+1

We're having a kids day event at work today. 300 kids running amuck. Mid-90s temperature. Plus our group helps with the set up, clean up, and take down, and HR gets all the kudos from the bosses.

I need to sneak down and make myself one of the squirt gun dyed t-shirts. Those look cool. Who said only the kids can have fun?

Tonight? Tonight, I will collapse.

Scarab Sages

MMmmm....Anna Paquin.

Oh, I found my mind when I got divorced. :) That one must belong to someone else.

(Marriage is a wonderful thing for many people, but it was a disastrous experiment in trying to conform to social norms for me. I'm much happier and saner as a single person.)

my marriage is far, far from normal.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that all marriages fit a particular standard of 'normal'. Sorry if it came across that way.

TMI:
But my own marriage happened during a period of my life when I was caving into societal pressure to pass as straight, and the fact that I'm NOT straight (or particularly comfortable with monogamy) made it a disaster. These days, I'm very happy being single and having a close group of friends and chosen family around me-- I haven't felt any need to pursue romantic relationships in a long time.

worry not, dear Lindisty, I was more thinking about the strange conversations my wife and I have than anything else. For example...

andromeda freehold is playing assassins creed
freehold- my god! You just stabbed that man in the face!
andromeda(calmly) -you have to go through the face to get to the brain.
more sounds of death screams from the xbox
andromeda- huh. That one was a bleeder.
Freehold- horrified look

Sovereign Court

I am prevented by my HOA from becoming a crazy cat lady. I am only allowed 2 of any particular type of petlike animal.

Thus I could have 2 parrots, 2 cockatoos, 2 cats, 2 gerbils, 2 rats, 2 snakes, 2 iguanas, 2 hamsters, 2 rabbits, 2 dogs and 2 tarantulas, but I may not have 3 cats.

O.o

sometimes rules are just stupid.

soooooo, you and your neighbours will build and Ark?

edit: ups, ninja'd

Sovereign Court

sure! Sounds like fun!

But only pet animals are allowed. So no chickens or cows or pigs. If we flood, what will happen? How will we get BACON?!?

Sounds like a great conflict to drive the plot for book one.

But pigs can be pets. So they should be okay. :)

The real question is, what version of jess door will they use for the cover? I vote for japan jess door!

She is a gamer, but I don't think she is going to see much of the con. She has a sister in Seattle, and we're bringing her grand daughters, but I'm sure she'd be tickled to have Sabine along for some of the local stuff.

We're driving so she will have a vehicle also.

That's beautiful. :)

(I think that if my marriage had included conversations like that, it might have been a more positive experience for both of us. ;))

Diane is going to want to block off some family time, but she would be happy to have Sabine along for a day of sight seeing assuming Sabine doesn't mind a 10 year old girl and a 14 year old girl. :)

I'll be happy to PM our emails.
