Greetings Logarth,

I am interested in this game. I think I'd like to play either and Oracle of Life or a Battle Oracle/Barbarian/Rage Prophet.

Let me know which you'd be more interested in and I can I have a stat block ready for you tonight.

Cheers,

DSP

What level of optimization should we be looking at here? Just regular stuffz?

And I was wondering if this race could be used, 3rd party: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/3rd-party-races/alluria-publishing/oakling

Compelling reason is that unlike your standard eco-terrorist/hippy, this is a tree that is protecting humans. :P

And what about all the people that went through the effort to make character submissions when you posted this recruitment thread under the name Erefine, and then didn't bother to respond?

I appoligize about that, I was still waiting on the books, and then I got laid off...so I will still look at those characters as well as these here. I just thought if I posted on the other thread nobody would check it since it has been a while.

Hi, I'd like to submit a Dwarven Magus, from Ultimate Magic as a character for your campaign. I've got a basic character background here, and if you like the concept will roll up a sheet.

Name: Dolgen Dulforge
Age: 53
Class: Magus
Dolgen is descended from a proud clan of Smiths, each generation of Dulforges striving to best their previous generations accomplishments. However, their biggest claim to fame was the art of construct building, the clans secrets closely guarded.
Dolgan was raised in the family traditions, with a strong sense of Clan loyalty instilled into him, but as the years came and went something stirred within him, the warhammers he forged gave him as great a pleasure to wield as to craft, but he felt there was more. One day he came across an old tome, and the writings inscribed in it awoke something, he felt a power grow, and he cast his first spell.
He wanted to learn more, but his Clan was unable to aid him, they knew nothing of the workings of magic, and so they sent him out into the world with their blessing, to learn what he could...

Liberty's Edge

Hi there. Myself and a friend are looking into a campaign and hope you can be of help. Both of us wish to be spell casters. He an undead bloodline sorcerer and I an Air specialist wizard, (cryptologists our trade)! He is interested in learning about himself as a character, and I am an enthused young wizard, Atlas Aquanis, practicing the art of magic and being a cryptologist, would love to solve his mystery, and many other world wonders. If two spellcasters won't be much of a problem we'd love to play. This would be his first time playing and one of my first online. My other one I am Roland Morgan a
Gunslinger, treasure hunter, and sailor of the Esperim seas. Will start up some sheets if we are worthy.
Thank you
Cody

After reading them over any race from http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ can be used
Also I think that perhaps if someone wanted to approach me about a centaur (we could work together to create one) they would work well in this campaign.

I would be interested in playing a centaur ranger.

(I've always wanted to but never had an opportunity)

Please advise what you'd like most and I'll get to work on it.

very interested, got a couple of concepts in mind, including Halfling Rogue, Elf Druid or Ranger, or maybe a Barbarian. But if there's other characters from a prior attempt at recruitment, I don't wanna take anybody's spots.

Actually sorry, I have to withdraw.

I'll just re-apply here with my Dwarven Gunslinger again.

From original thread:

Dorana Maerg wrote:
Applying with a whiskey-chugging, cigar-smoking, bounty-hunting, butt-pinching, trend-setting, fashionista-diva, female dwarven gunslinger originally from Alkenstar but vacationing in Rostland for the moment.

How about, Sir Adaver Beestinger, the rather plump halfling cavalier of the sword. Seeking honor, glory, and righteous battle in the name of his god and his companions. Armed and armored as a night, except for his large and very green hat.

Was thinking wolf mount, shield and lance when mounted, spear and shield when on foot.

Tossing in my hat for a Paladin. I'm thinking Human or Dwarf. I'll make up both sheets and see which has a better feel.

To put everyone's mind at ease about the likelyhood of DM fall out,I am playing in another of Eferine's games and he is a frequent poster. I have never been left out in the cold by him and am more than willing to try for a spot in this AP. Just FYI.

EDIT: Never been left out in the cold, lol. Almost made that sound bad.;)

I appreciate that Bilbo! I am glad you enjoy my style of DMing that you would want to be in another of my campaigns.

I have always wanted to play or have someone play a centaur ranger in a campaign so I love that idea!

