One of my players is talking about playing a necromancer (specializing in destroying the undead), and I was wondering what effect if any the necromancer's turn undead or control undead might have on the many, many haunts in Harrowstone. Turn undead seems like it ought to do something (maybe treat it as regular channelling?) Not sure about control. Someone has to have run into this before.

Haunts are not undead like zombies and skeletons. They are more like magical traps. There is little explicitly stated on how to harm them, instead it is left up to the GM on a case by case basis. When I ran it, I let them smash holy water or CLWs, channel positive energy, and cast cure spells. Turn undead sounds like it should work to pacify the haunt (effectively doing damage), but I don't think control should have much work.
But if they do try it, you can get a bit of fun story stuff in:
This is referencing the fact that the Splatterman is in charge of the haunts. You could swap it out with other lines about faint pipe music, rattle of chains, etc depending on which ghosts are left. The haunts won't be fully removed until all five ghosts are taken care of.
