Anyone know how?

They haven't added scrolls of identify this time?

I haven't found any yet since release, but prior to release right-clicking on the item identified it.

Right click and wait. Lol.

If identifying is available at will, what is the point of it anyway? Why can't items auto-identify on pickup? :|

My thoughts exactly, Drek.

Grand Lodge

I was thinking it seemed kind of pointless.

It's like the ability to make a mundane attack with a weapon when playing a monk: it's there but it's pointless, since shooting lightning bolt with your fists doesn't cost you anything.

I sort of like the anticipation of what-will-it-be-what-will-it-be for the all of three seconds it takes to identify the item.

Yeah, I guess this is why they have done that.

I've heard one possible reason for keeping in identification is for the Auction House. You can likely auction unidentified items and it becomes a bit of a lottery.

Liberty's Edge

Once you identify an item and put it in the auction house, can others see the properties of the item, too? Or is the person that wins auction going to have to ID it agian?

Good point and it becomes a kind of lottery for everyone, the buyer and seller.

Edit: What would be a good price for something that one know's nothing about? 1,000G?

I'm not sure but if someone you play with online identifies and item and then give it to you, the item will be already identified for you. I think it works the same way with the auction house (identified items are identified for everyone)

USe Cain's book located above or near your stash, and it will ID stuff in your inventory.