How do you want to deal with the centaur? He starts with 4HD. I think that's much too powerful.

Maybe treat him as a human but the human bonus feat must be one of: Fey Foundling, Mounted Combat, Run, or Ride-by-Attack.

Here is my submission. He's built on 20 piont buy, so I'll have to tweak a bit.

Basically, and a master of the Elven Curve Blade. (Still deciding between Weapon Master and 2-hand Fighter variants).

And I appreciate the apology regarding the other thread a few weeks ago. (Yes, I submitted there). :-)

Hello, showing an oar to let the DM know I read their post and am replying. (It's the creator of 'Grey'. (^_^) )

1) Currently, I do shift work on the other side of the planet from most posters on these forums.

2) Said shift work means I will not be able to have anything posted for possibly even another week.

3) I'm already in a descent amount of games, including two other Kingmakers, so me being in/joining this game is not a priority over others who may not be so fortunate in seeking a game.

4) I have no idea as to what race or class to play, but since I am showing interest I am indeed wracking my brains as for what to do.play. :)

5) Having read your allowed races, I am thinking of 'recreating' the Xane character that I have in another game.

link to character page, Xane.

Let me know what you think. *Bows*

Much cheers to every one who does make it in to play. So far the Dm and other players have/are being a blast. =)

I present Amun for review. A solemn, quiet and hard hitting follower of Irori. I need to update his background and scores, but let me know if you're interested in bringing an unlikable monk along for the ride.

Logarth:

I spoilered this because I am not trying to admonish you or create an opening for others to start a flame war.

Sorry to hear about your lay off. I have been there and it's never fun. Kudos to you to taking on the challenge of running a game in spite of this setback.

As another player who posted to your original recruitment thread, I was also surprised to see you create another recruitment thread for the same game. I can only speak for myself, but I would have appreciated even a simple post saying that you had moved your recruitment to this thread. I feel certain the original applicants would like to hear from you and would completely understand your circumstances.

I would still like to be considered for your campaign. Character is Leithbridge Gravenhurst, Aldori Swordlord (Fighter variant, Inner Sea Primer pg. 27). You can find me on your original thread as the first applicant. Let me know and I can repost here if you prefer.

Like I mentioned above I am sorry and have since per your suggestion posted something on the other thread mentioning that I have moved it over here.

This is flamethrower49 reapplying as William Flynn. You will find a background and appropriate stats under this alias. (Revisions can be made as needed - as is he has one too many traits for your game.) William Flynn is a bastard of house Surtova, and he will serve as an excellent face character. His emphasis is on skills. He can assist in combat with his skill in archery. Though he starts as a Ranger, this is merely a springboard for later adventuring possibilities.

I am very excited to play in a Kingmaker game - it really fires my imagination. You can look at my alias Karek Kogan for an small sample of some roleplaying on here. I think William will be a fun addition to any team. He has a mischievous streak a mile wide, but he is willing to give people a chance.

I hope you will consider me for a spot in your game. I am sorry to hear about your lay off.

Liberty's Edge

Hello Logarth, sorry to hear about your troubles. I posted this character in the original thread but I would still like to be considered for your Kingmaker game. I'll repost my character here. I have revised my progression idea a little for the character. While I still intent to use Eldritch Heritage feats, I am considering a focus on the Arcane bloodline.

Katya:
Background: A woman of sharp intellect and driving passion. Heavily influenced by the death of her parents during an Inquisitor raid on her home town to remove a cult dedicated to the destructive side of the god Nethys, she was orphaned and taken to a wizards college at a very young age after an occult symbol of Nethys was found scarred into her back, she has been heavily influenced by the loss of her noble status and feels slighted by fate at times. She believes she is entitled to more than what she has been given and that can make her seem abrasive. However, like most wizards, her pursuit of knowledge will generally come before most other concerns though her emotions can flip back and forth between hatred towards a world that she feels has wronged her and a curiosity to understand more of it.

Personality: Being from a noble family without any claim to her blood right and raised among wizards and nobles children, she is sensitive about certain subjects of her life. She attempts to exude an aura of nobility that sits awkwardly on her shoulders. In the pursuit of knowledge she is singularly focused and will lose herself in her studies if allowed to.

