I seem to remember giving my wife a bit of grief over her wanting to purchase this wolfgang puck griddle she saw on QVC.

I was wrong.

Successful shopping. Lots of cheap goodies. Yumm-yumm.

But now I will have to decide what to make for dinner: braise pork with apples? Cook half of bought pierogi? Cook chicken leg? Everything has rather short expiry date (which I will promptly ignore anyway).

Probably I'll cook pierogi because I hadn't any for long time.

Or maybe pork? I had some yesterday but before that I hadn't eaten decent meat for ages ...

The Texas Renn Fest opens this weekend. At some point this year I'd like to take the boy. It's less than 30 miles away. In Texas, that's just down the road!

It's been years since I've been to a RennFest; we used to go to the Minnesota one in Shakopee every year. Would've gone this year, but the timing didn't work out.

Yeah 30 miles is just down the road in Minnesota, too.

We went to the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee as well. We have also gone to the one in Texas. Allegedly, they are run by the same group. The Minnesota festival seemed bigger to me.

Bacon omelet get.

Had only two slices of bacon this morning and put me back to sleep. Sleepy bacon is the best kind.

Congratulations! You have gained Ultimate True Loving Parenthood as a feat. Do you have any idea how few people actually manage that? (Bows deeply and with great sincerity.) No kidding - very few species share food, even between parent and offspring.

Tordek - Yeah, I imagine it's hard to get access to enough land to hold an attraction like that, especially since it has to be near enough to a major city to be an effective income-generator, and far enough away not to cause major traffic havoc. We went to one near Sacramento when we first moved out here, and it was tiny by comparison to Shakopee. It closed down a few years later because it couldn't effectively pay for itself.

My first commission got done yesterday. Customer told me he loved it, and I got my payment as agreed.

An ego boost was just what I needed. Now all I have to do is hope that this good mood will be here to stay.

Yeah, just have to hope that any future commissions I do are met with as much praise.

Also, I think I found a theme for a group of five villains in service to the Big Bad of one story I've been working on.

Scarab Sages

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Monday! I hope you all have a fantastic day, my brethren!

Scarab Sages

Walking Dead was awesome last night!

Scarab Sages

Stil not liking this new iPhone operating system. Lots of annoying little things, not the least of which it seems to really eat into my battery life.

Scarab Sages

Might be time to upgrade to a new phone.

Scarab Sages

And I'm just realizing - this is the first Columbus Day I've had to work in 12 years. Weird.

Scarab Sages

So apparently there are times when I'll miss working for the Navy.

Scarab Sages

All righty folks! Things need to get done. Peace and chicken grease!

Awake.

I'd like to sleep some more...

Giving a dragon a name is harder than I remembered. One name for a Cloud Dragon I had in mind was Hurador, but it might not sound "dragon" enough.

I quite like the way my GM does dragon names. An official name title and a short one/ nickname that the players can remember.

Like Sirrious for the Cloud dragon, or "He-who-moves-on-the-breeze-the cold-west-wind".

Well, I figured Hurador is known as the Darkened (his scales are unusually dark for a Cloud Dragon, as is his attitude) though I figure a longer title could work.

Tea time.

I also feel like making him a Red Dragon or Magma Dragon now, since his nemesis is a Frost Giant.

According to Scint, I do dragon names like mixing up a Scrabble board. I've introduced my party to dragons by the names of Nuozelas, Xiurkesor, and Cuorvhain, as well as Eranex from the Dragons Unleashed book (though that one's not my creation).

Hurador works if you ask me. I think a little better for the Magma than for the Cloud, IMO.

And any one of those would have a Scrabble game groan all around the board.

Hurador the Darkened (second title pending) shall be a Magma Dragon then.

Time to close Paizo and get to work cleaning off this shelf. Later FAWTLfolk.

Ack! Ditto here.
Enjoy your Monday FaWtLFolks!

So, I was at work this morning, just chilling out and killing time, when one of the guests comes by to check out. It was Ted Dibiase! That's right, the Million Dollar Man himself! I had seen his name in the registry (he stayed for nearly a week), but hadn't actually seen him and assumed it was someone with the same name. Nope, I was wrong.

Thankfully I was able to restrain myself from saying anything, but he may have seen the surprise in my eyes.

Everything I've heard about him says he's a very nice guy & down to earth. Very nice story & happy Monday.

I really need to be more proactive about homework. Wasted three of my five days off already.

Wathced Freddy vs. Jason last night. I really miss slasher/platter horror movies. The zombie have taken over everywhere.

Hmmm, even though Jason is counted amongst the "walking dead," is he still considered a zombie dispite the fact he uses a machete and DOES NOT eat brains?

Oh, bacon two days in a row. What are the odds of that?

indeed zombies are everywhere nowadays. But I do not think jason is a zombie. Waaaaaay back in the day some friends of mine tried to stat him up for a game, and I think we referred to him as a revenant of some sort. I think hr may also have been statted up in an old Dragon or Dungeon.
