Meet and greet and game set up tonight. Rough idea is the old necromancers game mod wizards amulet/crucible of Freya, mainly because I have and have ran it before and it is more than a bit sandboxy. I am however going to place the game in the land of the linnorm kings halfway betwixt Kalsgard and Trollhiem, with the name of the town renamed to Winterhaven. I think it is a good set up and a nice intro to Golarion without using every damned option. Sometimes less is more.
I ran that in the Scarred Lands. It was a blast!
5-3 victory in hockey last night, against a previously undefeated team!
I was at a fight once, and a hockey game broke out.
Nope no fighting or checking, not that that stops some people.

And in other good news with some help I found some of my photos and documents hiding out in a sub-sub-directory on my external hard drive. The thing is totally messed up and needs to be wiped clean once I extract what files it did back up, but at least I didn't lose everything. Just the recent stuff.

@FHDM: Nuh-uh. That excuse doesn't fly. I have what can be kindly described as a special relationship with time, which is to say I have no sense of time whatsoever, but I still get the kidlet and myself to school on time every day. It's not easy. Especially when you're extra distractible, but I know it's possible. I just can't bear the rudeness of being late. My dad (who also has dyscalculia) made us late to everything when I was growing up and I hated it, always apologizing everywhere we went and never being able to just relax and enjoy stuff because we were always rushing around. So I learned how to be on time even with my crappy sense of time. Things are so much more peaceful that way.
Whalp. Time to go see Mr. Dentist again. Yay! Paying folks money to cause you pain FTW!

Yeah that Lestat movie with Aaliyah was eminently forgettable.Indeed. Sad thing is, I used to love the Anne Rice books. Even went to one of her public Halloween parties one year. I dressed as a priest - it was awesome. People kept coming up to take pictures with me.
Anyway, then a few years back, Rice got into some big stink with Al Copeland, the owner of Popeyes Fried Chicken, because he bought a refurbished a building she liked and had written into one of the Lestat books. She acted like a f!!~ing child during the whole fiasco. I haven't read any of her stuff since.
I liked her original trilogy, then she kinda got all Mary Sue about Lestat. Writers should never fall in love with their protagonists, it leads to sloppy writing. =/
Then there was her pretentiousness, which showed in all of her interviews. I really believe she thought she was the Greatest Writer Evar.
Then there was her conversion to Christianity, and then her Unconversion to Christianity, both of which I felt were awfully self-serving. I may not be Christian, but damn, if you're gonna convert to a religion and back out again, don't treat it like changing politics.
Yeah, and most of the books I read after were drecky. Some of the vampire bios were OK. Pandora I remember kindly.
She's a crazy one. I find her books hit or miss. The writing style is very... decadent? poetic? Not sure how to describe it, but it's like eating a very rich dessert. Sometimes I can't get enough of it, but other times I want her to hurry up and get to the point.
I have a feeling her romance novels are probably even more extravagant, although I don't think I could bring myself to read a romance novel.
I liked the first vampire book and thought the second one was okay, but by the end of the second one, I had stopped caring about the characters and didn't want to read more.
I loved Cry to Heaven.
Point missed.

Never really got into Goth culture, and vampires have never been a favorite subject of mine.

Sawzall actually. Circular saws can catch the nails, and that's never good. Sawzalls are much more forgiving. If you had a FB page I had some posted pics of the Celtic-knotwork grain on some of the 'real' logs I was splitting.
Tip for cheap woodburners: If a landscaper offers you unsplit wood for $100/cord, most like it is going to be all the pieces he didn't want to split himself. Man this stuff is GNARLY.

I say new guy as in he was hired 3 months ago. This week boss is up in Boston with his girlfriend, and this guy has been late everyday.
Wed: 45min late, Thur: 20min late, Today: 10min late BEFORE he calls to tell me he's going to be another 30min.
I'm getting tired of calling the customers and telling them we're going to have to reschedule them on account of this douche.
Why does this guy still have a job?