Appearance: A green eyed, red haired woman with tanned skin, a strong hint of strange blood runs in her veins as her eyes are slanted upwards and the pupils are almost translucent, showing a swirl of strange energy behind them. She wears scholarly robes of soft silk with embroidered images down the right side and skirt. A red sash wraps around her waist and holds under the folded cloth her myriad pouches. Her pack bulges with the amount of things kept inside of it and she always smells faintly of jasmine and sulfur.

Kingmaker: Learning of the chance to study the mysteries of the Stolen Lands is too good an opportunity for Katya to miss out on so she has decided to sign up with the expeditions being sent south. Also, in the back of her mind she has begun to formulate possible plans to regain the good graces of the nobility in this venture, and perhaps convince King Noleski Surtova to give her back her title.

I'm definitely still interested, though Zeljka got picked up for that huge sprawling mercenary PBP recently, so she's not within the valid criteria for this one anymore. I'll cook something up to apply with though!

I'm still interested as well.

Concept remains the same, some of the details will have to change. If nothing else you made it a 25 pt buy.

Greetings Logarth and all.

I have been wanting to play to play this adventure for quite some time, so here's hoping the dice roll true.

-

Name: Carmichael Korvus Silkenlock
Race: Human
Class: (Charisma Based) Sorcerer - or Bard / Lion Blade

Concept: Given that this adventure is about running a kingdom, I want to play a person who is both tactful, diplomatic while remaining passionate and interesting. He would be someone who has any number of solutions to situations and is useful and fun both in RP and fiery combat.

Background: Born the rebellious son of an Oaksteward, this Sevenarches man left his family rubbing blood and green off their thumbs for the wider promise of the entire River Kingdoms. He sought both trouble and adventure, aligning himself with the very elves that sought to sweep through the rigid settlement and reclaim their heritage. Finding love and friendship amongst the elves, it is here young master Korvus spends his magic filled nights and days till fate would intervene.

Introducing Chiron the Starwatcher, Centaur Ranger.

For Logarth:

Let me know if I should change anything. And by all means, tweak or change my backstory in a way that you can use it in the game. I just love it when the GM can use a character's backstory. The game feels so much more real, you know?

How does a Human Druid by the name of Antalen "Country Boy" Brodenka? A humble young man from a medium-but-still-small town in Rostland, Antalen grew up surrounded by nature's bounty, and he not only appreciated, he loved it. Gifted with a sound mind and healthy body, all he knows of nature he learned on his own through a multitude of days playing in the forests and plains surrounding his hometown.

He could have taken up a trade and been mostly happy, but still the wilds called to him day after day. Apprenticed first to a local hunter, then a trapper, a woodcutter, and finally an herbalist, Antalen afterwards decided to strike out on his own, and returned a year later not only possessing authentic druidic magics, but knowledge of the "nature-men's" secret signs and language, and an eerily intelligent beastie at his side.

While it took his people a while to get used to his new state, they adapted, and Antalen was soon installed as a sort of local medicine man, using his knowledge of the natural world to develop remedies and preventatives for the townsfolk, reading the weather, and dealing with the odd nature spirit or two that drifted into the area by the by. This was all well and good, but Antalen craved the excitement he'd found on his yearlong sojourn into the wilds.

Soon enough, he found it. The call came to reclaim the Stolen Lands. Young and still full of patriotic fire despite the call for Druids to remain aloof, the country boy from Rostland answered the call, ready to forge forward into a new world that he could help shape on his own.

Alright submissions are looking good. I will leave it open until midnight tomorrow.

Yes, yes, join us and live forever!! hahahahahaha

Logarth, I'm gonna pull my app, you seem to have plenty of peoples tryin to vie for a spot and I don't wanna take a spot from those who applied to your last attempt at this AP.

I made a few changes to my character. Specifically, I discovered the Trapper ranger archetype, and now have access to Disable Device and Trapfinding, thus allowing me to better cover the role of the skill character. I also worked with my backstory to help cover some of the disparate character elements. William should stand as is now, though I may want to make some minor changes to fit better within the party if chosen.

