Kid Passes?

I have two young children that would not be participating in the games but may have to tag along, if my wife and I came. Would I have to purchase passes for them as well?

This is actually a stickier issue than it appears at first blush. We will be discussing this tomorrow, and coming up an official policy that is fair to both you and your fellow conventioneers.

This is, sadly, the kind of question that requires input from lawyers.

Every attendee will need to be ticketed, and anyone under 18 who is not constantly accompanied by a parent or other legal guardian will need to have that guardian sign a waiver.

So my 4 yr old and 2 yr old boys that will be there will need a ticket? My wife will be buying a ticket, but if they need tickets as well I'll probably advise my wife to go elsewhere while I'm there.

If they want to be in the convention area—which is pretty much the entire bottom floor of the hotel except for the lobby in front of the check-in-desk—yes, they'll need a ticket.

Can you do Cheaper tickets for children under a certain age?

Offering child tickets would send the message that the con is full of fun things for kids to do, and it really isn't. While some bright kids certainly play, our assumption is that our products, and therefore our con programming, are focused at ages 13 and above.

Sessions can be age/maturity rated as 17+, which really makes it inappropriate to have young children present in the area.
