I'm bringing Tirlan! Dibs on Dinks table!!!!

Scarab Sages 1/5

Sweet! APL-South is running thru the quest for perfection series. All those crazy Tian factions are hard to keep track of. Do we shoot these guys in the face? Are we friends with these guys? Good times.

Scarab Sages 4/5

The event I was scheduled to be at on the 12th of May has to rebook their venue and I am now available to attend GeekOut 2012. I will be there. Getting signed up to run events on the Warhorn site now. I will bring 3-EX Cyphermage Dilemma the special for this year and then will take requests for the other two slots I bring. I will bring the entire 3rd season with me and will be able to run anything you want and I will even bring some prizes and give-a-ways too.

If you don't need me to run I would LOVE to play. I will be bringing the kids with me too so that will be 4 more people to help fill tables, just remember my kids are blood-thirsty players :-)

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Yay! Here's my thought, DC. Let us APL people treat you to a Day to Play. I'm betting you didn't get to play on GM's day. Ashevegas ia a truly hospitable place, and though I would love to see the Cyphermage dilemma, Asheville is a place to play!

Scarab Sages 4/5

Sounds good to me. We will come ready to play. I'll bring my GM stuff with me and if I can get in their early enough on Friday, maybe I can run 3-EX Cyphermage Dilemma at Hillside Friday evening or Sunday before I leave.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

I have GOBLINS... lots of GOBLINS.

Yes. Yes we are.

Notice I used the word 'we'.

I'll be at Hillside tomorrow evening. I'll be running Defenders of Nesting Swallow, the long-delayed 3rd part to the Quest for Perfection series.

So Jake, bring your character. Leave your GM book at home.

See y'all tomorrow.

-Dink

That is awesome! But sadly I have already played Part III but u guys are in for a treat, it's one of the best in the season. (don't play up! U will die.)

I hope to get in on the other game though. I'm going through PFS withdrawals I haven't played in over a month and only 3 times sence S.C.A.R.A.B.

Scarab Sages 1/5

Aw, snap! Del is bringin' the SWAG TRAIN! Now it's a party! Be sure and extend the invite to any and all SCARAB peeps who want to come up the mountain. We're gonna have a good time!

Silver Crusade 5/5

DC be warned.... avoid Dalsine affair at my table if you love your toon.... ask Dain.... it's a PC shredder. Muhahaha

Great to hear, I'm glad you can make it. I would totally be up for some additional gaming...

Silver Crusade 4/5

We actually had a 3-4 game run last night! Only 3 players but we had a blast.

It was good to play Exalëbar again.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Kudos to all who came out last night. I almost had me a TPK but some summoner wrecked my plans. Nevertheless, I salute the fallen and had a blast playing with all y'all.

Next up: GeekOut!!!!!!!!! It's FREE!!! And it's at the Asheville Renaissance on May 12th!

And if you don't know about it: sign up for games HERE!!!!! Get thee there!!!!

PS. Jake, it looks like your 'Intro Steps' are almost completely full. I'm jealous.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Thats right.... what you got..... what? Halfling summoner got game yo.... just kidding... had a blast.

It was a good session. Great GMing (Thanks QC!), great comrades (thanks Jake and Goon) and there was even a sighting of the rare and elusive dinketry. GeekOut will be a lot of fun!

dinketry wrote:

I am full-up now :) Should be some fun tables. With 6 players the intros will probably be push overs... or just plain chaos...

I won't be pulling any punches, I will color spray... allot :P I love how cruel the intros can be if run right.

I have the flip mats for Intro III coming in the mail so that one will be flashy, and I have printouts of all Intro I maps. I just need to get some figs... This con should really make ya "geek out". (I know, bad joke...)

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Dude, you got all the ladies. They love those intro games, I guess;)

Scarab Sages 4/5

If I need to move the kids so some new players or those who have not played them can get in then I can do that. My kids have played them several times, but they are all wanting to kick off some new characters they have designed and that was just a great opportunity to get all three in one day. If I need to move them I can.

