Yeah, that's about right. Haven't had one in years. My current medical leave doesn't count.

If I don't count the medical leave I had to take around my foot surgery (already ten years ago...I am getting old), my last Märchen was a year befor I got my Abitur (~High School diploma), so 1995...
My last vacation that I remember, and days taken to work the anime convention don't count, was somewhere between 2002 and 2007. My mother and I drove to Minneapolis, and back, to visit my youngest brother and his wife.

Let's face it, whatever year it was, the last vacation is always too long ago ;-)

*nods* Would have liked to go to Paizocon, but Tekko ate all my money. Maybe next year. :)

My next 'workation' is GenCon (half vacation, half volunteering HQ work).
I haven't taken a 'get away from *everything/everyone* vacation in... decades -- they've typically been 'work while I'm off' jobs.
I work from home, so I didn't bother to take the day off. Been mostly brushing up on my SQL, my piano, and my character sheet (haven't updated it since Saturday's session).
Got a lot of time to work on my various ( unfinished ) programming projects.

Ah, a "staycation," then. :)
Downloaded PCGen. This is something that I'll use a lot.

Thanks everyone *hugs*...I like the way it looks. My guess it will be a little too big...but it should be close enough. I just can not wait to try it on.

Well-fitting clothing is a huge ego boost. Back in the day, good department stores would take in seams, raise and lower hems, and sometimes adjust darts so that even off-the-rack clothing was tailored to your specific shape.
Cosplay and theater people may have friends who are handy with pins and needles.

Let's hope the working days go quickly! My hand is so itchy from a few mosquito bites (my wife and I went out berry picking/Pokémon catching) that I want to cut the dang thing off ;-;

Well, everyone, it seems that I have been well and truly f**ked by the benefits department of my employer. I have deliberately been given substandard health insurance, and there's nothing I can do about it until October. I'm very seriously considering handing my Notice to Quit.

Careful John, quitting is easy, reestablishing oneself and finding a good new job is another barrel of fish...
Which is why I'm asking for advice and other's opinions before I do anything.

You can find it at any drug store and it's the only thing that really worked for me when it came to severe itching.

Generally speaking, you should not quit a job with crappy health insurance until you have lined up a job with better health insurance.
+2 to Selene and Zelgadas

Also, gently inquiring with legal assistance may be in order, on the side, to see what if anything can be done, as this appears to be a bit... shady at best?

True. I'm no lawyer, but it seems that they added Life Insurance in an attempt to get around the ACA's definition of insufficient coverage.

Good morning! Ahhh, friends from across the pond! It's fine, I'm likely to still be messy-haired and pajama-clad at 2:40PM in the States regardless. :P
