Meh, I drink beer and mead. Sometimes harder stuff. But if someone else doesn't want to, I got no problems with that. I may joke around and give them a hard time, but never very seriously.
Did we have any non drinking FAWTLs at Paizocon? I don't think we gave them a hard time. Did we?
I don't think I give folks a hard time who don't share my vices and hobbies, but I would feel awful if I did. I don't think I'm troubled by someone not being into football or hunting any more than, say, them not being into gaming.

Yeah a gentle ribbing and teasing among friends is fine. That's not the kind of thing that irritates me.
Frankly I have to wonder why I'm giving this much of a care about the opinions of people on the internet who I am never going to game with, never going to meet, and never going to have to deal with in person.

Actually for someone 6'6" every dress will be rather on little side...

I've got Twilight Imperium (well, honestly, the cunning friends guessed that giving me Twilight Imperium will mean that it will be I who will have to carry it to sessions...), plush cat (it's lovely) and an amount of sweets, chocolate and homemade cookies/muffins that would last for week... Which for me will mean around three days.
Also a very practical gift of a polar fleece blouse which I have worn for the whole party...

I was given one shot of cherry vodka, two or three cups of rum with cola, one serving of kamikaze drink (which in Poland is drink made of vodka, Curacao blue instead of Curacao triple sec and with lemon juice instead of lime). Mild buzzing reached but quickly passed. I haven't drank kamikaze for ages. It brings memories.

Not so good morning FAWTLY Folk! Been in the hospital since yesterday afternoon with the boy. He woke from his nap with a high fever and accelerated heartbeat. Tylenol and motrin have been taking care of his fever, and his heart rate has come down, but not far enough.
They ran some blood tests and didn't find anything bad. Thinking is that it's a virus.
They kept him overnight for observation. So this is where we've been as well.

"In teaching, being spontaneous is more important than planning."
I...may have swapped "DMing" in there, looked at my meticulous CoT notes, and mashed STRONGLY AGREE.
Not just yeah.
HECK YES (been watching adventure time).
I have found that I must conform to my players like water conforms to a vessel. The "I'm the dm, sit down, shut up and march through this dungeon!!" approach does not work for me.

Definitely. And this is why I can't GM in a live setting. PBP is fine because I have that minute to take a breath and figure out what's next (cause who actually bothers planning? I mean really...) but in real life it's just too stressful. Even with a computer right there in front of me I'm too slow. I greatly respect those who can do it. It's an amazing skill.

To me, it's style, not skill. I can't do PBP to save my life as a player or as a DM because I can't sit down in front of the computer that long. PBP simply isn't my style. I need people around me to game with or be live if I'm going to be in front of a computer.

Mrgh. Still in the hospital. They're pretty sure he's got some kind of viral infection. Still getting high fever, but Motrin takes care of that. His heart rate is still higher than it should be, though.
They took X-ray of his chest to check his heart and lungs. And they want to give it until 24 hours after his first symptoms (which would be later tonight), to see if his blood culture shows anything new.
If nothing bad pops up from all that, they may let us take him home. I'm hoping that's the case because he really wants to go home.
