Guide playtest. It's outdated for sure, and I took some liberties with trimming down the plant type (8 RP for a lot of traits that didn't really fit; just needed the type). I'm getting hyped about Guild Wars 2, mostly just because of this race, hence what you see below; I'm not in beta, so my information on them is drawn purely from information I've tracked down online.
Sylvari
Medium Fey (1 RP) (half-plant) (5 RP) - 30 ft speed
+2 Dex, +2 Cha, -2 Wis; Sylvari are nimble and charming, but they were born last night (quite likely).
• Sylvari gain a +2 bonus on saves against all paralysis and stun effects.
• Sylvari are immune to sleep effects.
• Sylvari breathe and eat, but do not sleep, unless they want to gain some beneficial effect from this activity. This means that a sylvari can sleep in order to regain spells, but sleep is not required to survive or stay in good health.
• Camouflage (1 RP): Gain a +4 racial bonus on Stealth checks while in marshes or forested areas.
• Sylvari Magic (3 RP): Sylvari with a Charisma of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/Day -- detect plants, goodberry, negate aroma. The caster level for these effects is equal to the sylvari's level. The DC for these spells is equal to 10 + the spell's level + the sylvari's Charisma modifier.
• Languages: Sylvari begin play speaking sylvan. Sylvari with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following bonus languages: Common, Elven, Tengu, Halfling, and Draconic.
[Note: The racial languages are just for my setting.]

It is a lot of guessing (and creative liberty based on such). There are sites that have certain information though, such as racial abilities (one of which is an entangle effect, which seems too good to be a SLA on a 10 RP race). They ARE plants, but there are too many immunities that come along with that, so I watered it down.
I guess I wouldn't call this a "race conversion" so much as a "race inspired by" kind of thing. I thought about doing the Charr as well, but they don't seem like they would translate well. They're huge-looking and have all sorts of wicked natural weapons built into their appearance.
The Asura might work, and I'm more interested in them than the Charr, but something about them makes me think of gnomes and... ugh. Hopefully that notion fades as I learn more about them.
Norns are basically lycanthropes from what I can tell.

I like the idea about Asura but name makes me twich (we have those and GW Asuras have little claim to the mythological name as far as I can tell) and graphics (I would seriously rework the construction of their ears - bended down make them look too innocently-plushy).
These asura concepts I prefer to these. (if only those from second picture had different ears...)
I have to read about Silvari more.
