Well worth a bump. I think it's a great flavour spell, especially for a wizard taking a research day.
I may tinker with the duration, perhaps 10 minutes per level, but take steps to ensure lack of abuse. For instance
- It banishes itself at the first sign of danger
- It can only use paper and ink provided (which means forgeries would still require a skill check for the preperation.)
- Replication errors. The Fidzit does after all get bored, especially without a bigger devil ready to whip it into line, so, the first copy for each summoning is perfect, the second contains minor errors, the third even worse. (which should prevent the "printing press" effect.)
Just some thoughts. A form of this might well be play tested in my game.
Also, any use of their detect good spell-like ability or requesting them to perform any other task than copying text require the caster to present properly filled request, in three copies and made with black and red ink, etc, etc. Nothing costly but infernally bureacratic quest for permit A38..

Cool concept (and no, it isn't too powerful). I agree with Ingenwulf, you should increase the duration. Drejk has made a very good point; the Fidzit should keep a ledger containing a copy of all the documentation it has done. Perhaps a copy resides in Erebus, within Mammon's treasury (as Hell's accountant and treasurer, it seems only natural).
Shouldn't the Fidzit possess the devil immunities and resistances, as well as the devil languages and telepathy? Or was that explained by, "least devils?"

It should be an Evil spell, since you are summoning a Devil.
Also, I'm not sure why you'd give it to an Antipaladin. Those guys have to be Chaotic Evil. Why give them a spell dedicated to law and Devils?

As this spell is based of the 0 level spell Amanuensis, he suggested limiting it a bit and making it a 0-level spell.

He thinks it's weak enough to apply as a cantrip. And loves the added flavor, as well as creating a Summon type spell as a cantrip. Preventing the Fidzit from any use beyond the spells intended purpose just makes the summons a fluff added taste to a 0-level spell.
Plus what magic student wouldn't want an easy way to transcribe those boring lectures, etc at Acadamae?

Because 0th level spells can be cast at will I think about changing duration to Permanent until dismissed with Fidzits refusing to work more than 1 hour a day regardless of number of times being summoned (the first action of every summoned Fidzit would be writing down time, plane, location and summoner identity and adding it to file accessible to all Fidzits). The daily time limit and replication errors could be avoided by paying a small sum of money (3 sp per 8 hours, as trained hireling) or performing minor sacrifice (as it is bureacratic devil-clerk I am thinking about something like thumb or index finger or both severed from a sentient humanoid).
Side quest: Party is send to hell and has to discover what massive copying was done for BBEG. Which requires them first to learn identity of Fidzits that did the copying, gain access to them and then convince or coerce into cooperation... And leave with information more or less unscathed.

*Special: Each soul is assigned a specific Fidzit from accounting. Each casting per day counts towards the total duration. i.e. at 6th level, a caster can summon a Fidzit for one use of 40 minutes, two uses of 20 minutes, etc. Uses must be in 5 minute increments. If the Fidzit is banished before 5 minutes, the entire five minute increment is wasted.
