So...what happened?

I worked on it! And then I went to sleep.

And now I am awake (have been for a while, actually). Orthos reminded me that I, too, had a dream last night. I don't remember much of it, but I do remember a bit...

My alarm went off, and I remember thinking that if I hit snooze, I was voluntarily forgoing the surprise round against the day.

On the other hand, if you stay in bed, there's a chance you might be able to maintain your stealth....

The street? Not just no, but hell no.

The city? That's almost 99.9% certainty.

Although I guess I shouldn't be surprised that New York is so jealous of Houston that they name a major thoroughfare after the place.

It's still coming together. I did a Skype interview on 4 May, had an offer from them by 10 May, got the offer letter today, and (if accepted) would start on 8 July.

Needless to say - insanity would not begin to describe the next two months.......

My field - mechanical engineering. It'd mostly be oil and gas work, but the company is pretty diversified. Slightly more pay than what I'm making now.

The big part is that we'd be a lot closer to family. I've got two brothers in Houston, and both sets of grandparents would be about 6 hours away in New Orleans, along with the remaining family of both grandmothers. That's a huge benefit with the second baby coming, and the main reason we started looking in the first place.

Fawesome!

I don't know if I mentioned it here yet, but they assigned me all of my firm's Texas clients. I probably won't be doing business travel for 4 or 5 months, but when I do I'm sure I'll be down there at least once a year, maybe two or three times. Most of my TX clients are in Dallas, but I have a few in Houston.
