When I went for a walk today (yay, day out of work without needing to save energy to get tomorrow morning!) I stopped at PC world where I was checking if there is any reasonable sale for flash drives (I would like to make a recovery disk for my new laptop finally) and saw a Kobo Arc - 7 inch tablet. Nice and a tempting - having portable internet browser/notebook/book reader would be useful. And it is currently for 80 pounds. Shame it only has Wi-Fi as a mean of accessing internet. Tempting. Maybe I will buy one before I return to Poland...

I could shut myself in bathroom, naked with the tablet and wifi.

Devil-healer adjusted a bit. I cut it down to CR 5 and 6 HD...

Today idea for a monster not touched yet. Especially that I am torn between monstrous humanoid or undead...

Why choose? When both is twice the fun?!? :)

Well, technically it is the choice between it being alive or undead.

And I have yet to pick CR for that baby... My first instinct was to go with something low 3-7 but for a twist I should probably make it higher.

Off to sleep.

I made picatta. Once. Having never had it before. The recipe looked good.

Never again.
Apparently I do NOT like capers. Who knew? ;P

My dinner consisted of rotisserie chicken. Mmmmm......

Great game, great meal with friends, great time talking things out with them too. I felt the love not just from them, but from you guys too, and it's putting me in a better place. Going to get some sleep and then maybe make contact late tomorrow.

I hate capers. (But like Caper. Ironic? Probably not.)

So. I am bored at work and decided "Hey, you know what sounds like fun? I'll go through the list of posts I've made that have been favorited by other people and revisit the past. That ought to kill a few minutes." I scrolled through, laughing occasionally, sometimes wondering why a certain post got favorited, until I reached the end. And there it was, the first post of mine that someone else favorited. One I had almost completely forgotten about. One I was, and still am, kinda proud of. The one favorited by Cosmo, although I'm not entirely sure that's a good thing. So, for anyone who cares (and also for those who don't) here is a link to my first favorited post.

And now it's time to make the coffee.

I hate coffee.

G'morning.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Sunday!!! Lots to do today, and I don't think the weather is going to cooperate. Looks like rain.

Scarab Sages

Yesterday was busy as well. Took the Trailblazer over to Walmart's autoshop for a much needed oil change, along with some of the basics. Time was I'd have done it myself. These days it's not feasible, however. Maybe in the future that will change.

After that it was comic book store, grocery shopping, and some clothes washing.

Right now I'm just waiting for Supercuts to open so I can bring the boy for a hair cut. Then it's off to Ashley's Furniture to look for a new bed for the boy. I'm hoping we can find something cool, that'll match his other furniture, and can be delivered to the new house.

Speaking of his furniture. In his room he's got a set consisting of a dresser, desk, and night stand. All of these things were mine as a child. I can't remember when I first got it, but I'll hazard a guess that the pieces are over 30 years old, and still in great shape.

Good furniture can last a looong time. For example - the dining room table we had growing up. The damn thing was solid wood and huge. When I was a kid, it sat my parents, myself, and my four brothers. And that's without the leaves which could be inserted into either end, extending it at least another 2 feet per leaf.

That table is still being used by my younger brother. Some FAWTLY Folk have experienced gaming around this table.

And the zombie said "Let there be coffee." And, lo, there was coffee. And the coffee was good.

Time for cup numero 2.

So, did anyone else hear about this scrap metal dude who purchased this gold egg for around $13K, only to recently be told it was a lost Faberge Egg? He then sold it to an anonymous collector for $33 Million.

I wish I had that kind of luck.

Scarab Sages

Whenever I hear about Faberge Eggs, however, it always makes me think of James Bond. Faberge Eggs are part of the plot of Octopussy with Roger Moore.

This I completely understand. Every time I had to leave the wife and boy alone to go off for a 2-3 week inspection for the Navy was nerve wracking. It was especially hard knowing we didn't have any family close by to help out.

Luckily, I've only had to be away for work once so far since Katie has come along. And At least now we have family nearby.

Good morning everyfawtl,

Just stopped by the place to pick up more clothes as encouraged by the other party. Conversations should be had later on today or this week. The place was messy as usual but I didn't see myself burned in effigy anywhere or my stuff thrown out of the window. I guess that's a start.

Some firefighters in Massachusetts successfully rescued a woman, her 4 year old daughter and baby son from a stuck elevator. They kept the little girl calm by using a cellphone to play a song from the movie Frozen, then singing along with the song. These are good men.

Also, not sure if anyone follows March Madness. I usually do not, but I was interested in it a little this year, based solely on the Warren Buffet challenge. Basically, he offered $1 Billion to anyone who could offer up a perfect bracket. After one day, there were only three people still in the running - in the whole world.

Scarab Sages

By now, I'm guessing the challenge is dead in the water.

Scarab Sages

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go prepare myself for a day of local travel and getting s+*$ done.

Peace and chicken grease, my friends.

Spoiler:
You know, I can't even remember where I got that saying from. All I do know is that it's from my fraternity days.

What have you done/haven't done?!

Maybe I will actually ask later if you don't mind speaking about that...

The level of music programs today...

Old Spice Girls from the middle nineties become great comparing to what is normally presented in TV... *sigh*

Don't Speak is from 1997? I thought it was a bit older...

Completely random observation: Mikaze - Raging alias has four posts... And two of those seem to be tongue-in-check. The newest one does not seem to be so, though.

When in doubt give the monster Improved Initiative feat...

Parents came back from shopping and surprised me by telling me that they bought the tablet I saw yesterday...

The tablet will be here around Thursday because there wasn't one in stock.

I would say that one is a winner :)

Every time I bake a pie I am reminded of the fact that the last time I baked a pie I swore never to do it again.

Why is it that I can make beef wellington, pan-seared breast of duck, authentic tiramisu, or any number of other dishes, but a simple fruit-filled pie makes me break out into a cold sweat?

On the upshot, I only had to throw away my dough and start over once.

I will point to not my first favorited post, but my fifth. (Although my last page of favorited posts are pretty much all from before favoriting began, which means people would have had to go back to find them.)

The best part is that two posts later it elicited an in-character response from Lisa Stevens.

Our extended gaming group back in Kraków has two married pairs that meet on our sessions.

Undead halfling monstrosity or monstrous humanoid halflingosity? Can't decide... And a third option for that monster still sneaks around...

Jenga tower/Human(oid) Centipede of undead feral halflings?