I can't believe how excited I am for the chance to play in this game. Good luck to everybody!

Here's Antalen, not completely finished up but close enough for now. A plain old bog standard Druid, no special archetypes, probably with a bog-standard wolf for a companion, though I've considered the Menhir Savant archetype and the Mooncaller.

I just found this thread. I am Heshlem in the other thread. I will look over what everyone else is making and try to submit an idea within an hour or so. It will be basic just to hold a spot. I will flesh it out tomorrow most likely.

edit: After considering a goblin and an orc which I realized were mostly for mechanical reasons I think I will go with a hobgoblin(always wanted to play on). I will most likely go with the rogue or ranger class.

edit2:Is this taking place in Golarion or an unspecified campaign world? My Golarion-fu is made of weak sauce so I might need to do some reading in order to come up with a good idea as to why my hobgoblin may have enough of a reputation to not be killed on sight, or at least allowed into the party reasonably.

If you are going the skill route with your ranger then I will go for more of a combat focused ranger so we are not stepping on each others toes.

background story:

Thyum Kren a young hobgoblin was sent out with a hunting party to secure food for his clan. The leader of the hunt, a young but talented hobgoblin, Mickal, saw what was a trade caravan. Strangely enough it had no guards. He quickly formulated a plan and gave the other hobgoblins a code word which he would use if they were to try to take the 3 wagons. He slipped off into the shadows and upon getting closer he noticed the wagons were not in the best of shape. He came to the conclusion that they must have been attack earlier and barely escaped while the guards must have been killed and/or left behind, which was true. What he did not know was that word had gotten back to the nearest fort to send soldiers to secure the cargo, and they were fast approaching the wagons. He called for the attack, and just when it got to the point where the hobgoblins were about to force a surrender the calvary showed up. Mickal was too eager to prove himself to consider retreat so he engaged the soldiers. Eventually he realized he was not going to win this fight, and it may be too late to run away. A human soldier had snuck around behind Mickal, and Thyum was the only archer with a clear shot. As he let the arrow fly a gust of wind took the arrow off its intended path, and it went into the side of Mickal's head, landing a mortal blow. The other's tried to run away, but Thyum was dressed a lot differently than the others, not by design. In Thyum's tribe the color and design of the uniform determined your rank within the clan. Due to the fact that his clan was very small not too many people knew much about them so he was able to claim that he was from a different clan. When asked why he was out alone he admitted it was foolish to be out there alone, but he wanted revenge for a prior attack, and he even led the human soldiers to recently dug graves, to prove his point. The leading commander, who was also a noble asked if he could do anything for him. Thyum said his tribe was now dead, but asked for food so he could survive until he found something. The commander was a strong believer that peace was possible with orcs, goblins, and other such races so he wanted Thyum to come back to town. He promised to protect him if he would help him convince others to try harder to make peace with the "monstrous races". Thyum was not really up for the idea of visiting a human city, but he could not find a good reason to decline since the man had offered free food and his clan was "dead".
Thyum became accustomed to the ease of city life, so much that he started to no longer look forward to the day he would sneak away. When he did have the chance to sneak away he would find reasons as to why he should not leave. Days turned into weeks, which turned into months, and then years. When he turned 17 he decided to enter Grosworth Military Academy*. He did well, but he was never truly accepted and only his adopted family name kept him from being treated a lot worse than he was. After his training was complete it he was never assigned to a unit due to a "paperwork error". He was told he was free to go and that he should look upon his good fortune as a blessing. He was also told that the paperwork would take a long time to fix, and that it was not worth looking into. He was saddened by how he was treated, and he mostly spent the next year hunting in the forest that was nearby.
One day he returns home to find that a group of adventures are being sent to look into problems with the Stolen Lands. The assignment is a volunteer assignment. It seemed that not many people wanted any part of it, but he jumped at it since he could now prove his worth. He was approved to go, not because anyone believed in him, but only because it was figured the Stolen Lands were to dangerous to be settled, and that was a convenient way to get rid of him.

