Isn't there something about 420? I can't remember. Hmm.....

So, because I was bored at work and had my laptop handy, I wrote a quick Visual Basic program to count from 1 to 1,000,000 and display the numbers in a box. I then copy/pasted the results into OpenOffice. The result (using the Arial typeface and 6pt size) is a 13.2MB word file 441 pages long. Thats a lot of numbers.
Oh yeah, 425.
that's f%~$ing cheating.
426.
Why? I'm not posting it on here. I was bored and wondered: A) If I remembered enough progamming to write it, and B) how long it would be.

Inspired by gran's example, I used the 'extend series' feature in Excel to enter the numbers 1-100 into a line, and then extended it down 100000 lines. It took about three minutes. The spreadsheet is 41.1 MB.
Kinda shows the magnitude of the challenge here, doesn't it?

In 10 days, we have only got to here.
435/10 is 43.5 counts/day.
At this rate it will take us 1,000,000/43.5 = 22,988 days.
That is ~ 63 years.

If you would let us do more than one number per post, it would go faster. And no, I do not mean cheating like gran and TOG did.
