Heard from one of my old Navy co-workers yesterday - he and his wife are going to be parents! I'm real happy for them, since they've been trying for well over a year. And I know they'll be great parents!

And tomorrow the wife and I are planning a little dinner date. First one we've had in....hell, I can't remember. We're going to drop the boy off at my brother's place, that way Charlie can spend the time playing with his cousins.

All right folks. Bye for now.

today is the traditonal "Dülmener Wildpferdefang"
near the town of Dülmen in the german state North-Rhine- Westphalia live the only german herd of wild horses, well wild ponies.
They live wild in the Meerfelder Bruch forrest and moor and a re, like that land, the property of the Duke of Croÿ.
Once a year the herd is chased into an arena and the young stalluons are cought by hand and sold. The herd could not survive with to many members and to m ny stallions would lead to incest.

Good morning, FaWtLers and FaWtLerettes.

the lost future. Its pretty chessily interesting.

Also sean bean is in it. Maybe he'll survive this movie.

He survived as Sharpe and probably as Lady Chatterley's Lover.

And now to think more on my game tonight (need to prep more).

Also as a hard-drinking Sunday League footballer who gets to play for Sheffield United.

ZOMG BATTLE ANGEL ALITA LAST ORDER IS NOT OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 111!!! Just got the latest issue, this is a real cry back to the philosophical arguements of the first series, although I did not care for the ending.

Good point Kajehase, and we never did see Boromirs' blades tattoo.

*Explanation:
When Saturday Comes, a film about an average man who loves soccer and especially the club Sheffield United**, in his mid-30's he has a trial for them. Basically a UK version of the Rookie.

**Sean's team that he supports, hence he got a tattoo of them.

Ah! You mean I didn't talk your ear off about battle Angel alita last time?

Battle Angel alita, called gundream (gunnm) in japan, is about a fully cyborg girl who is the master of an ancient anti cyborg fighting technique. The series is set in a dark future post apocalyptic landscape called the scrap yard, which is a giant slum. Attached to the scrap yard is a floating/hanging futuristic utopia called tiphares, the origins of which remain shrouded in mystery, but are the main food source for the scrap yard (they essentially eat and make their homes out of their offal). No-one can just go to tiphares, as it is miles in the sky and has numerous self defense systems. Alitas mostly destroyed body is discovered by daisuke ido, an a tipharean exile living in secret in the scrap yard. He repairs her(not re-activate, as all cyborgs in the series retain their human brain), and her story begins.

While the series could easily devolve into warlord of the week stuff, it is actually an action packed serious story that delves deeply into philosophy, psychology, sexuality (to an extent, a few questions are raised regarding cyborg bodies and human sexual desire)and what it means to be human when the only human part of you is your brain.

The last order series is sometimes referred to as an alternate universe, but it really is the ending the creator, yukito kishiro, planned for the series, as he reveals that the world really is earth in the jaw droppingly far future, and shows how it got into that state. The current story arc got a little silly as there WAS a fighting tournament (something that kills my interest quickly, but the gory combat, love for individual fighting styles both real and made up, and bits of war philosophy kept me reading), but kishiro has in this latest volume explained the title of the series and expanded the scope to the secondary characters, which is great. He is one of the few mangaka where I love all his characters, great or small.

What a fragging day....

The Vegas market forces us to consume Taco Bell, Dell Taco, or Chipotle every time, I say I will do Chipotle every time for fresh wholesome ingredients. That meat T.B. and D.T. use doesn't even look like really steak/hamburger.
