Regarding my previous post, whilst you were taking so long thinking about it, I discovered an elixir distilled from clerics of Sarenrae which is good for both removing unfortunate stains AND for relieving my slight negative energy allergy.
I'm thinking of marketing it (discreetly) amongst dragons with a tagline of 'Sarendrops: The elixir which leaves you and your lair with a warm sunset afterglow'. I need more clerics and holy-warriors of Sarenrae however, as I've used up that last batch your church sent to try and retrieve the relic. Could you ask them to send some more please, otherwise I will eat it?
Yours,
Smagnavast the Black.
(Full name not worth bothering lesser beings with too little time to live with.)

Thank you for taking time out of your day to answer our questions Priestess of Sarenrae. You are an inspiration to all those around you.
As a fellow worshiper of the Dawnflower, I have oftentimes came across irredeemable evils that were beyond my companion and I’s abilities to deal with in the most satisfactory manner (by that I mean burn them to a crisp with the holy fire of Sarenrae). What is your approach to dealing with such evils that are too dangerous to at least deal with immediately?
What would you consider to be your proudest moment?
What is the greatest evil you have vanquished (or helped at any rate. I know I oftentimes spend much a battle just trying to keep my companions in one piece with my healing rather then directly fighting in the melee)?

Evil that cannot be defeated? Valeros often says "Live to fight another day." It is true. I add them to my list. I do not forget. And I at least try to hinder their evil schemes as much as I can. It is all Sarenrae asks for...to try.
Your last two questions are one in the same to me....Defeating Karzoug, and saving Varisia from a truly evil fate. And returning to Sandpoint to watch ordinary people go about their normal lives, never knowing how close they were to losing even that. Also, knowing that we four, as a team, worked together to overcome evil. Lifelong friends were gained.

Dear Kyra,
What are your views on the following religions (even though the dawnflower is the true way bless her holy light).
1) Shelyn
2) Cayden Cilean
3) ErastilThank you for your wisdom in advance.
1) The Eternal Rose is a strange way to me. I appreciate art, beauty, and love, really I do, but it always seems to me that the followers of Shelyn I've encountered are too focused on making everything beautiful and loved. It's distracting sometimes.
2) Valeros goes on and on about his Hero. I agree with the free-spirited nature, but it is a reckless approach to life. Any backtalk from Valeros about how his god is better than my goddess is quickly ended when I remind him which one heals him more regularly.
3) I admire Erastil's followers...focused on home and hearth, on family. I am not much of a country woman, but I certain enjoy the natural beauty of this world.

If you encountered the ghost of a small child, haunting a collection of wealthy merchants
You stumble across an underground fighting circuit, where slaves, alchemically altered (and maddened) animals and prisoners are forced to fight to the death for their continued survival, simply to serve as the tools of the betting of their masters, what would be your course of action? Would you attempt to directly destroy the circuit and kill/capture the ring-leaders, expose those supporting it to the most powerful legal authority and try to stop politics from saving the guilty or would you insert yourself into the circuit and attempt to lead a slave-revolt against the ring-leaders from the inside?
Have you ever encountered a 'monster' that has surprised you with an unusual outlook on life or friendly disposition?
I would also second Lord Fyre's question. I'd also go further and ask what is your personal take on the push to restart hostilities with the Taldan nation when Rovarug's minions are already well at work subverting the nomad tribes and thieves and assassins within your homeland. Is it possible that the Keleshite Clerics of Sarenrae are on the verge of aligning, accidentally or perhaps, and most sinisterly, on purpose with those that should be their most hated foes?

It is the trait I admire most in her. That is odd....you admire her for being ALIVE...yet when she tries to get you to live....you get upset. Maybe you should just let go just once...and let your hair down...and go out on the town with Merisiel.
I have always thought to truely understand somebody one must 'walk in their shoes' for a while...and with true understanding comes the insight to help you understand her even better. Which might allow you to help her more.

I’m curious about how it was determined that you showed promise to be a priestess of the Dawnflower, and also what your training was like. I was wondering how training and selection might be different from my own homeland.
So how seriously do you take Merisiel unceasing advances towards you? Given you are a regular companion of hers, I figure you would have a better idea if she is just joking with you, or is actually serious about her attempts to, ah-hem, make your relationship more friendly then it currently is.