*Does not really exist in Golarion. I made it up.

The name is a work in progress and it may change.

Yes, thank you for that. William is certainly not a conventional Ranger character, as he's not a primary combatant. He is meant to be quite useful at everything outside of combat. I expect he will be able to pull his weight in a fight, especially when it comes to his favored enemy (human at present, but it's flexible). His favored class is actually Bard, so between his two classes he'll have everything as a class skill except for Fly.

He's certainly much more of a political character than I usually play, but with the setting I'm eager to give it a try.

If it's not too late, I would like to toss my hat in.

For your consideration, Naen Tesrec is a cleric of Milani.

Background:

For centuries, Naen Tesrec's lineage was dedicated to the worship of Aroden; every generation, the majority of the Tesrecs would join the priesthood. Based in Galt, the Tesrec family held nearly as deep a devotion to Cheliax, the empire they believed would one day rule all of Avistan with nobility and wisdom.

Aroden's death shattered the family. Unable to deal with the loss, many of the Tesrecs took their own lives. Others simply went mad. A valiant few weathered the confusion and anguish, and desperately searching for guidance, they came to better know the saint Milani. They prayed to her, hoping she could bolster the staggering empire.

But it seemed that she could not. The House of Thrune rose to power in Cheliax, and with its ascension, any loyalty the few remaining Tesrecs had to the distant nation crumbled. The flames of revolution grew in Galt, and the Tesrec family was right in step with the teachings of the revolutionary, Hosetter.

Alese Tesrec was a young girl when the revolution started, and from the age of twelve, she fought alongside her father and brothers as they spilled the blood of Galtan aristocrats and those that would shelter them. As the years passed, more died, and it wasn't just the nobles. Alese, now the senior member of the Tesrec family following the execution of the last of her brothers, called out to Milani for peace. The Everbloom answered her, and urged her to flee her blood-soaked homeland.

In the year 4690, in the town of Liberthane, Alese Tesrec gave birth to a daughter, Naen. Who the father was, none knew. Those that have known them speak only of the mother and the child. Alese, weary of her costly but futile years of struggle in Galt, finally gave way to sickness five winters past. She never saw her daughter come of age.

Naen is a beautiful young woman who has lived a life of relative peace. Though in her younger years she chafed against her mother's insistence that Galt was beyond Milani's help, Naen now understands that she was only following the will of the goddess. Alese's death took a great toll on her daughter, but Naen understands that she is the last Tesrec, and she will honor her mother and her ancestors by carrying on in devotion to the Everbloom.

There's little left for Naen in Liberthane. It's time for her to set out and find where Milani would lead her.

I'm looking at playing a pretty standard support cleric, likely with the Liberation and Protection domains. Milani is a Golarion deity (one of Aroden's inheritors, like Iomedae but not as widely worshipped) of devotion, hope and uprisings. She is detailed on 229-230 of the Inner Sea World Guide.

I hope Naen Tesrec can find a place in your game. Thanks!

Here is Naen Tesrec so far.

If I might make a small amendment to my character background, Naen was born and raised in Brunderton (a town in Rostland) rather than Liberthane. I originally liked Liberthane because of the connection to Galt, but Brunderton makes more sense for the campaign and would also have been a safer place of refuge for Naen's mother years ago.

I'll offer up Valerya, half-elven tinkerer and gunslinger looking to kick some bandit ass (in the future, she would probably be an interesting voice on a kingdom council, offering up creative suggestions and helping maintain border security). IF she actually ended up as a queen (although unlikely) she would advocate a progressive and expansive kingdom, built upon hard work and inventiveness.

Appearance:

A slender young woman with a defiant posture wearing a leather overcoat and travel boots. She sports slightly pointed ears beneath a soot-stained red hair and travelling hat. Although she ostensibly carries a sword, she hides two small firearms in holsters in her back. She curiously analises people and places she encounters and seems distracted, but when her attention is needed she meets anyone's eyes with a steely resolve.

