One did one Cheeto say to the other Cheeto? I can't tell you, it's too cheesy.

Edit: Nekkid and cheesy? Could be a great way to end a date. Or not. I don't know. It could really suck if you are lactose intolerant and she left halfway through dinner.

If I were on death row, I would request my last meal to be pop rocks and cola so I could die on my own terms.

Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to phish, and he'll start scamming people over email.

Yes, but more importantly, your subscriber tag list is three words longer.

Ah yes, Wisconsin weather! We start out with rain showers in the morning followed by a sudden spike in temperature to the upper 80s by late afternoon with a fun filled evening of thunderstorms and possibly a couple dozen tornadoes.

You are all no doubt worried for me in the "heat wave of the decades" here in California.

It is 74. I went for my walk. I put on a hat.

I believe I am OK.

Polish. Grandma's parents lived in Tarnow. Grandpa was from the northeastern part of Malopolska, in the area that went through "Russification", so when he turned 14 in 1908, his mother sold what she had to buy him ship passage to Canada so he wouldn't end up conscripted into the Russian Army.

1908?

Coincidence?

Or was your grandpa's story behind traveling to America merely a convenient cover hiding his true origins?

Weird. We normally lag behind you on weather since it's usually moving west to east, but today we had that exact same weather, pretty close to the same timing. Apparently it's very, very speedy weather....hopefully we'll miss out on the tornadoes though. :)

So brief pet peeve that I will manage NOT to turn into a long tirade (without encouragement):

Why is it that news reports always have to call people who go out into the wilderness and die because they did something stupid "experienced outdoorsmen"?

Y'know, I've been backpacking for 43 years, met and hiked with hundreds of people, and not a one of them would have done some of the stupid "stuff" these "experienced outdoorsmen" did to get themselves killed.

I guess I'm just not experienced.

I'm pretty good about keeping standing water to a minimum in our neighborhood so there aren't as many as you might expect. :-)

NobodysHome's Story Time:
Speaking of such things, on our honeymoon, NobodysWife and I decided to go hiking in Kakadu National Forest in Australia. We were used to the heat (in Davis in summer, if it's below 96 it's a "cool" day, and if it drops below 80 before midnight it's downright wonderful), but not the humidity (I think Davis hovers around 17%).

So the information packets (which I *gasp* read) said, "Carry 1 liter of water per person per kilometer." Think about that. 2 kg of water per km, so 12 kg of water for the two of us for a brief 6 km hike. I decided they were insane, so I loaded up on 4 liters of water and we set off.

Sure enough, we ran out of water about 2 km in. It was insane how fast you lost water in that heat and humidity. And, being in the wilderness and out of water, we headed back, taking it easy so as not to unduly exert ourselves! What a concept!

So yeah, we made it back fine, but each had another liter once we hit civilization.

So, just related to the above non-tirade...
