I'm enjoying how the APs have connections between them. Shalelu for instance and the Vancaskerkin clan. I also noted that some of the treasure in Rise of the Runelords foreshadows some of the locations, events, and villains in Kingmaker. Any one seen any that I've missed? Extra points for anyone who can connect any of the APs connect to Kevin Bacon?

Whoa, really?

I know that the Undiomede family's prodigal son from Carrion Crown #4 is also in Council of Thieves #5, dead, in a walled off room. He's, uh, not been too lucky.

I can't think of anything from Runelords that foreshadows Kingmaker; Ameiko foreshadows Jade Regent, and Eando Kline's story and Vorel's Phage obliquely foreshadows Blood Veil in Curse of the Crimson Throne, but I don't see any Kingmaker references.

Vorel's phage getting transmitted to the people who unleash it in COtCT is part of a particular ghoulish NPCs backstory just prior to his meeting the characters, which I thought was a particularly nice touch. I can't recall any kingmaker tie-ins though, and since we are playing these back to back, I would have thought to get any right away. I really, really, really wish I had the writeup of Hollow Mountain when I was running RotRL though, OMG what a side trek. In fact, I would probably have cut out the entirety of AP5 and just sent them there instead.

As far as Kevin Bacon goes:

1-RotRL has a phage that connects to,
2-CotCT, which has a dungeon in Ustalav(Scarwall),
3-Ustalav has an NPC in the Rival Guide(Adgrif Yoderbie) who is the Invisible Man
4-Kevin Bacon played an invisible man in Hollow Man.

Okay its not amazing, but I got there. It is even faster from Kingmaker since Dovan of Nisroch is from Ustalav direct.

Dark Archive

The most recent interview with Greg Vaughan on The Chronicles podcast, mentioned that there is now a collection of people and places that are meant to be explicitly dropped into the various APs to create those kind of ties to all the other content.

I think that's pretty cool.

Mad props to Redcelt32.

In the Skinsaw Murders, the treasure in Ironbriar’s office includes a painting of 'a city carved from a vast frozen waterfall with towering ice cathedrals and domes' and a book called the Sypents Tane: Fairy Tales of the Eldest. It says that the book describes several of the Tane, including the Jabberwock, the Thrasfyr, and the Sard.
