Tofu fries for those who have fries cravings. I tried the deep fried version before, they were nice but very filing. More then normal fries would be. It was all I could do to finish the meal with a cup of no sugar soya milk.

You can do it! It's all about attitude and believing in yourself. I was 110 pounds when I started working in construction.
Ya that same attitude applies for distance running as well. Think on how tired you are, you'll fail. But just stay focused(my breathing control really helps) and you can do it!
One thing about work is I hate leaving jobs half done so if something is half finished I'll try to get it done even if it means staying late etc.
And I hate being called to do something else when I'm in the middle of doing something.

I've recently realized this about myself as well.
Sometimes there's no help for it, but "Good at focusing on a single task until convenient milestone" and "Doesn't like switching tasks on momentary notice" are going to make an appearance in future interviews.

I went to the theater to see Alita : Battle Angel today and I enjoyed it. It was a good adaptation of the manga and the respect and love for that manga showed in the movie. Is it perfect? No. But it is enjoyable and they really tried to get the feel for the manga. I will be seeing it again in the theater and buying the DVD when it comes out.

I received a tracking number for a thing I ordered, and it confuses me. I'm used to seeing long random strings of numbers, or numbers and letters. But this one looks like this (not the actual number, but representative):
1.23E+12
So, my tracking number is an exponential? Have do they really need numbers that high now? And why is it that the tracking number for the other thing I ordered (at the same time, from the same retailer, on the same order just split into two shipments) is just 12 digits? Just weird.

Likely an error.
Possibly due to some glitch the tracking number generated was longer than the system can handle, so the system instead represented it as an exponential number to fit it within the string limit, just like calculators do when facing too long strings.
At least I think so.

I had to go to Menard's for a furnace filter and laces for my boots, and ended up in the Toys R Us parking lot, not even close.
I went to go to the bank to pay rent, but as I was leaving I thought "Tiny T-Rex sure would love to get picked up from school in my snow truck" so instead of going to the bank I found myself accidentally driving by his school. Again, not even close.
I went to the mall to get a little something for the General, but found myself at Shopko instead, which is kind of close, and I needed new shoes anyway, so I'll let that slide.
It's a good thing I developed impeccable driving habits early in life otherwise I might have left a trail of destruction in my wake.

I loved White Castle when I was a kid, but (a) we only ate there on special occasions, when we were in Chicago to visit family, and we would stop on our way to museums or Cubs games, so that artificially raises the value in my memory, and (b) I haven't eaten there in over thirty years, so I'm prepared to accept that it probably tastes pretty lousy.

Whingey Wizzard has a job interview today at 9:30.
It's his second interview this week with a local company that places extracurricular specialist teachers in local schools, the position is a management position that oversees and coordinates programs.
For once, his rather eccentric resume and provable skill set are a pretty good fit. His first interview earlier this week was with someone who was junior to the position but with whom he would be working with a lot; today's interview is with the HR director.
And then he has a lunch meeting today with the pastor at our church about bringing an early morning Aikido class into the church two days a week. We already have another church member doing a yoga twice a week, so there is precedent, and the pastor wants to do more to make the church a place where folks in the community come during the week other than for the grocery bag distribution. The yoga guy does a free class but has a donation box, so basically the same structure as WW's "free dojo" back in California. It would do him a LOT of good to be teaching again. And a 7:00 class is something he could do and still work a 9-5.
So... fingers firmly crossed. This could be a good day.