Very well....I have an answer for you:
** spoiler omitted **
Hah! That tickled.
Actually I kept my posts exceptionally succint. I know what short attention (and life) spans you mortals tend to have, even without serving yourselves up as irresistible hors d'oeuvres.Seriously though, you lot pretend to be all honourable and fair and just and all that crap, and then engage in the most blatant and hypocritical species discrimination with regard to failing to apply your same standards to all manner of other at least equally sentient races.
If a group of armed brigands broke into your temple intent on doing seriously bodily harm to the regular occupants and looting the temple's possessions, you're trying to tell me you wouldn't take them to pieces? And yet you think it's consistent that whilst it's alright for you to do that you consider it insufferable that I take apart a group of uninvited thugs and looters who trespass in my home?
I also find it interesting that you apparently rank minor devils as being 'innocent' in your self-styled 'holy outrage', when referring to the beings that I inadvertantly crushed. A being of lesser wits than myself might be bewildered by this, but of course Sarenrae and Asmodeus have a history going a long way back, and maybe there's some actual truth in what I had always (apparently mistakenly) believed were empty rumours about the exact relationship of Sarenrae and Asmodeus before she became a deity. Or perhaps you were referring to the trio of halfling pit-fighters, brutalised by a couple of dozen years in Cheliax whom I inadvertently squashed as 'innocents'? (I interrogated the last surviving warrior of Abadar amongst the raiding party as to the origin and make up of the group before putting him out of his misery, just to be sure I'd caught and dealt with them all.) No, actually, I think my first instinct that you were referring to the minor devils as 'innocents' was more likely... Those halflings certainly weren't, even if whomever organised the mission seemed to have left the whole group less than adequately briefed on my sheer size, power, and magnificence.
I much appreciate, however, the subsequent wave of zealots you have forwarded in my direction after the invigorating scale-scrub you afforded me earlier. I now have quite sufficient to fill my present 'Sarendrops' obligations, and you can stop sending them. I shall forward the relic to a suitably remote hermitage of your goddess amidst the sand dunes of northern Garund. Dragons can afford to occasionally be magnanimous to you lesser races (if we're in sufficiently good moods).

What is the most bizzare creature you have encountered in your travels, not including companions that get so drunk they wear their pants on their head?
Are the markings under your eyes tattoos or makeup? If makeup, is it made from powdered lapis-lazuli or a plant-based dye?
What would be your ideal weapon?
If you had the power of a God for one minute, what would you do?
If it came down to a choice between letting a friend be destroyed beyond all manner of ressurection or stopping a Spawn of the Rough Beast from being released, what would you do?

Curious...I am not heard this dialect of elven speech. Merisiel, is this one of those "country cousins" you refer to?
Or perhaps if you'd finish the hunk of mutton in your mouth...
To address your superfluous questions...
The fabric is a special weave designed for desert travel; it is the chain mail beneath that is stifling at times. That's what endure elements is for, until a ring of endure elements was purchased.
Much attention is being paid to my helm...it was a simple purchase in the markets of Katheer. It is a fine helm. I suppose if I came into the possession of some helm or headband that gave me additional advantages, I would wear it. I am practical if anything....
My sword-arm is my right. The art depictions of this are correct...for once.

I will answer what seems to be a series of "what-if" scenarios, simply.
While it is an interesting exercise to consider what I would do under certain stressful situations, I must answer that I would do what what necessary in that moment. Sarenrae would guide me to the outcome She requires. Also, the actions of my companions would be unpredictable enough that there would likely be an entirely DIFFERENT approach that any of the alternatives you list.
I will humor you, though. Regarding the merchants...are their acts of evil before, after, or during their acts of helping the local region? This makes all the difference. If before, I would interpret their helping the region as their repentance. If during, then I would surmise that their acts of good are merely a "front" for their greater evils. Or something more sinister.
The slave fighter pit scenario....far too many unspoken factors. I suspect Valeros would want to infiltrate and stage a rebellion. I would do whatever was practical.

