Trying to get someone in Cal's House of Respite to mow my lawn for me. It's not working out so well. So who in FAWTLland would like to mow my yard?
Me because I've never mown a yard before? But again...eh...for that you might NOT want me to mow your yard.
You see what happens when I volunteer? I mow myself nekkid.

I have work.
But I am getting more and more amused by the construction crew's petty attempts at vengeance:
(1) They decided to extend the end of the construction in front of *my* house to May 6. The rest of the block is April 30. Ah, well, I don't drive and the work on my roof is done. Go nuts, guys!
(2) They arrived in this morning and saw my car in the driveway, so promptly parked a truck and a backhoe right in front of it, blocking it in.
Oops. Don't drive. Don't care.
They're really doing their best, but my roof is done and my solar guys said it'll be at least a week before PG&E gets their act together to let us switch over, so whatever they're doing this week just really doesn't matter to me.

Oooohhhhh....I could hire Cap to do that, since he digs holes. Then you mow it and ship it back, then Cap puts it back in place. This is genius.

What you didn't say, and what you should have said, is: 'Limey, I hear you are a man who might have both a scythe and the ability to travel vast distances instantaneously by the power of your mind alone. Please, can you help?'
To which I would reply:
'Van, my very good friend, I am moved to tears by your distressful garden situation, and I will do everything possible to assist you as soon as I actually have both a scythe and the ability to travel vast distances instantaneously by the power of my mind alone.'

Yes. The little blood suckers think im some kind of delicasy. Not only do they always bite me, even with other people in the room. Im also a bit allergic to them so i get bumps the size of an egg.
*Nods*
I'm also a bit allergic to mosquito bites. They don't get quite egg-sized though, more like a bottlecap-sized in diameter...and can grow almost twice that size if I can't keep from clawing at them.
You didnt run me off. I crawled into bed. I have some nasty bug going on.
Poor Woran…
*Attempts to shove a blanket, some hot tea and a glass (or two) of Rum through his screen to Woran*
My sniffles and nasal + eye itching have begun for real over Easter so I'm officially in full-blown allergy mode from now on - Mutters something about stupid trees j&&zing all over everyone...
*Sends hugs'n'pats to Woran*
Also, cancer sucks.
It really does suck...
*Sends hugs'n'pats, well wishes and crossed fingers + toes for both Sharoth and his mother*
Trying wedding gowns session: Yes I managed to fit in.
You know, I think I look good in red. Though my BFs friend was suggesting that I also check out other bridal gown shops since she has limited variety (just those 4).
Sorry about the mussed up fur but it was all that getting in and out of stuff.
Hmmm…
I really like no. 1, though for some reason it doesn't really seem like a bridal gown to me. It seem more like a longish dress you'd see on one of the bridesmaids to me for some reason I can't quite put my finger on...
That or I'd expect to see you to be wearing that red dress, while lounging on a piano, singing to me at a high class club… ^^'
Still I like it, its really pretty.
I also like no 3. It's a kind of simpler/cleaner dress with a really nice deep colour. Also the dress doesn't quite have the kind of traditional 'wedding dress' look (which it shares to some degree with no 1.), which is something I quite like the look of.
Lastly I'll (honorably) mention no 4. which for me is kind of your traditional wedding dress, with a lot of sparkle and glitter.

The nice part of my job is I don't do sod unless someone else drops the ball and only on the weekend, which means I'm getting paid overtime.
That'll be $27 an hour, mowing grass is essentially the same as shoveling snow, so that'll be $25 an hour.

Hell, I'd do the lawn in exchange for a good dinner and beer.
Which is more than I get at home, where I mow the lawn and then have to make my own dinner and buy my own beer.
But I won't rake.
Got all my parent-teacher conferences done today! W00t!
*and*, I have so much leftover food from yesterday that I don't have to cook tonight.
Hugs, Sharoth. Yes, cancer sucks big flaming balrog turds. I'm so sorry.

Here are some pics:
Im jealous!
The giant lapras is amazing!
The giant lapras is the only inflatable one the rest are all 2-D pictures. I have more pictures but I don't think the whole of FAWTL needs to see a squirtle, a bulbasaur, a rattata, an oddish in the Bush. Or a exeggcutor next to a coconut tree.

The mom of one of my five-year-olds told me, very hesitantly at the end of his conference, that he has been talking about being gender-questioning and not wanting to be a boy for over a year, and has been asking for permission to grow out his hair and get some dresses and girly things.
She was basically just feeling me out to find out how accepting we would be if he starts experimenting with his gender expression at school. (This is Texas, after all.)
Her kid is the sweetest, shyest, gentlest kid in my class (he's the Fluttershy) and I absolutely adore him. He can change his pronouns to she or they and wear whatever makes him happy, I honestly don't care as long as they're comfortable and happy being who they are.

I think Texas is waay more Liberal then here. Down here you'd possibly get disowned by your family thinking of doing something like that. I still think I'd have made a great guy, but this many years in my body, meh I've gotten used to what I am.
I am really not sure what I'd do if I had kids and my kid did something like that ><

Do I have any girlish hobbies other then cooking? Nope, I can't sew, or do handicrafts and can't be arsed about fashion.
I play computer games, hit the gym and lift weights, hike, rock climb(indoor walls), run and swim.
And if anyone says that cooking is a girl thing I'll tell them tell me that when you're overseas and there's no convenient way to get cooked or pre-packed meals.

There's a LOT of people in Texas (and elsewhere in the country, more commonly in the South but not exclusively so) who would do the exact same thing. LM and this student's mom are the exception, not the rule.
Probably why she was so hesitant - many other teachers and definitely most other parents in Texas probably would have reacted very negatively to such a request.

Oh oh.. One of my colleagues is leaving soon. My Company hasn't found a replacement yet(though they are looking) . I usually cover for her when she goes on vacation, so should I start getting worried that her job scope will pass on to me if my company can't find a replacement?
Also she's the only person I go out with for lunch (once per week). I spend most days lunch break in the Gym anyway or occasionally in the sauna. Is that...odd?

Look, I actually like being busy, but... Eh not so busy that I can't do my work properly because everyone is chasing me to get things done at ONCE!
But again well at least I don't have to spend time researching and debating rules now...that kind of thing eats up a lot of time and generally leaves bad feelings around.

I'd be willing to procure a scythe for you to use on my yard, but can't help with the teleportation. Yet.
Also, I'm not sure my yard is quite bad enough to require the use of a scythe. Yet.

I could provide dinner. Good is a subjective term, so it would be up to you to decide if my offering was pleasing. Beer, you're on your own. Though I might be willing to give you a couple of dollars to buy some. There's a local brewery that some of my friend love, so perhaps you could check it out (without me). And I would never ask anyone to rake. I have a mulching mower.
