My family's three favorite summer vacation spots now.
1. Renaissance Fairs, where they can be a!%$&#&s to each other by paying to have each other locked in the iron maiden or whatever, and have the jesters heckle each other.
2. Noah's Ark, the world's largest water park, which means long lines to get sun burned, long lines to overpay for terrible food, and long lines to see Wisconsin farmwives beach themselves at the wave pool or in an inner tube on the lazy river. We instead spend the day getting robbed by the downtown Wisconsin Dells.
3. A week at a house boat on a lonely mosquito infested lake somewhere. In August. I've never been, but I've heard the stories.
They used to go cool places, like Devil's Lake, or historic places like Galena.
Or American Players Theatre.

1- Love Ren faires. Why CH and John and my wife and I have not gone to one together is beyond me.
2. That sounds awesome. Sunburn is not a concern for me. I have yet to meet a wisconsin farmwife. Meeting one is relevant to my...interests.
3. Houseboat? How interesting. Can one not simply sail away from the mosquito infested part? Despite the fact that I live not far from a few docks, I know surprisingly little about seagoing life.

Little Gideon. Gnome or Halfling Mesmerist. My gut reaction is Halfling, but gnomes are f~*@ed up in the head.
I'd say he's either an occultist specializing in esoteric items, or a rogue (that fake mage one) - though a solid argument could be made for either a bard or mesmerist. Either way, he has the leadership.
I'd pretty much be down for any of those four.
Also, I want to say Halfing. Pudgy guy is pudgy - and so is Bud, his father (though Bud is taaaaaaaalllllll), so it's up to you.
Also I've only seen one episode with Little Gideon.

How is it suddenly, guides to build characters are everywhere.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what books and free will are for.
Just wanted to get that off my chest.
That's fair.
I don't find the guides stifling or unpleasant, myself - I think they're there, not to tell you exactly how to build "the" character (though some jerky ones may be), but to give you a kind of heads-up of relative strong and weak choices; the good ones have the creator's personal notes on why to allow you to make or differ with their value judgements relative to the guide as a whole.

The episode I've seen with Little Gideon is The Hand That Rocks The Mabel, the first one with him. Good point on Occultist. I don't allow Leadership, ever.
Not to worry about spoilers, I'm not uptight. Except The Titanic, I still haven't seen it yet. :-)

Playing Mario Make Believe with my two boys in the back yard is super precious. We just beat Bowser and got a Power Star!Curse you, you wretched plumbers!
In our story games, we have several of "The Bowser(s)" (from different iterations of reality/time) who have become "good Bowsers" instead of bad guys. It's adorably sweet.

I think Florida gets more air circulation from being surrounded by the Gulf & Atlantic. I know if I travel from where I live at the very coast just 10-15 miles inland, it gets noticeably hotter by a few degrees*. It's even worse when there aren't any breezes. I imagine with Georgia being so much more landlocked, anywhere away from the coast must get pretty darn warm.**

Also, also, I hear-tell that the clay has something to do with it, but I'm not enough of a climatologist to really explain such things (I think climatology is different from meteorology, in that while the latter predicts local whether, the other analyzes general trends - and that's certainly what I'm using it for here, now - but I could just be making that term up; I am also not a meteorologist).

I only vaguely remember passing through Ocala on a family trip northward when I was little.
And at the risk of provoking a slaadnapping attempt by Freehold, I (nor my sister) have never experienced snow. I mean I understand the concept, and I've seen it in pictures, but never been near it or touched it. My brother just experienced snow for the first time late last year on a trip with his fiancee (now wife) to visit her family. He didn't like it (the snow) at all.

Erm. Sorry to break it to you, Freehold, but if the goal is to introduce Amby to snow, the day has not, in fact, come. The snow won't return to NY for a good 6 months. You can fiddle with your weather dominator all you want. You are powerless.

Snow's cool I like snow. It has a couple issues though.
1. It's the cold that sucks, if it would stay a consistent 20-35 degrees that would be spectacular.
2. It loses its charm after four months. Too bad winter averages 6 months here.

I saw it snow in summer, once.
I was nine, or ten, or maybe eleven. I had finally gotten my mom to throw me a birthday party, I had everyone over, spent all week devising all sorts of games and hijinks to get into outside. It was going to be the party of the summer!
So, my birthday rolls around (which is in late August), and its unseasonably cold, with wind gusts and flurries. But my mom, being a tough Wisconsin mom still had everything outside. So, all my games and hijinks became an endurance test to withstand the cold winds and blowing snow. Also my superman cake blew onto the ground and was promptly eaten by the goat, which had of course, gotten out of It's pen.
And, that was my worst birthday ever.

We were doing our annual tour of the Yosemite High Sierra camps one July and got 6" of snow. Being seasoned snow veterans, we just kept following the trail and got to the camp at 7800' or so...
...and for some reason we were the *ONLY* group to make it in. So there was food for 50, but only 9 of us.We ate well that evening...
