Paragraph spacing issues?

Website Feedback

Has anyone else experienced when writing a post with multiple paragraphs that once you finally submit the post, it sometimes condenses the paragraphs together? There is no spacing between the paragraphs. However, if you go to edit it, it still shows the spacing between both paragraphs. I have found no workaround for it.

It is not a huge deal, I just thought I would throw it out and see if I am the only one experiencing this.

I usually find it between the first and second paragraphs of a post.

Subsequent paragraphs seem to space properly most of the time.

Example 1.

Example 2.

It seems to effect text in "reply" posts.

This is a test. Here is a line break:

Did it work?

You know, I never noticed if it only happened in reply posts, but you very well may be right.

Not really sure why it does it. Maybe Gary would be able to figure it out. But I'm sure this problem probably isn't real high on the 'need to fix' list.

Indeed. The BBCode stuff probably needs a rewrite at some point but we aren't sure exactly when that's going to be. Some stuff got shuffled a while back when we made the site more strict, which is actually technical term for the way the site is rendered and the way strict displays spacing is, well, more strict, so certain shortcuts don't work like they used to. That said, with it in a more strict mode, we can more accurately predict how things will look on a page between various browsers, which means we can add some more goodies without having to account for as much browser weirdness.

But to sum up, it's on the list, just with the other things and the fact that doing it right will probably take a lot more effort than it would seem like it should, it's not extremely high up there.
