I just put a game boy emulator on my phone. I now have final fantasy legend 1, 2, and 3 on my phone- orginally and rightfully known as the Sa.Ga series in japan(i also own all the saga games that came out here). These are the first roleplaying games I ever played and are largely responsible for me being on these forums today. I try to keep them in mind before I play every session, and I am so happy I can immerse myself in a game whenever I wish. Although it is described as a science fiction rpg(you can use a nuke as a weapon in the second game), I always considered the series fantastic fantasy.
So happy right now....

Yeah, I agree with both then. Final Fantasy IX was my first, and I still find it underrated compared to VIII (which I hate) and VII (which I am okay with).
I only beat IV and played VI before I finished IX (ended up finally beating VI later) and those three easily contend for my favorites in the series as well.

Now I remember what I had in mind. Me and my players had a talk about the forest drake picture in Rivers Run Red's front pages, and came to the conclusion that drakes should have four feet instead of two, considering the latter is a trademark of a wyvern. Since I see the drake as a link between a true dragon and a wyvern with regards to evolution, I decided that drakes have stubby arms like those of a tyrannosaurus rex, thus making them distinct from both dragons and wyverns.

I actually had to look that up. Its been that long since I played. 3 was my least favorite due to the storyline and change to the meat system, but it is a beloved part of the trilogy nonetheless.

It's the only one of the three I've played (and I haven't actually finished it, though I did watch a Youtube playthrough some time ago). Lovecraftian weirdness just amuses me.
The other two are now on my to-play list though, when time allows.

So sleepy....
But the comparisons between Drakes, Wyverns and Dragons (& maybe linnorms) too is very interesting. It'd be good to make them completely discrete with their own identity whilst still retaining a distinct relationship.
The evolution seems nice, or the ability to cast spells or omnivore/carnivore or a common antipathy with each wanting to be an apex predator.

I must warn you-the difficulty of all saga games is unforgiving.

in my world dragons are overly powerful because they huffed too much god-essence during the Divine War. They now are so potent that reproduction is almost too easy, drakes, wyverns and other semi draconic things hatch from unfertilized dragon eggs..

Three big important things:
1. Cinnamon, the new puppy almost choked on a piece of steak last night. Good luck and quick intervention saved the day. She's her usual rambunctious self again and quite good at climbing up the stairs and shredding toys with her shark-like teeth. :D
2. Retrieved Rocky's ashes and, sniff, he's home again. Rest in peace buddy. :(
3. I'm now the owner of an iPAd. A bigger screen for better Paizo downloads:D

So she shreds everything with her shark-like teeth except the food which she tries to swallow whole?

Conversation between me and my friend Vanessa.
Vanessa: I can't get over that his last name is Diamond. If I married him I would be Vanesa Diamond. Coolest last name ever.
Me: You don't want to play that game with me Vanessa you will lose.
Vanessa: What do you mean, you're married to Alex.
Me: Ok you asked for it. Yeah and what is Alexs last name? Bond. And where is Alex from? He's Scottish. And what is Alexs uncles name? James, James Bond.
Vanessa: And what does Alex do he's an ornithologist :P
Me: Yeah he is, who takes off for 3 months out of the year to remote locales around the world. Is he really studying birds or foiling the plans of international supervillains?
Vanessa: You've stopped taking your meds haven't you?
Me: That sounds like loser talk to me.

Funnily enough, James Bond actually was an ornithologist.