Despite being on autopilot nearly the entire day, I nailed Valentine's Day, both literally and figuratively.
I think you mean you nailed it figuratively and...double figuratively? Twice-over figuratively?
TS, figurative grammar nazi, hoping your V day celebrations did not literally include hammer and nails

But we were warned at the very beginning of the AP that it would be an undead-themed AP, and I chose to play a rogue instead of a cleric anyway. So that's totally on me.
It's a nice try, but it's quite a bit off:
(1) After playing divine casters in the last three APs, I insisted that I would not be playing a divine caster, and would prefer to play an arcane caster(2) After eight years of never once playing an arcane caster, I said that I'd like to play an arcane caster. I was told that someone else had already taken it, because of course. (I wouldn't mind nearly so much if so many of them didn't play arcane casters so poorly. "What's the next 'boom' spell on the list? I'll queue up all of those, because that's my job, right?")
(3) After watching two people desperately trying and failing to play rogues, and fondly recalling my GMNPC rogue from our very first AP (Crimson Throne), I decided to bring her back to have fun playing a "disruptor/trickster" rogue.
So it had nothing to do with my expectation of traps from Shiro, and nothing to do with my trying to break the group. In fact, I was pretty unhappy that after explicitly saying that I would not be playing a divine caster, the best we got was an inquisitor who (almost) never cast a heal spell. A lot of our healing was provided by my rogue with a wand of CLW and a UMD roll.
When we couldn't find a fourth player, I brought in a barbarian to try to provide the high DPS we'd need in a low-healing group, but he died very early to a group of zombie dogs, we all decided we needed more healing so another guy brought in the paladin, and as I've noted, the paladin is so ineffective as to be as much of a drag on the party as the rogue.

Yeah, there are stupid interview questions, and then there are ones people handle stupidly.
"What is your worst trait/what is your biggest weakness?" and its variants is really supposed to be an introspective question: Do you know what you're weak at? So many managers have turned it into an, "If the candidate answers this question honestly they lose the job," that it's amazingly frustrating. Because yeah, I single-track and don't like to be disturbed. My manager likes to know that. We interviewed a candidate. She said her writing skills were superb, but her technical skills were lacking. We could work with that. Another guy admitted he had little experience in the industry, so we'd have to train him up. Knowing how to support a co-worker is golden. Having SO many a$$hat managers turn it into a 'trap' question is mind-bogglingly frustrating.
About 50-60% of our candidates give the Mary Poppins, "I'm practically perfect in every way," which is a big red mark against them.
But yes. "I like to focus on a single task and hate to be disturbed" is definitely me.

Blame Microsoft Excel, and don't even get me started.
Our record IDs in our system are 14-digit numbers, say 300000000000001. We have to do imports using comma-separated value (CSV) spreadsheets.
If you open a CSV file in Microsoft Excel and it contains a large number, Excel auto-converts it to scientific notation, so it's suddenly 3E+14. And it saves it in that format in the CSV file, beraking our import.
Really, really, really cheeses us off, and it's an inexcusable programming blunder: "Here's a text-based file. I'm going to replace concrete values with symbols so no other program can use this file any more" is SO Microsoft, and SO evil...

If you key your tracking number into excel spreadsheet its likely so long that you get an exponential number.

No one wants to play a divine caster because everyone expects you to be a heal bot and that's not fun at all. I'm happy to be a buff bot, but not happy to be a heal bot. Inquisitors get limited number of spells. Human FCB helps, but it's still limited and using them for heal spells is boring...

I love playing a divine caster for the raw unadulterated game-altering power you get by 8th level with your second set of domain abilities.
But c'mon; after THREE CAMPAIGNS IN A ROW I was ready to try something different. And nobody wanted to take up the slack.

One thing I really like about 4e is classes that are expected to heal get a minor-action heal feature, so they can heal a couple times while bringing the pain. Players who want to go the healbot route can take further healing powers, especially divine classes.
I'm going a more traditional route with my heartbreaker, insofar as healing requires explicitly magical per-day spells. But I've got nothing good to say about D&D's arcane/divine divide -- I think it's a weird relic of real-world religion -- so healing spells are open to any caster class. Not necessarily every caster, in fact if you're a priest of anything but a god of healing you probably have zero healing power at all. But if you're a wizard for example, you can totally study up on the healing arts as well as you can the blaster arts.

No, no it's not. Everyone's life comes to an end. Please treat them with some dignity, and when it's time for them to go, let them go.
Good on you, Friend, for defeating the machines and going when you were supposed to.
