And then there's the metric crapton of s&#* I've either been throwing out or planning to donate.

Speaking of donating, you'd think they'd make it easier. Salvation Army will come to your house to pick s+*% up, but 10 to 1 it'll be at a time of their convenience. No thanks.

I found two book bins within a decent drive from my house, bothoperated by BetterWorldBooks.com. And they were both full to the brim.

And the nearest Goodwill I actually feel safe about visiting is near work. So I'd have to leave for a bit to go visit it.

Scarab Sages

Nekkid donations!?!

Scarab Sages

WOOHOO!!!

Scarab Sages

Damnit! Why can't they just have a wizard come to my house and do a Teleport Crap spell?

Scarab Sages

Another problem is trying to balance packing s&!# up with keeping out stuff we need to get by. Especially where the boy's concerned.

It used to be quite a drive to one for me - either all the way to Cleveland, or on the other side of Chatt by the theatres - but now there's one opened up that's on the way to work, right by the Wendy's and Dunkin' Donuts I pass every day. Went there when I cleaned out my closet and bought new work shirts at the beginning of the month. Yay!

Scarab Sages

But enough about that crap! I've had coffee. I've had (a form of) breakfast. I'm not out in the rain.

Let a day of joyous b%~~*#~! commence!

I've lucked out in the getting rid of clothes department. The nearby shopping complex has two clothing drop boxes. I've visited those a lot in the last month or so.

It's everything else that's giving me problems. Especially old books.

Scarab Sages

I shall now go and do things.

Nice. There's a vote for the (football) goal of the season, and the list is all various top-players from across Europe (and one Dumbarton player), and then there's this.

Mind you, if they'd entered drama into the equation, they'd not need a vote

And I'm off. Be back maybe around lunch. Hopefully will be less jittery then. (Probably not. This is the "need sleep badly" jitters -_-)

Practically dead this morning in the cab stand.

RTC workers refuse to drive do to new management. Bus lanes will be understaffed. Good for me, if the fairs are there this afternoon.

Otherwise, I expect a dismissal book. Seriously, I wanted the day off.

I have Lost Cities of Golarion to keep me company. The evil idea mill is cranking and turning.

Mom manages hers with medication. So if it's positive, it'll likely just be another pill I have to take.

Honestly, a clash with the medications I'm already on - one for heartburn/acid reflux, one for allergies, a vitamin-D supplement, and sudafed because my sinus problems have gotten worse since having teeth removal surgery - is what worries me most right now.

I also hope it's nothing of note.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! A rather craptasticly rainy day here in Philly. Hell, on the drive to work at one point we could hardly see the road it was raining so hard. Seems to have slacked off a bit since then, but it's still supposed to rain all day.

Please forward some rain to Colorado. Thanks!

Not so much for RPG books, but a lot of public libraries will take everything else. I donated 3 or 4 boxes full of novels and the like to a library before I moved.

It doesn't even have to be stuff that they want. Most libraries will look through your box, decide if there are 1 or 2 things worth putting on the shelves, and putting all the rest in their stash for the library book sale.

Some will also take DVDs and VHS tapes.

I recommend calling around.

Speaking of which, there was a snapshot photo of me tucked into the pages of a paperback copy of Interview with a Vampire from my brother's wedding. (Perhaps someone gave me the photo and I had the book with me and tucked it inside the cover to keep it safe; not sure.) I did not notice it when I donated the book, but about 2 months later a friend of mine called me because she was at a little used bookstore and happened to be thumbing through a used copy of Interview with a Vampire and saw a picture of me.

What are the odds that someone I know very well would happen to stumble across that book with the photo tucked inside?

She mailed me the photo.

Those photos look wonderful, aeglos!

I had my choir concert this weekend, and it went well.

Erm. The music went well, at any rate. One of the old guys in the choir passed out on stage. They think he was just dehydrated and unaccustomed to being on his feet for that long. They took him to the hospital just in case, but he is alright. I think people will be talking more about that than the music.

He is. He's out of the hospital already. I think it bruised his pride more than anything else :(

A lot of the older people sit on stools or chairs during the concerts so they don't have to be on their feet, but he was too proud to do so. That sort of thing is hard to accept.

Indeed. I'm staying with my 87 year old Dad while my Sister takes a break before I have to get back to Colorado to deal with the current extended family tragedy. It's very hard for me to watch his health fail and his capabilities sharply diminish, but he is still quite lucid so it's obviously harder for him.

And that reminds me of another thing - here we have the famous Free Library of Philadelphia, locations all over the city. There's even one just a few minutes from my house. I called that one, and he told me that branch doesn't take used books but that I could try Good Will.

So, to the Free Library of Philadelphia I give a fond F+*~ YOU!!

Ugh. Packing.

I ended up throwing nearly 75% of my books away, moving from Michigan to TX. I still miss some of them....

::sniff::

Hope the packing and throwing and donating and such goes well!

CoT tonight! We should be finishing up The Sixfold Trial this session, after which I depart the land of the as-written and sink or swim in the oceans of adding homebrew content in the rowboat I call the SS Lolwhatamidoing.

Lost my analogy there. Whoops.

Hurt pride is so painful.

Back from Derp Heresy. I think that my melee-oriented character has some secret spotter talent that allows other party members score impressive shots against opponents he is adjacent to. Especially after he misses an attack himself.

I have weird heartbeat issues if my calcium, potassium, or magnesium levels get low. A few supplements later, and my heartbeat is a lot more stable, plus no muscle cramps/spasms. YMMV, but it's a quick and easy fix.

I hate throwing stuff away, but books are especially hard. I don't mind mind getting new gaming stuff in PDF, but I can't stand throwing out books. I've given thousands of dollars of comics and gaming books away to friends, but even donating books to strangers is hard for me.

I'm going to schedule a doctor's appointment tomorrow (at a hospital not far from work, so that's nice) and go from there =)

Looking at the meds, the sudafed (if it's actually sudefedrine not the phenylephrine) might be part of the problem. Mom has an irregular heartbeat and finds that this med (and Tylenol) causes her heartbeat to speed up uncontrollably at times.

Hope things get better!