Background:

Grimor Lavand was an skilled gunsmith on the county of Alkenstar, but his talent was soon noticed and he became employed by a minor baron of that land, with the task to keep maintenance over his firearms. The baroness, though, had seen in the surly strong man other qualities. For all his troubles, he got to keep his head when the affair was discovered and hastily hidden again from view. In order to only be exiled instead of executed, he swore two oaths: Never to step on Alkenstar again, and never build a firearm, on pain of death.

The expert smith travelled the lands, selling his services and slowly learning other crafts. He was good with detail and small springs, and he took to building exceptional crossbows and bolts. He finally found steady employment on a rural town of southern Brevoy, selling the easily-handled crossbows to simple farmers that wanted to protect their lands. He married a varisian woman by the name of Valeria and lived a hardy but good life. Although he had sworn to never construct a firearm again, he had carried with him a couple of pistols dissassembled into its parts. He made notes about how to assemble it again but never managed to do it.

The smith's daughter was named Vanera, and on a trip to Restov at the age of 16, she was wooed by a travelling elf. One month later she had to marry in order to conceal her pregnancy. When the child was born, some folk whispered "changeling" because the girl had pointed ears and big eyes. Although there was a big ruckus, the couple remained married, altough the husband never brought himself to like the girl. She was named after her grandmother, Valerya.

Valerya was a curious child, kicking rocks just to see what's under and asking difficult questions. Some would point this as proof of hag blood, but her grandfather recognized the spark of curiosity. He gave the child the big box under the bed when she made 13 years. Showing a precise handiwork inherited from his unknown elven father, the child was able to repair and sell a couple crossbows. That earned her family quite a good fare and the encouragement from her mother. Using shaved wooden stocks and bits of iron, she was able to build a crossbow at the age of 14. On 15 she finally understood her grandfather's sketches enough to build a repeating crossbow that was bought by the local count. On 17 her family was murdered.

A couple months before, her grandfather went on a business trip to the border towns. During the travel he was attacked by brigands, and managed to kill several with his repeating crossbow before the rest fled. The bandits sought replacements and followed his trail, ending up on the family's farmhouse. The girl was in her father's workshop when they attacked. They set the house on fire and as the family ran out in panic, they peppered them with arrows. Grimor, suspecting as much, locked the girl on a small underground storage, and went out to meet his fate.

The only things left of the Lavand farmhouse were the girl and a few of her grandfather's belongings that were hidden in the underground storage.

"She summoned hellfire and burn them all!", they said. "The girl is mad, she has always been", they said. She ran from them, holding in her arms a big locked box. She had only two things in her mind: Never to be locked away helplessly like that again and revenge.

The box held some strange-minted platinum coins (mementos from Alkenstar), uncommon tools and some very unusual parts. Using the money to rent a stinking inn room in Restov, she proceeded to follow the sketches and assemble her grandfather's weapons, trying to understand how the black powder fit in the proccess. All the while she never stopped asking about bandits in the south, knowing that somewhere out there were the objectives of her revenge. A couple years later, a very different person was leaving the city of Restov. A woman of eighteen, wearing leather trenchcoats and wielding an exotic pair of guns, and she was on a hunt.

tl;dr version:

Her grandfather was an exiled gunsmith who worked building crossbows and other trinkets on southern farm village. His daughter had a fling with an elf and thus Valerya was born. She picked up her grandfather's tools and trade, until the day southern bandits murdered her family. She then assembles her grandfather's guns and goes out seeking revenge.

Personality:

Valerya is inquisitive and detail-oriented, searching for visible clues to the personality of people around her. She notices the worn soles of a traveler, the callused hands of a fighter or farm worker, the creases on the face of a worrysome priest. She's generally tactless, pointing out flaws in hopes of 'fixing' them. But she easily points out strong points and good ideas, and is easy to recognize aloud one person's strenghts.

Ok the submissions look great! I will review them all tonight and post my decision later tonight.

Ok the group will be as follows:
Bilbo Bang- Bang
Wraithstrike
Hamied
William Flynn
Chiron (perhaps a class change as there are multiple rangers, but I love the character so I had to take him)
Carmichael
Congrats to those who were chosen! I will post a link to the campaign later tonight! (I am very excited to run this!)

Alright here is thread for our campaign!