Silver Crusade 4/5

StrangePackage wrote:

:P both of the girls are Del's kids...

Scarab Sages 1/5

Yeah, I nearly murdered all of APL-South with that color spray in the intro mod.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Jake's call on that DCII, but I think "first come, first served" is valid.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Amigos... I am shopping for the young master Tirlan and I have come upon a commonly reoccurring question...

Can I buy him a +1 chain shirt for 1250gp since it is on the always available list or do I need to wait until I have 9 fame? It seems fuzzy since one paragraph says one thing and then in the next section it starts talking about max values of items blah blah blah. I may not anyway as 1000gp is a lot to dish out for a %5 less chance for a monster to hit you, but I was curious.

Also I signed up for the Sewer Dragons of Absalom but alas Tirlan is level 2... is he legal for that and if so is he liable to get waffle stomped...?

Counting the minutes to Geekout,
Luth

Silver Crusade 5/5

After look in the rules it seems that Sewer Dragons is out for a level 2 summoner... Sad Face... Could I talk Del into running Cyphermage at 10am since I'll be GMing when he runs it at 2pm??? :)

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Didn't Tirlan move up to level 3 with last Saturday's PFS play? If he did, then no worries. If he did not, you are not legal for Sewer Dragons as you will be beaten like an red-headed pinata.

And, to my knowledge about the +1 chain shirt, you need BOTH the money and the PAs to be able to buy it. The only exception to that would be if the +1 chain shirt was available to purchase on a scenario chronicle sheet, in which case you could buy it (at price) without needing the PAs.

I hope that helps, and yes, I am salivating for GeekOut as well. I might even go to the Zombie Prom!

Wait a sec, check that. I'm not going to Zombie Prom.

Oooh, one last thing. Thorynn, if we move fast, we might be able to get the Asheville Pathfinder Lodge up on the GeekOut website. If you look at the website, there's a list of participating groups/sponsoring groups running down the right side of the webpage.

I think that we may be able to get in there based simply on the sheer number of games (and/or gamers) that we're bringing to the game. I'd talk to the people on the Multiverse site for more info.

The debut of the APL Logo and t-shirts at GeekOut. Super sweet.

Sence +1 is on the always avalible sheet you do no need to meet a minimum fame.

The fame gp purches limit is for items not listed as always avalible.

Good to know... i'll stick with masterwork for now... since Tirlan can't do Sewer dragons i'll pick one of my yet to be played toons to throw at someone at 10am... :) can't wait

Thanks Strange :)

To add to that; the items listed on your Chronicle sheets are also added to your "Always available" list.

They did sign up first so they have the slot if they want it. I'm not going to kick um out :P

Well poop and poop. Looks like everyone else knows more about purchasing stuff in PFS than me. Maybe I'm rusty.

Not sure on this one. I think you still need the required Fame in order to have your purchase level meet the item cost, regardless.

That was the call I was given re: the handy haversack ... since Sarina does not have 13 Fame yet, she cannot purchase it due to the purchase gp limits.

EDIT: Nope, scratch that, just reread the equipment section and it looks like Jake is correct. Fame gp purchase limits are only for items purchased through your faction. Since it is on a Chronicle Sheet, Sarina will be grabbing that freaking HH. ;)

Correct Sewer Dragons is outside your tier, you have to be at least 3rd to play it.

Luthril wrote:

Yes. I am happy to run any Cypermage in that slot. I have it listed as player choice.

Jake Dodd wrote:

Yep and they play for blood and they have been through these before so if someone else that hasn't played wants to jump in they can move to another table.

Luthril wrote:

Always available means you can buy it regardless of Fame. Always available items are listed in the Guide and include anything on your chronicles.

Hey StrangePackage,

I noted that one of your peeps signed up on the WarHorn site for your early 'We Be Goblins' spot has signed up to play a 3rd level ninja.

You may want to let him know that that's not possible - though I find the implications of a 3rd level ninja trying to co-exist in the adventure with the other PCs HILARIOUS.

Just a note from a bored fellow at work awaiting GeekOut OH SO PATIENTLY.

