You don't actually have to execute the rest btw. Doom just has some extreme issues...

Also you can do it nekkid if you want.

So the gallstone was out? How big was it? Ok that is beginning to sound rather morbid.
So the doctor did the scan and didn't find a block but by that time the pain had passed. He assumed that the morphine helped it pass through. So no real way to say how big it was. He said there was a chance it could of been an ulcer but I don't drink or have any of the habits that cause them so the gallstone was far more likely that combined with where the pain was at.
OK that's good to hear its out. This is one of those things better out then in. Will you have problems claiming insurance for this?
Yes this ordeal is probably going to cost me but fortunately I can make payments and there is no interest plus since I'm uninsured they give me like a 89% discount on the cost. They have not sent me the final bill yet however so it will still probably be ridiculous. We will see.

You mean your hotel doesn't insure for this kind of thing?

That is also true.

I'm beginning to think is it the nature of those who can do 2/day postings to act in that fashion? So am I wrong to expect you to at least talk to NPCs?

Look I don't expect you to be particularly eloquent, Lord knows I'm not, but at least say something?

I was even told to handwave party introductions like each party telling the other party their name. Eh. I think that whether you're willing to tell the other party your name makes difference in dealings.

Me: It also strikes me as a bit odd that most of the time (except for Grenwold) you start talking to NPCs without actually introducing yourselves, but since some of the NPCs are not exactly normal (or have other things on their mind), if you don't introduce your names, they usually don't bother introducing themselves as well.

Player: It's common screen writing shorthand that greatings and introductions are often assumed to happen off screen. This is done because they often carry no story weight while taking up valuable time. I basically assume the same things in my games so I don't have to spend time role playing intros all the time.

Me: I do not assume that because names are power. So an omission is deliberate because you're trying to indicate you do not want to be contacted or have information found out about you in the future.

Also spells such as sending, scrying base on the familiarity with the creature, of which names play a part.

So there is significance to not introducing your name. Some NPCs may read it as a form of you being guarded and not be as open with you, and similarly will reciprocate without telling you their names either.

As a GM, I am happy to RP as many intros as you want(I have crazy activity on my awake time and this is an RPG) and I could do the happy yak all day, though if you insist I can just do it barebones and get the message across.

Also I don't assume players said or did anything generally unless it's in gameplay thread just to prevent anyone claiming later, no I never said that. You have the right to tell NPCs only what you want them to hear, granted some sneaky ones will try to eavesdrop extras, but that's perception on their end.

Yeah as a general rule I don't assume the players do anything off screen unless its discussed with me with the exception of bathroom stuff and eating when it is not related to events.

I did once confuse a party (at a table, not PBP) by saying something along the lines of "Sorry guys. We're going to be moving slow today. Last night's dinner didn't agree with my character, so we're gonna have to stop a LOT for him to s~&%."

... that could be considered related to events.

It's like you should bot everything that gives the most advantages automatically and don't do things that will detrimentally affect us. Then where is the element of choice in an RPG? You have the right to go to hell in a gilded carriage.

And Id consider it laziness in addition to that, wanting the benefits without bearing the burden.

Yeah so many people moan when its not easy mod now a days. Sometimes you go to work for it!

The Exchange

I do sometimes tweak APs. I'll admit. I think people might want me to follow them more strictly so that since they have read the AP from cover to cover, they know what spells to prep and when to use them.

I feel like a player pre-reading the AP to know what spells to memorize is cheating.

The Exchange

I mean as a player when I did play, I'd usually have a set spell list involving see invisibility, daylight, resist energy (communal), with a reach rod and maybe at low levels, magic weapon. But that's about it. I did try to cover as many grounds as possible.

Took some ibuprofen to suppres the fever. It helps. But im still really tired and my stomach is a bit sensitive.

All in all it would have been better to take s ick day. I was sweating profusely during the night. Usually my modus operandi is then to try and sweat it out as long as i can. Get out of bed. Take some medicine to supress the fever. Take a shower. Then go back to bed for more sleep.

But cant really call in sick on my first day.

Players reading the AP in order to get any advantage (such as knowing who the killer is, or where the hidden doors are, or which favored enemy to take, not just spell choice) is cheating. You want to read the parts you've already played through to see if there was something you missed (as long as you don't try to use that knowledge later) is fine. But reading ahead isn't.

Aye I agree. Ofcourse I almost never run APs.

The Exchange

The problem about being one of the reliable GMs around is that you end up running stuff before you even get a chance to play.

The mystery of the talkative introvert. I guess it applies to me.

Just a Mort wrote:

I think the issue is a the definitions people associate with introvert and extrovert tend to be flawed. People think introvert = shy. In reality can be extroverted and shy (although that is very dysfunctional like the article said) or introverted and shy.

Basically if you get an introvert to talk to you. we expect you to be giving us your undivided attention.

Yeah that is a lot of drama. Hes wrong about the complain thing. There is nothing wrong with relieving stress by expressing yourself.

Makes me glad I have a group of friends that understand our individual idiosyncrasies. Even if they can't always get there schedules fixed right.

Considering it's my first snow run that lasted over 12 hours in several years, I'll take it.

Random thread?! It's not like you threw a bunch of threads into the dice roller and went b&#+#ing in whatever thread it spit out.

Although, that DOES sound like fun...

It's good to have somewhere you can vent, if they can't understand that, f+@@ them.

And, it's not like you were here calling people out by name so I don't see why that pissed them off so much.

And that's one of the reasons why I don't like Texans. And was not as supportive about your move as I should have been. Sorry, LM. I'm not perfect, I can be irritational, prejudiced etc. Despite being a cat.

To be honest I'm too tongue tied to RP at a table, besides due to the fact I'm not spontaneous, I can't really RP at a table. And when I get excited I start speaking too fast and no one hears me anyway.

So at least in PBP land since its all text, what I want to say gets heard. And in PBP land, I have time to think up my response so I sound at least passably eloquent, though I don't think I'll be winning prizes in that category either.

Did you spread the muscle rub liberally and get into a massage chair? I usually do that after a hard workout. It's never too late to put that muscle rub on!

Also, I dunno but maybe some stretching might help.

The Exchange

I think online I almost seem extroverted. But again you haven't heard me giving those newbies beatsaber advice(don't go for expert difficulty if it's your first try on rhythm games!), or telling people their socks are too loose and may fall out before a run. I can be quite the nosey Parker at times.

No idea what a muscle rub is besides something erotic the General can do later. Massage chairs are only found in malls or spas, both places I don't go (I can't afford a spa). I do stretches though.

Honestly, I'd love to have a hot tub I can chillax in.

Getting someone to muscle rub you also works.

When you're married every good old fashioned massage turns erotic, or at least it does for us.
