Dont do that in an interview...you will not get the job.

To add to this: Don't stick a saddle on the guy and ride him around the building while spurring him repeatedly. For some reason, interviewers object to that.

Well. I just finished the first of two Skype interviews with a district I don't remember applying at.
I think it went well! Hoping tomorrow goes just as well.
I didn't even realize districts would be okay with webcam interviews until they offered.

As I may have mentioned, wifey and I got a new TV. Very nice. And the high def was so freaking unreal on the movies we watched over the weekend, it almost looks like your watching living people.
At first I thought it was just because we were watching fairly new movies (X-Men: First Class and The Wolverine) on bluray, but last night I caught on the original Schwarzenegger Conan, and it looked almost as good. I thought I was gonna get my head chopped in half!!!!

Watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones. It pleases me to no end that the archers are given the order to "nock, draw, loose," rather than the "ready, aim, fire," you see in most fantasy/period pieces.

I was in charge at work Friday and Saturday as a test to see if I could run my own crew. One of my young, recently graduated co-workers told my boss I was "too strict" with her. She got me a raise and the promotion with that comment. ;-)

Oh yeah, I'm heading back to Houston the week of the 30, if plant shutdown happens as scheduled. This time there will be some job searching.
Woodraven, I am sorry for that happening.
By plant shutdown,I mean one week unpaid vacation. I'll get paid for the 4th.

Goooood morning FaWtL. :) Hope everyone is well today, and has a good one. Another clear day here on the Emerald Isle, someone must have imported the sunshine from our EU neighbours. :P
Good luck on the job hunting / interviews to Scintillae, David and Woodraven. Best of good luck all. :)
Relatedly, 'grats to houstonderek on the promotion. Well done. :)
Another relaxing night, no longer studying is great. I really need to start building a to do list that doesn't just include all the fun things I need to catch up on, and start working on it. No rest for the wicked, as they say. :P

I think the first list is superior.
And on today's agenda-
1. Hear explanation about why I might be a sociopath. Because armchair psychology is fun.
2. Lunch.
3. Sign the armchair psychology person up for 5,000 spam mailing lists.
4. Dinner.
Yep. Normal day.

My typical experience at most jobs has been to start out at 3/4-time, then have my hours cut over the next few months to the point where I can't even afford gas to get to work. I'm thinking I probably won't take this one unless they pay stupidly well. Good luck. I hope you find something that doesn't suck too much. Is the job market pretty bad up there?
