Can a level 4 (assuming I survive the morning) sneak into "You Only Die Twice," which looks like it will be Tier 5-6, or would I have to run a pregen? If not, looks like I'll be bringing my cleric into Mists for the afternoon.
Jason
Sadly, the lower level limit for that scenario is 5, so you would not be able to bring that character in. You could always play a pre-gen....

Oops! I hadn't created an event on Paizo.com for this Saturday yet.
And now I have. We will be event #15461, for those GMs (*ahem* Luth) who want to get their chronicle sheets started.
Oh, and.....
WEEKLY WARHORN SIGN UP REMINDER!!!!
Big announcements to be had on Saturday. You'll want to be there at 5PM.
Happy Thursday, Pathfinders!

Ok, thanks. I figured. I'm just stuck at an in-between level for this week, I guess. I'm going to sign up for Mists, either to run my cleric through or to make a new character. I just have more fun playing my own character than a pre-gen, unless it's a special event/module.

Thanks Boss,
You read my mind... Working on it now :)... and looking forward to grouping with you in Justin's game at noon!... I'd run my Mwangi cleric but that would be 3 Clerics and I think we need a Tank more so it'll be the 23 AC Armor Master

So I found this:
http://paizo.com/forums/gbiipjeh/favorites?Clarifying-the-Playing-Up-Rule
which greatly clears things for me. So, I guess, technically a level 4 can play in a Tier 1-2, which I didn't realize. I would normally sign up for Quest for Perfection 3, since I did 2 last week (still need to sneak in 1 at some point), but I don't want to unbalance the game. I also don't want to take a different character through, because of the boon.
There's no judge listed for it on Warhorn, so I don't know who's running or who to ask. But the question would be, for whoever the GM is, would you mind a Level 4 Sorcerer joining all the 1s and 2s on QfP 3? Looks like mostly 2s, so I might push the average over 2.

Dain was originally slated, and he still may be running it, but I am the back-up GM for him, so I'll answer.
You sure can play a level 4 with a bunch of 1s and 2s. The mix will determine if you play down or up. So welcome to QfP, part 3!

Great! Thanks. I've dropped out of Mists and signed up for QfP 3 then. (I'm really not running from your games, Luth. Honest)
Now, watch me get killed in the morning session and make the whole thing moot.

Not Legal sorry. Needs to be something in a Paizo published book... If you need help there will be lots of GMs on hand to help you out tomorrow.

Dain is in for tomorrow. Sewer Dragons is a viable scenario for those who may need a game. Are you in, Aravandor?
Bailey, if by exotic PCs you mean exotic races, then the answer is no. Unless you get a special boon to make an exotic race (like an aasimar or a tengu), you must pick from the normal races for a Pathfinder Society character.
That being said, having a spare character on hand is a damned fine idea. Especially if you're gaming around Luthril. That dude is NE!
See y'all tomorrow.

sewer dragons @1230pm ... just sayin' ... ;)

So, I rolled my sleeves up, walked right up to my wife and said "Here's how it's gonna be." And she got that "If you say what I think you're about to say then you'll be sleeping on the couch until you start drawing social security" look with the arched eyebrow. I then manfully plead for my freedom this Saturday. I must have rolled a 20 on the diplomacy check because my motion was granted. Sometimes a man just has to lay down the law.
I've already run the shades of ice and quest for perfection story arcs as well as bloodcove part 1 (but I'm up for part 2 when it occurs), I'd like to run Sewer Dragons with Bekra (lvl 6) if possible. If not, I can use a level 1 character. I'm also down for among the dead with a lvl6 for session 2.

Hey, bribe the ladies with chocolate and cute things. ^o^ Works on me; then again so does playing the games. ^__^
Question, what happens if Bloodcove Disguise doesn't have a GM? Or is warhorn not telling the truth? Then again I guess we could always slide over to Ghenett if needed. ^_^
(Seems like its either going to be a lot of walk-ins or a slow weekend.)

I won't actually hit lvl 4 until after the 12:30 game. I'm signed up for Shades of Ice 1 in that slot, since I've done part 2 of that one, and I'm trying to bring some order to the chaos that is my chronicle sheets. Otherwise Sewer Dragons looks interesting.

![]() |

Unfortunately no. The most one can earn as far as chronicle sheets for a scenario goes is 1 as a player and 1 as a GM (for a total of 2 chronicle sheets per scenario, both of which have to be assigned to different characters). The limit is 1 as a player not 1 per character unfortunately.
Additionally, the chronicle sheet one gets as a GM does not impart any boons. You get the prestige, the gold and the access to the items, but no t the boons. This is why you must play the QfPIII scenario in order to gain that special critter.
The only exceptions to the 1 as a player/1 as a GM rule are as follow:
Tier 1-2 modules - this would include Crypt of the Everflame
Tier 1 scenarios - I believe this is currently limited to the Intro scenarios only.

Apparently, the Additional Resources list was updated recently, and armored kilts are no longer legal. I doubt it would have changed much in the game last night, but now I'll be forever worried about getting punched in the junk by goblin monks. I thought one of the reasons we game is for an escape from concerns like that? Ah well.

For PFS, if a character dies, does the scenarios that one completed become available for credit for other characters that person plays?
If my cleric were to die, who has quest for perfection part 3 credit, would another character of mine be able to play that scenario for credit?
Now if you were to die really early in the game different story.

So here's a rules question. I'm looking at Reach Spell from the APG.
Your spells go farther than normal.
Benefit: You can alter a spell with a range of touch, close, or medium to increase its range to a higher range category, using the following order: touch, close, medium, and long. A reach spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level for each increase in range category. For example, a spell with a range of touch increased to long range uses up a spell slot three levels higher. Spells modified by this feat that require melee touch attacks instead require ranged touch attacks.
Spells that do not have a range of touch, close, or medium do not benefit from this feat.
My reading of the feat is that if I take it for my cleric, I can memorize (in a 2nd level spell slot) Cure Light Wounds, Magic Weapon, or any other 1st level spell with a range of "Touch", then cast it from a distance of up to 25 feet + 5 feet per 2 full caster levels.
Question is: if my cleric casts a spell modified by this feat on an ally, does it require a ranged touch attack?
What the question seems to hinge on is whether using a touch spell on an ally normally requires a melee touch attack. If it does, then Reach Spell turns it into a ranged touch attack. If it doesn't, then a Reach Spell on an ally shouldn't require an attack roll either.

Hmmm, I wonder if I could remind a GM of a cleric death early in QFP part 3 so that my chronicle sheet could reflect that.....
:)

A save and an attack are essentially the same thing, just reversing the static and dynamic components. Defense is active in the case of saves, but passive in the case of attacks. A character has the option to concede their defense. While someone generally wouldn't resist a cure wounds spell and would try to resist inflict wounds, and a vampire will generally choose to do the opposite, there's nothing stopping either from allowing or trying to resist either. Unless someone wants to consider you a threat, they can drop their AC-based guard in that way too. If the assumption were that people default to keeping their guard up for an allies' spells, the same would be true of the allies' physical threat potential. The 'friend' behind you would inadvertently grant a flanking bonus to the enemy in front of you.

Promoting evil here, and from experience, I'd take him up on the offer if you're confused. ^_^
Most the wiser players in the society are really helpful and nice, its very fun to brainstorm with any of them. If nothing else it helps you think of ideas. ^o^
I owe my love of the Cavalier class to Luthril!
(Though my character concept for society play will be a bit more character driven in this case, and very strange I fear.)
