Saw Kamelot/Nightwish last night. Had no idea what to expect, having never been to a concert.
Did not expect waiting outside for nearly an hour to get in having bought tickets in advance.
Nor the old guy in the Superman-Jesus shirt and cape to lap the block about eight times before they let us in. Or for him to be there. This led to the introduction of a new unit of time, used thusly in a sentence: "Dang, that sucked, it took us twelve Superman-Jesuses to get inside." The same guy who coined this also started messing with passersby.

NICKI MINAJNor the lack of chairs. Ended up leaving early because neither Dad nor I could take standing much longer after both of us worked all day then got there. My legs are wimpy.

I dunno. I'm glad I went, just to have a concert experience. I don't think I'll go again.
FWIW, my first concert was Megadeth w/ Warlock & Sanctuary in May 1988. I was 16. Those under the age of 21 were exiled to the balcony of this venue (which is still around today as I was there to see Nightwish last week). Couldn't see much of anything.
Hasn't discouraged me. I'm probably batting near a thousand shows in my life time.

It's kind of like sex. The first time isn't always what it's cracked up to be even though you remember it.
It improves over time with practice and experience. Kind of like learning from your mistakes has a way of humbling you and working toward raising your wisdom stat.

I just took a call from a woman with a really scratchy smoker voice. Truckstop waitress-style.
All the sudden I got a whiff of cigarette smoke and I said to myself, "Ugh, I can actually smell the cigarettes on her. I bet she smells like that all the time."
