Artist extraordinaire Rafael Schnell, who is currently one of the beta testers of Grittier and our soon-to-be-released sandbox adventure, decided to give form to the beta test party. And what an impressive work! Check out his blog and take a look at a Grittier party!

The artwork is not bad, but nothing I'd go running too. Especally the vampire and the faces of the characters.
The characters do ahve a gritty feel. But they also have a bland feel as well.
I wouldn't be excited to see this artist listed as one for a product I was considering purchasing.
The poses were anti-dynamic. I'd like to see what he can do with action shots.
All in all, still much better than I can (stick figure) draw, but not up to the quality that I've enjoyed with the Paizo books.
But keep trying, there is definitely something there that might be great some day (except for that vampire...I know its supposed to look goofy, but....)

Not bad artwork, but it felt very static and lifeless. And with the fighter guy, I kept hearing the line from Penny Arcade: "I smolder with generic rage". Also, he is holding the bow very awkwardly. The girl with the grenade looked like, "Oh, man, I am so wasted right now zzz...."
I don't know. It wasn't bad, but I've been spoiled by Kristin Collins, Hugo Solis, and Juan Diego.

Well, they ARE mugshots. ;)
As I said, these were not commissioned work, but his spare time work with the beta test party. Like presenting an iconic, you might say.
The good thing? We just had a little chat and he WILL do some comission work for Eridanus Books, including action scenes and scenery.
Stay tuned for future releases!
PS: The vampire IS a goofy study he did and has nothing to do with Pathfinder or Eridanis Books ;)

Action scenes would be interesting to see.
Something for your artist to look at: even though these are mug shots, and there is some good detail, there is no pizazz to them. Look at how Wayne Reynolds has done the pictures of te iconics for PF. Even though most of them are just posed, there is some "character" to the poses. Something that shows some personality, from Lem's quirky smile to the Witch's smolder.
