Just thought id pass along my website for helping out Dm's - it has a library of pre-made random generators and tools so you can make your own. The site is www.dxContent.com

Here is a list of generators to date (some are game specific and some are not)

- Dice Bag v1.2 - Simple clickable dice rolling.

- (POPULAR) City Block Generator v1.0 - Generates detailed fantasy city blocks and rural roads one street at a tiem. Includes various street types including circular and city squares. If you have a map this tool is great for fleshing it out. If you don't have a map this will tell you what needs to go on it. This generator will help you flesh out large cities and outlying suburbs.

- Old English City Name Generator - Creates authentic english sounding town names.

- Plot / encounter ideas - Generates plot and encounter ideas by giving the bad guys motivations and noting important features nearby. Most results have individual regenerate links so you can tweak results.

- Quick NPC v1.2 - Provides visual cues of the NPC's traits so as a GM you can quickly grasp how to role-play an on the spot NPC.

- Dwarf Names v1.0 - dwarven name generator.

- High Elf Names v1.0 - Generates high-elf sounding names complete with family house

- Wood Elf Names v1.0 - Earthy/tribal type names suitable for wood elves.

Generators compatible with Pathfinder:
(POPULAR) Intelligent Magic Item Add-on v1.1 - Creates an add-on package that can be added to any permanent magic item. Complete with stats, ego score, senses, powers, dedicated powers, cost, languages, etc.

- PF Starting Ability Scores (Best of 4d6) - Choose a race and class and the generator will generate starting ability scores using best of 4d6 dice results. Racial bonus are automatically applied as well as intelligent assignment of floating attibute bonuses (like the human or half orc).

- Random Magic Potions v1.2 - This will generate a magic potion from the Pathfinder core rule books.

- (POPULAR) Random Magic Weapon v1 - This will generate a magic item from the Pathfinder core rule books.

Yes I have. Great sight, but dxContent.com offer something differen than SSt - free, on-line custom generator creation tools, and the ability to embeed generators into your own website. I invite you to check it out.

I recently added the Pathfinder random scroll generator to the dxContent library (see pathfinder section)

FEATURES:
- select minor, medium or major item
- The spell names are link to d20pfsrd.com
- spell cost listed (total scroll cost listed if it's a multi-spell scroll)
- spell level, and caster level (likely minimum but randomly increased)
- material components with a cost are included in the value calculations
- notes that affect the cost are also included
- Includes all core Pathfinder spells (expansions to follow), for wiz/sor, cleric, druid, bard, ranger, and paladin.

Some very cool stuff here, thanks for sharing it.

After messing around with the random weapon generator, it looks to have some errors. First off, it's not including the base cost of the weapon + masterwork in its value calculation. Secondly, it seems that additional properties for weapons are not correctly being calculated - properties that have a +1 to value are adding 2,000 gold, rather than increasing the total bonus of the weapon. For instance, I just generated a medium value weapon:

--Medium Magic Ranged weapon--
+2 Bola (Seeking, Frost)
12,000gp value
A rune provides a clue to the weapon's function

That's a total of a +4 bonus, so the price should be 32,305 (32,000 for +4, 300 for masterwork, 5 for bola).

Also, it generated an Adamantine Longbow at one point.

Lastly, "A rune provides a clue to the weapon's function" is a pretty silly thing to have added to a +3 Club. Is the rune a picture of somebody smashing another person's head in?

Thanks for checking it out. I'll take a look at the items you pointed out.

As far as silly runes go, PF rules list a percentage chance that weapons will have some kind of indicator as to the magical properties of the wepon. So your bola exampl's rune indicates its seeking and frost powers not its bola-ness.

Just want to let anyone following this thread know that I've made a number of corrections to the random magic weapon generator on dxContent.com.

Thanks to Alientude's observations, I was able to find and fix a number of issues.

Noted Fixes
- price calculations - masterwork & base cost included and additional weapon property calcs fixed.
- The abilites that can get assigned to ranged items now have more intelligence behind them so that Distance, Returning, Seeking and Brilliant Energy shouldn't get applied to the wrong types of weapons.
- If the Bane ability appears it now generates a designated foe.

Other comments
-"Admantine bows" and similar will still generate - that will come in a later fix.