![]() |

One question continues to puzzle me. As a Priestess of the Dawnflower, you may be able to shed some light on it.
How can you reconcile the widespread practice of slavery in both Qadira and Katapesh with an equilly widespread church of Sarenrae?
I cannot...this is a larger issue that one humble devoted follower of the Everlight cannot change alone. It is as it was and has been for hundreds of years. It is a social caste, essentially.
I can only say that I, myself, would hold no slaves. My travels to other lands has shown me the value of freedom to all peoples. As a priestess of the Dawnflower, I would only interfere with this issue if an owner were subjecting his slaves to evil or violence.
Also, I suspect this subject will stir up the stirges' nests, so I consider this subject beyond the scope of questioning here. This particular discussion is closed.

Merisiel is Merisiel. Her advances, serious or in fun, are just a part of her way of relating to me. I honestly believe she does this merely because she enjoys my retorts and rebuffs, my eye-rolling, or my sighs of exasperation. That said, I would suspect that her intentions are a little of both, actually; a dose of jesting, with the hopes that one day I may take her advances more seriously.
Your first question is something a bit more involved, and unfortunately I must leave to address some more pressing matters. I will give it some thought, and share my experiences with you at a later time.

Hello Kyra....a couple of question so we can learn from your wisdom in case we find ourselves in similiar siturations.
1) What was the worst situration Merisiel find herself in that you had to get her out of? Was there anything you would have done differently to aviod the trouble?
2) If you have another cleric(or oracle or anybody else with access to healing magic) and they refuse to let you do all the healing for the party instead of sharing the duties, would you consider not using your healing abilities on that person(barring of course that person is dieing of course) to a way to deal with that aituration?
3) Have you ever had to work with a evil person to defeat a greater evil? If so how did you deal with it? If not...how do you think you would eal with it?
Thank you for your time. Hope the battle vs evil and the redemption of people who have been lost in darkness is going well.

I asked it in a respectful and thoughtout manner of course. If I just asked "So do you think Merisiel really wants to have wild and crazy sex with you, and do you think you are going to say yes someday?" I don't think she would likely have responded. Wording is important for inquiries.

If you ever found the surviving bandits that burned down your home, what would you do with them?
Have you ever thought about stopping your adventures to take up a more protective role of a singular community, or do you feel that travelling as you do is more productive to the Dawnflower's vision?
And what would be your preferred enchanted weapon?

Hello fellow cleric, I have a few questions for you.
Have you had a chance to use any of the new spells that just came out? If so whats your favorite one?
Do you find it frustrating when you've just healed your party members and then they go run off to find more trouble?
Have you ever thought about charging for your services? In times like those mentioned above it almost seems like a good idea...

Before you do that make sure theat the Lamashtites did not actually succeed in their mission.
Perhaps they wished to corrupt those wayfinders. Remember, many Pathfinders are followes of her rival Desna. Who better to make a sacrifice (or broodmare) then a Desnan priest(ess) led astray by their own wayfinder?
Yes, yes. I see all the questions. I will return to them in a short while.
True. You actually have responsibilities, unlike a certain elven rogue ...

Paladin of Lamashtu |

No, no, no. You don't understand the followers of Lamashtu properly. They wanted to sit around in a circle, weaving flowers into those wayfinders, and singing happy songs to send positive energy out into the world. They wanted to help the Pathfinders (at least the Good ones) to do their jobs better and to make the world a safer, nicer, place. I'm sure that they meant to ask nicely if they could borrow the Wayfinders, but maybe you didn't understand them correctly, or maybe they meant to stop the wayfinders from getting to Bad Pathfinders.
Or at least, if they were real followers of Lamashtu, that's what they meant to do. It's possible that they were bad, wicked, men from the Church of Asmodeus, or one of the other churches of evil gods, pretending to be Lamashtans to give Us folks who serve the Great Mother a bad name. There are a lot of naughty folk about, sadly, who try to do things like that.
Oh, and I have to explain this sooner or later, I find: No, I am not crazy, no matter what other people who don't understand me properly say. And why would the goddess have me around, doing her work for her, if I were crazy? I mean that would be insane, and Lamashtu certainly isn't a goddess of crazy people. She's a nice, kind, gentle goddess, who loves wild animals, so I expect she would look after people who are crazy, but she doesn't have any special interests in them, and anyone who says she does has fallen for propaganda put out by Asmodeus.
