This may be of limited appeal, but sometimes I wish there was a way to roll 4d6-drop-the-lowest or 2d20-take-the-highest.
I understand that would be pretty far down the implementation list, though...

I could see a use for it, esp. for targets of witch hexes (use lowest d20 roll). :-)
For syntax, you could use something like [+|-][h|l][n]...
+h3 would mean keep the highest 3 rolls
+l1 would mean keep the lowest single roll
-h1 would mean drop the highest roll
-l2 would mean drop the lowest two rolls
