No, that's just what she wanted to be called by her grandkids. Not sure where she got it from. It hasn't stopped me from getting Charlie to call her yeti, however.
My father in law, on the other hand, first tried to steal my dad's title - gramps. I don't think so. So he eventually got stuck with Grumpy.
Of course, rather than be a good sport about it, I think he's planning on trying to eventually steal the name Gramps back. He's slipped a couple of times in the last few days and referred to himself that way. If he think's he can do so because of my dad's memory and health problems, he's gonna be very disappointed.

It was eaten by the forum after it was sent. Thankfully it was just hello to Taig so I posted it once again easily.

Yes he is. And they gave him several alternatives when he couldn't have Gramps. Eventually, they stuck him with Grumpy. I ultimately don't care what he wants the kids to call him, just so long as he understands it won't ever be Gramps.

Yetta is Yiddish for swag I think.
Now that you mention it, I do seem to recall her saying it had a Yiddish origin.

Just found out my brother got robbed. He was making a delivery, and on his way back to the store he saw someone pulled over on the side of the road. He stopped to see if they needed help, the guy pulled a knife and took his wallet and delivery cash. Then he pushed my brother over the guard rail and into a ditch before driving off. My brother is at the hospital to be checked out, but thinks he is ok, and the guy didn't take his car so that's something I guess.

Man, that's f~#~ed up. I've heard of similar crime M.O.s. Good thing the guy didn't try to hurt your brother more seriously.
Positive waves coming your brother's way.

Lazarus saves any text entered into a text field like this, both as it's being entered and when you hit "submit". If you lose it, you have it back with just a few right-clicks. It's awesome like that.

The kids tend to call both me and Adam's Dad "Gwampaaa!".
If they have to differentiate they do so by last name.

in Germany it is universally Opa "Firstname" or Oma "firstname"
for mum and dad there is a chioce between "Mama und Papa" or "Mutti und Vati" or "Mami und Papi" (the last one usually only for very small children)

That sucks man, I'm glad he's ok. That particular scam is unfortunately all too common

This was using a supply of Williams-Sonoma chocolate I received as a gift. Their hot chocolate is actual chocolate shavings that you melt in hot milk. It certainly makes a delicious treat.

On a more somber note, do you ever have a friend going through a really tough time and you can't imagine it getting any worse, but it does, and you just feel powerless?
The job was rough on her because she had to drive a long distance to get to it, but then she interviewed for a better job that was close to where she lived. She got the job and gave notice at her previous job. The old job ended and the day before the new job was to start, the new employer told her the position fell through and she should not report to work. She was already replaced at her old job. She was denied unemployment because her termination at her old job is considered voluntary.
She could not line up new employment quickly, and has now been evicted and had her car repossessed.
Her family is of no help because some years ago she was disfellowshipped from the Jehova's Witnesses and her relations are all church members.
I think her estranged husband is letting her sleep on the couch for a while, but he wants her out by the end of the week.
I loaned her some money (which I never expect to get back and I am okay with that), but there is not much else I can do and that bothers me. I mean, how much can one person have to deal with?
Anyway, just had to air that because it is on my mind...

Wow, that is an avalanche of crap. I really hope things get better for your friend. She's fortunate to have you as a friend.
