So, today was a session, and it was awesome.
When they returned to Stagshelm, they were met with news of children going missing in the night. After doing some investigation on the subject, they managed to track down the cultists of Gyronna behind the kidnappings. While the heroes managed to strike down half the cultists and capture the other half, they found three children (a changeling named Tatiana, her medusa friend Euphemia and a mute forlarren named Fina) nobody at the village knew about, which Sage chose to took under his wing after recognizing some wizardly talent in them. Soon after, Tatiana revealed she was actually a witch and Euphemia is more suited to the path of a sorceress (her jabberwork lineage was found out about with some help from the kobold sorcerers) while Fina was given to the care of Tiressa, who plans to raise her on the path of good as a druid. Having all that arranged, Oruda, Sage and Ciaran are suddenly invited to Kiriv's wedding.
One week later, the troll sightings have dropped significantly while Rokhura and Neregui reported back and found that there were more of them than they had anticipated. As the heroes realized their map had some important details missing and the younger brother Bokken mentioned was still running around, they chose to take a path westward. Taking down the crazy younger brother on the way, they then arrived at the elven ruins. Surprisingly, they managed to disarm both of the traps in the area and sneak into the Dancing Lady's chamber without the Grimstalker or Rigg the Quickling noticing them. Sage used diplomacy while also being extremely careful with the Dancing Lady (whom he didn't really trust after a Knowledge Nature check), and managed to broker an agreement after letting her get a taste of Ciaran's blood (the Dancing Lady took an immediate liking to him) despite his refusal to agree to this at first. Now they plan to head back to Stagshelm to update the situation, leave off again to investigate the tomb that the Mad Hermit's map told of, and then launch an attack on the trolls that have been hounding them all this time.
So in summary...
- Monsters dispatched
- New allies acquired
- Kiriv is married
- Sage has two apprentices now
- Ciaran has gotten a rather obsessive admirer
...I'm looking forward to the next session, since we probably will be moving to Varnhold Vanishing then.

Fruit cake is out of the oven. I had to bake it a lot longer than the recipe said. That is probably because I lined the pan with parchment paper instead of foil, which would would have conducted heat better. Anyway, it looks impressive, but may very well taste disgusting.
Let us know how it turns out.

Reminiscing with Dad about WW2 and his time as a Navy corpsman in the Pacific theater and uncle Harold storming the beaches at Iwo Jima and uncle Bob's service in the Korean War. Dad served at Peal Harbor.
When we moved to Odessa TX (when I was 3) gas was 21 cents a gallon and smokes were a quarter a pack.
It provides an interesting and special perspective. I imagine I will remember this time fondly in the future.

During the initial Japanese attack or later?

I wonder if there's any place where I could request or commission some designs for a few coats of arms. Would be nice for the nation in Kingmaker to have a coat of arms, as well as have ones made for the cities of Stagshelm (the capital), Levendia (currently a town where Oleg's Trading Post resides) and Tatzlford (those who have played Kingmaker know where this is), not to mention Varnhold and Fort Drelev.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve FAWTL!
My holiday is over, but I still will open presents on Wednesday in deference to my more Abrahamic kin.
I hope this season finds you all happy and in the company of loved ones. Make sure to give them all an extra hug or two, you never know if you'll be able to do it later.
Monkey, out
