Hello everyone,
After a few attempts to create my own campaign, I've come to the realization that I don't have enough time to do everything from scratch. I do think I would have enough time available to get RotRL up to speed with the PFRPG (especially considering all of the fan-made content and conversions already avaialbe here and on the PFSRD - all you guys rock, by the way).
Has anyone run the AP using material from the APG? Specifically, I'm curious about the extra classes. I have one player that I think would love to play a summoner, and I'm just curious as to how well they will fit in.
With all the discussion available on this AP, I'm excited to run my crew through it, and I'll be sure to add anything that I come up with as well!

I'm currently running my group through the AP (we're over a year in and nearing the beginning of Chapter 4), and I have allowed my players to use a good number of options from the APG, with great results. I feel that the classes fit in very well, thanks mostly to the design of the classes as well as the design of Sandpoint and Varisia as a whole.
For example, one PC is a young dwarf descended from a line of Janderhoff Wall Wardens, who began as a fighter specializing in defense. After some disturbing encounters at Skull's Crossing...
The dwarf has now been studying alchemy to create bombs for use in defense of the town, essentially building an artillery.
As you can tell from above, I have been changing the NPCs in the campaign as well, updating them and changing them with the new APG info, which has been great fun for the group as a whole. Facing an alchemist or an witch breaks up the monotany of fighting barbarian ogres over and over again.

Im running a group through the AP as well. Ive got both a cavalier (halfling who rides a baby t-rex) and an alchemist (just opened his own shop in town) in the group and they seem to fit in well enough just fine.
The cavalier gets a little bored at times, I think, cause most of the encounters are in enclosed or small areas, so he doesnt have alot of room to charge. The alchmist though seems to really enjoy his character, despite rolling lots of 1s on attack rolls.
Ive altered several of the baddies for the module so far with class levels or features from the APG, and even made one person a ninja.

This...
Is...Awesome!
Not having invested in the APs yet, I'm not sure what the encounters are. I'm assuming you guys had an encounter of, lets say, 5 ogre fighters, and just said "I'm going to make this 4 fighters and 1 alchemist"? Or are you having to adjust the number of opponents too?
Just thought of a few more questions:
1) Since this AP is written for 3.5, I am assuming it uses the Fast XP progression. How much work would it be to make it medium or slow XP progression.
2) Assuming the fast xp progression, when converting to PF stats, do the CR and/or XP awards work out so the level progression is maintained? I seem to recall that CRs for Class levels were different between 3.5 and PF, and I'm wondering if there will need to be some fudging to make up any difference, or is it close enough that it doesn't really matter?
Thanks again for the responses! As soon as I hit submit on this post, I'm downloading the PDFs!
