They were old-fashioned, but we still had them when I was a kid. When I was in my early twenties I got one of the first cell phones. It was a bag that you plugged into the car lighter. Man the roaming charges you would rack up with THAT thing!

I am back from my wedding, hurricane and vacation. All turned out pretty well :) How is everyone else doing?
Ha ha ... well perhaps not the heads so much she didn't get that part and there was perhaps an uncomfortable moment or two at first. But when I showed all the pretty shiny things in their ears noses and eyes it went over much better. :)
How did you fair over Labor Day? Happy that the Cape will calm down some now?

Hi all. What did I miss?
Well, Scott and Sarah had their new coffee table delivered, only to discover that it was actually an ancient sarcophagus with a very angry mummy inside. Meanwhile, Gary continued to enjoy his time away from the office, never realizing that everything was quickly falling apart due to the actions of a rogue AI that had gotten into the mainframe and begun re-routing all shipments to a remote location in New Zealand. And, across town, several people were injured when a flock of vicious....No, wait! That's my soap opera!

Labor Day was good. It's amazing how quickly the population drops off post August. I had no problems going home today
I love the tourists, but after three months it's time for a break.

Not that I know of. But then again, how would I know? If everything I see on the screen is the product of a rogue AI, then how do I know that it can be trusted? HOW DO I EVEN KNOW IF YOU ARE THE REAL MOFF?????

Yes, but did you use the old polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride telephones, or was yours made from some newer fangled plastic?
When I was really young we had an old bakelite phone, but I think it was old fashioned even then.

post card with a "disposable" email address. That way he can send you a quick email. :)

The wife has finally had enough of the problems that keep cropping up in our military housing. Between the dishwasher backing up periodically, the hot water heater going out, mold in the air ducts, and swamp by the front door, we're looking to move offpost.
While dealing with gate traffic will be 'fun', at least I won't have to put up with the numerous post rules. And will have a driveway again!

It seems like a lot of people (including myself unfortunately) are dropping their Pathfinder RPG subscriptions for the Beginners Box. It is a real pity, as it is a great looking product, but I don’t really *need* it right now, and the postage out to Australia for a box like that is killer.
My five-year old's getting one for Christmas. It can't be that much, it's priced in American dollars ;).

Heh. Although I think we’re pretty close to parity again now.
Honestly I was considering doing the same for my son, but I don’t think my partner would be all that thrilled (hard to say if she would be more or less impressed with that than with the Lego AT-AT I was also thinking of getting him ...)
Hmmm ... Pathfinder playdate? ;-)

I looked it up. It's about $A45 including postage, which is less than we paid for the 3rd Ed. PHB.
My son got the Lego space shuttle for his last birthday, and it fell to me to put the thing together. As for Pathfinder playdates - I think they should be introduced as part of the kindergarten curriculum. *Writes to Minister for Education*

$45 inc. postage? I’m fairly certain that when it was in my subscription list (before I suspended my subscription), the postage cost alone was about $45, putting the total cost in the $75 to $80 mark.
Unless I totally misinterpreted.
EDIT: ok, this is weird ... if I put it in my shopping cart now, the postage cost is only about $18, putting the total cost at $47 inc subscriber discount.
I’m fairly certain that when it was in my subscription list I couldn’t change the shipping option to a cheaper one ... but now I think of it, it was probably shipping along with my AP subscription, maybe that extra weight was just pushing the price up to a much higher category or something ... hmmm, I may need to reconsider ...