-Dink

Liberty's Edge 2/5

I don't know how to contact players off Warhorn.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Hrrrmmm. Neither do I. Oh well.

Wait a second, let me try something...

*ahem*

Michael Jones? Michael Jones? Anyone? Anyone? Michael Jones? Bueller? Anyone? Anyone?

Oh well, it looks like you're going to have a ninja adventuring with a bunch of goblins. Unless of course, it's a ninja goblin.

OK, now I'm giggling again.

Well, they are supposed to go completely silent at the drop of a hat. How long they can remain silent, however ...

<chuckles at the thought of a goblin ninja moving all stealthy like only to burst out in cackling glee at having successfully positioned himself behind his target ...>

Silver Crusade 5/5

I had a goblin ninja in my hombrew game recently.... Ask Eagan and Aravandor how annoying and dangerous they can be.....

Scarab Sages 1/5

I know Mike, he doesn't frequent the forum. I'll see him tomorrow for a little DCCRPG so I'll remind him there are no ninjas in We Be Goblins. He'll also be the GM for the Shackles campaign down south.

Sczarni

Just wanted to thank everyone for a great time on Saturday. I felt very welcomed and everyone was great. Had a blast. Kudos to James and his Summoner Tirlan for pulling us through that final encounter. It was a great start for my first trip into PFS and thanks to Jake for the invite! Can't wait for Geekout and the intro games.

I know the games are going to be back to back and I am signed up for the straight 12 hours but what is going on for food and beverages? Will we have breaks for food or should be bring our own? Thanks.

Sovereign Court

I plan on following the standard Con route of packing in a couple drinks and some snacks (granola bars, etc) as a worst case scenario survival pack. ;)

Sczarni

Cool.

I was just finishing up my character for Geekout and had a question. When you receive the Gunslinger's weapon, it calls it battered. I found the section on broken weapons and its related penalties. Does a battered weapon have penalties?

Also one other question, under special for the Gunslinger it list deeds multiple times. Does this mean I only get to select one deed whenever it says deeds or for instance do I get all first level deeds when it says deeds under special? Thanks for any help.

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

Dear Varrian,

Welcome to the Lodge! It was great to have new enthusiastic blood.

As far as your Gunslinger questions go....

1.) Your gun works well for YOU. No one else. That's what I interpret 'battered' to mean. No penalties for you to use it; broken weapon penalties to everyone else.

2.) Each of the deeds is listed as belonging to a specific level. That's why deeds are listed multiple times - they refer to the new list of deeds that you get access to as you level. You get to perform deeds by spending grit points. If you have the grit points to spend, and you have access to the deeds based on your level (and the deeds accumulate as you level - you can still use 1st level deeds at 3rd level, for example), then you can use the deed. You can use the same deed multiple times in one day, if you have the grit points for it.

Clear as mud?

-Dink

Sczarni

Clear as mud thanks! :-)

Silver Crusade 5/5

So I'm going to prep both my scenarios for tier 1-2... and will scale them up when I see what the party before me presents...

Liberty's Edge 2/5

And I'm going to get in the mood to run We Be Goblins by sneaking out and setting fires randomly around town.

Silver Crusade 4/5

StrangePackage wrote:

I don't know if that's the best idea, we may end up with one fewer GM for the event...

Grand Lodge 5/5 * Venture-Captain, New Zealand—Dunedin

And killing horses! Don't forget to kill all the horses!

Nasty filthy horsies! Kills the horsies! Kill them! Stab them!

(indecipherable high-pitched jabbering and laughter)

Silver Crusade 5/5

Ok I lied, I'm prepping all 3 tiers for both scenarios... Just finished prepping Among the Living Tier 6-7... pray to God you don't qualify for this one... MUHAHAHAHA

Sczarni

If I wasn't in all three of the intro games my first choice would have been We Be Goblins. Sounded really fun.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

So just join We Be Goblins. There's no requirement you go thru all 3 Intros. :D

And yeah, Jake, I'm player poaching. What you gonna do!?
