My wife really wants to subscribe to a magazine, any magazine really (I haven't the slightest clue why). We're both gamers and nerds, and so she asked me:
Are there any Pathfinder Magazines out there we could get? Any REAL ones?
I've seen Kobold quarterly, but my wife doesn't want to get that because half the magazine is 4ed, and you have to pay for shipping. I think that's actually what bugs her, is paying for the shipping.
So, are there any OTHER pathfinder magazines out there? Or any that cover all PnP rpg styles, instead of just two? Or nerd/gamer culture? And all without paying shipping? (It really bugs her!) She really wants a magazine subscription.

There is the Bi-annual Wayfinder by Paizo Fans United and the monthly (?) Pathways Magazine by Rite Publishing, both of which are free if you do the pdf download. I think Rite charges for their print edition.
Plus there isn't so much 4E content in Kobold Quarterly that isn't fairly easily translated. Some articles are not, of course, but that would be true of any magazine.

Kobold Quarterly is pretty much THE top magazine around and it had plenty of Pathfinder in it - more than enough to justify the cost.
As for shipping ... well you have to pay for shipping with most things (other than places like Amazon, but that's an entirely different thing) so that seems like kind of a non issue.
If I were looking for the best magazine with lots of great Pathfinder material, I wouldn't even hesitate - Kobold Quarterly is the one to go with!

Oh, I love those! I have them on my Kindle. Thing is, my wife wants a magazine subscription. Not electronic materials. But those are good E-mags! I'm glad I'm not the only one who reads them.
@Marc Radle: Magazines are great because you don't have to pay for shipping. That's the key difference here. I never payed for shipping when I got Dragon. At least...I don't recall paying for shipping. It's been awhile now, hasn't it? Anyways, that was why I had been on the fence about subscribing to the APs; even with the discount, the price of shipping made it more likely that I'd just buy them at the same price at my Local Gaming Store, or get it even cheaper at Amazon. However, what with PDFs and the new interactive map PDFs to sweeten the deal, I thought: Why not?
Actually, I wish I could still use that 50% subscription coupon for Kobold offered by Pen & Paper, because I might have been able to convince her at that price!

Well, since it's come up, I might as well explain it. You always pay for shipping with magazines, but usually it's just rolled into the cost (that's the way we did it when I worked at Dragon).
Why do we do it differently at Kobold Quarterly? Because the store is set up to allow subscriptions to Mexico/Canada (where the shipping is more) and subscriptions to the rest of the world (where the shipping is a LOT more, about $40 in shipping costs per subscription).
So.... I guess if it bugs her, it bugs her, and you could just as easily get KQ at the FLGS rather than subscribe. Avoid shipping, support the local shop, all good.
Oh, and there's another official sneak preview from Paizo coming in the Fall issue (written by James Jacobs!).

Is KQ available to FLGS and comics shops via Diamond?
And is there a minimum order? There is a proper gaming shop (Travelling Man, Leeds, UK) I trust to stock the latest gaming stuff, but my schedule prevents me making regular visits.
I've also known a few nearer comic shops over the years, who umm and aah over ordering gaming supplies, for some reason. You'd think I was asking them to cut off a nut, rather than invest in a guaranteed sale.
I'd like to be able to cut down any objections, if possible.

I'm a little late to this party but I wholeheartedly agree that KQ is the Pathfinder gaming magazine of choice.
Agreed, I purchased the last three issues of KQ based solely on how much positive chatter people on the messageboards were giving and I have to say that I have not been disappointe and will probably continue to order the magazine from here on out. There is some 4e stuff (which I don't really read), but the Pathfinder-related articles and adventures are top-notch and reading about the Midgard campaign setting is giving me ideas for my own universe. It's truly a phenomenal magazine.

What Owen said KQ for the win.

P.S.
Thanks for all the nice words folks have said about Pathways, issue #8 will be out today.

KQ is VERY worth the money and the shipping. I don't play 4e, but I've been able to incorporate ideas from those articles just the same, so don't let that be a turnoff.
